it's been six months since i had my wisdom teeth removed here by dr. jelmini, and I can confidently…read moresay that my experience was wonderful. the healing was smooth with no complications, and I was back to eating pre-surgery within weeks. if you're reading this, you may also be like me and have the largest amount of anxiety thinking about needing surgery. honestly, my dentist when I was in my teens casually mentioned you probably want to get your wisdom teeth removed at some point, but one came in fully and they never were a bother so it was one of those things you can file away and forget about. until you can't. in my late 20s now, I suddenly had gum pain near one of my wisdom teeth. dentist took one look and explained the tooth was rubbing against the gum trying to grow in and will keep this irritation cycle going -- the solution long term is removal. yikes! I spent a lot of time scouring the inter webs trying to find a trustable oral surgeon and my search led me to Three Rivers. I had originally planned on getting a second opinion, but honestly, there was no need. the first appointment was a consult. I had a pano X-ray taken and then dr. jelmini went over the X-ray, agreeing that I should remove them. he patiently answered my antsy questions, reassuring me with honesty about what to expect. we talked about anesthesia options, and me being the antsy person I am, decided upon IV sedation. I was curious about PRF because I'm quite the science nerd and had been reading about this optional add-on, and dr. jelmini was more than happy to honor my request. a few days before the big day, prescriptions for helping with pain and nausea were sent over to the pharmacy. the big day came and I was SO nervous! the thought of going under! the whole process was so smooth. I checked in, took care of payment and then waited a couple minutes before being called back. Lindsay was so patient noticing my stress. honestly, everyone here was so calm and professional and it really helped calm my nerves. before I knew it, the IV was in, dr. jelmini asked how I was doing, and--- I was out! seriously, when you hear people say propofol is like a nap, they aren't kidding. I honestly have no recollection of the moment I was given propofol and it felt like a minute later and I was waking up. very groggy. the whole procedure must have been what 45 minutes tops? plan on getting lots of rest. I was so pleasantly surprised to see dr. jelmini call later in the day to make sure I was doing okay. make sure you follow the post-op advice for a smooth recovery! every day got better exponentially, and within a few days I was feeling more like myself. it just takes a bit of time to get used to the modified diet for a few weeks. I'm so glad I'm on the other side of wisdom teeth surgery, but if I could, I'd tell my younger self that it'll be okay and you're in good hands with the professional and kind staff at Three Rivers. Dr. Jelmini had excellent bedside manners, understands the anxiousness and knows what he's doing. I really appreciate how all the doctors here are up to date on the latest science, presenting regularly at conferences. Thank you, Three Rivers! I sincerely hope I never need oral surgery ever again, but thank you for advancing the field with kindness!

Dr. Swiderski told me that TWO teeth needed to be pulled, because the one next to Bad Tooth was loose (fine, just a little) and the infection had basically caused too much bone loss. As is my way, I tried to air a grievance about this (and yes, I actually said "I'd like to air a grievance!"), noting that my Googling was surely as good as Dr. Swiderski's several advanced degrees and his prestigious residency at the Mayo Clinic. Perhaps not surprisingly, I was shot down, albeit nicely considering I was of course talking nonsense. All of the assistants are wonderful too, as I kept warning them that "I'm a baby about this stuff" and "it takes a lot of novocaine to work" and making the sad face of dread. Oh, and the x-ray apparatus they have is very high-tech! Regular plates hurt my mouth because I have mandibular tori (which I didn't even know weren't normal until I was an adult), but here they have a whirring machine that rotates and magically takes x-rays. Also, because I have a lot of stuff going on with my teeth, I was happy that Dr. S. mentioned cost, as in "let's triage and get the most critical stuff taken care of first" - not because he knew anything about my financial situation, but because dental/medical stuff is expensive and most insurance (including mine) has ridiculously low caps on what they'll pay out in total for dentistry. So, the point. This was a complicated dental surgery because so much of the bone was eaten away and it involved two teeth and I'm a wimp about anything dental-related....but I'll have to go back for follow up and probably bone grafting, and I actually don't dread it. That's how nice everyone there is, and how hard they work to make sure this is as pain-free as possible, so much unlike the root canal sadistic nightmares of my youth. It's also nice of Dr. Swiderski to check in the evening after surgery to make sure we're doing okay. Overall, if you need dental surgery, I highly recommend Dr. Swiderski and crew!

I went to have work done at usual in-network dental office; due to not having any open appointments in a timely manner, they referred me to the endodontist in this same building, under the guise that all would be paid for by my insurance. When I arrive, they tell me they will need an x-ray to fully understand the problem with my tooth. So, of course I agree, as x-rays do not usually entail out of pocket costs. They send me down to this office to have the x-ray because they state they don't have one in that office. They failed to tell me that I would going to a completely different business to have this done. They also failed to convey that I would have to pay costs not covered by my insurance. It seems they have an agreement with each other to shadily drum up business. ***UPDATE*** I called today to get an itemized bill, per Kaiser's request. I was then informed, only after asking for proof of this bill, that the charge had been written off and I no longer owe anything. I also asked for proof of the zero balance and they refused to provide anything in writing. BE VERY CAREFUL AT THIS OFFICE. THEY WILL DEFINITELY LIE TO YOU AND CHEAT YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY.

Dr. Ugalde and his team are far beyond 5 stars in every way. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

What a great experience in having these issues addressed. From making the appointment and having fillable forms emailed with a submit option started on the right note to easily get the details without filling out forms in their office. The staff was ready for me upon arrival. I arrived at 2:20 for a 2:30 appointment, was called in at 2:25, and was out the door with a completed extraction at 3:03, WOW! The receptionists were very personable, and the staff was no nonsense. Explained what would happen, started the procedure and finished quickly. No pain, Dr. Ugalde is pretty humorous, and extremely professional. He even called me at 8:09 that evening to confirm I was doing alright. Better than alright, not even needing ibuprofen, really no pain. I have zero apprehension for the rest of the procedure getting the implant completed with these folks. I highly recommend them for any service you may need from an oral surgeon, along with an example how every staff should interact with their customers. Only 5 stars available but I would give them a 10 on the experience.

The overall experience was poor. They only provide out of network insurance coverage, which typically means an increased cost to the patient, but I was assured by Dr. Lieblick the surgery would be uncomplicated after doing X-rays and I was eager to have some pain relief and get rid of the problem. After my surgery, there was no post op check from the doctor, I was monitored by a dental assistant until my spouse picked me up. I had questions regarding the procedure, but he had already stepped into his next case so no review or discharge was given from him. One week after the surgery, I was still in extensive pain that radiated to my jaw and temple, significant swelling across my face and in the back of my throat making it difficult to swallow, and a foul taste in my mouth. Giving benefit of the doubt, I did a call consultation on a Saturday where the on call doctor, Dr. Rehrer, told me to "ride it out" because the symptoms were normal, but offered to come in if the information above persisted on Monday. I did, so they were able to squeeze me in where Dr. Rehrer took a quick look inside my mouth and told me "everything looks fine, unfortunately you have delayed healing." I came in that Monday seeking help and instead felt dismissed by the surgeon. As a first time mom who is currently nursing and having all these dental issues it has been extremely difficult and painful to eat and even swallow liquid due to swelling and Dr. Rehrer did not offer any further assistance or empathy for that matter. Still in pain, I sought a second opinion from another doctor. They told me Dr. Lieblick left an exposed root, I had dry socket, and I was started on antibiotics and even steroids for the major inflammation. With such a vast difference on the post care diagnosis - I can't help but write a poor review based on my surgery, post op care, and overall experience that left me feeling neglected as a patient. I would not recommend this office to a friend

They originally weren't able to schedule me until sometime in January but I told them was really hoping to get this done by the end of the year and much to my surprise they later called to offer me an appointment for December 29. One thing they warned me about at my initial consult was that the cone beam CT scan they were going to perform was likely to not be covered by insurance and that I might need to pay the $185 cost out of pocket. This turned out not to be the case but I appreciated the heads up and would have gladly paid it had insurance not covered it. As for the surgery itself, literally the most painful part was when they put the IV in. I was 37 at the time so I was a little worried I might not heal as well as a more typical younger patient but this didn't turn out to be the case. Post-op pain for me was pretty much zero the first couple days and peaked around 4-5 days after but was never much more than an annoyance which I easily managed with ibuprofen.
