I like to post reviews in the hope the management sees it and takes action…read more I booked this hotel based on the very positive reviews I read online. We are 2 adults that stayed for 2 nights. Positives: very clean room, lots of clean, white & fluffy towels, shampoo/conditioner and small bar of shower soap was given, small fridge and small microwave were helpful, designated parking spot in front of the room door, easy check in, easy check out and nice little snacks every morning were available with assorted teas and Keurig coffee machine. The strip mall with Shop Rite and assorted restaurants were just down the road about 2 minutes drive. Things that would make it better and would make me come again: #1 a new mattress. My bed felt lumpy and if I sat on it, the other end of the mattress would bounce up. It was like a water bed or something like that. I couldn't sleep. #2 Please put light blocking curtains or shades. The morning sun shines right into the room and that was really annoying, having full sunlight coming into the room with no way to block any of it. #3 The air conditioner worked but it was extremely LOUD. At night I turned it off in an effort to sleep in a quiet atmosphere, but then it got hot and there was no fan so I had to turn the really loud AC back on. #4 This room had 2 beds in it. But only 1 chair. Please - put 2 chairs in the room. #5 Bedsheets are too small for the size and thickness of the mattress Overall, it was very clean and convenient, but due to the uncomfortable bed and full sun into my face, I cannot book this again.

It's a basic motel that you'd see in an 80s movie, but it has cable, good wifi, and comfy beds. for just the two of us, it was perfect. the owners are extremely friendly and there's free pastries under the holly tree every morning. it was nice being 10 mins from ocean city, and only about a half hour from wildwood, atlantic city and cape may; far enough from the hustle and bustle but close enough to enjoy any of the many beaches in the area. my only complaint is that in the morning before we left we discovered ants crawling all around the bathroom floor, but it's better than cockroaches. all in all, very good motel for the price and we would stay here again.

My family and I recently rented an apartment here for a week and we were very happy!…read moreThe apartment was very spacious and well appointed. My only complaint is that the futon in the living room as ridiculously uncomfortable. But thankfully the beds were super comfy! The pool at the hotel is really nice and there are plenty of chairs, so you don't have to get up at dawn and throw your beach towels down! It's heated too. The beach and boardwalk are in walking distance as well so there's always something to do. My family and I have been staying here for years and will continue to do so! Highly recommended.

Update: it's been 4 years since the Gallelli's sold it. The rooms look amazing very nice and…read moreupdated. The reason I give it two stars (I'd give 2.5) is the exterior. Considering what it used to be it looks horrendous and just terrible. It used to be a landmark and a famous hotel on OC with beautiful plants, facade, a cool waterfall and looked like a nice little tropical escape. Yeah 4 years ago were the rooms looking a little worn and needing renovation but it was still cleaner than any other hotel I was ever in and noting broken. The pool was so much fun, plenty of shade a really cool waterfall, nice tropical plants. The office was warm and welcoming. Now it's just a hunk of "modernization" if that makes sense. The office looks like a dentist office. All white, no character. The famous exterior lava rock , plants, and waterfall... gone. Plain old wood panels with the "modern" white wood tile things. All the plants are gone in the front and replaced with grass. Everything is white, gray, and blue gray. For lack of better words it looks like crap. Worst thing tho is the pool looks sad and empty, no more waterfall. ITS GONE!!! It looks like how the pool used to look in the 60's and 70's. The fun welcoming atmosphere is gone. And it's sad to see it go. Ocean city lost a gem, hopefully to be one day restored to its former glory. The new owners made a promise to continue the legacy of the hotel and keep the name. LIARS!!!! It's now named "Ocean's Edge" and are quickly killing (if they haven't already) the legacy.

Being our first trip with a massive 42ft 5th wheel I was extremely relieved to be greeted and assisted. Several staff offered assistance backing in. Each spot is cozy and displays well maintained amenities. Extremely clean bath houses, even the soap dispensers had soap in them! We decided to extend our stay after an amazing few days! Each road and site has a compacted layer of crushed asphalt and clear direction on which way to travel. Open Season Spots at this site won't last long once people see the all new attractions such as pool, handicap accessible cabins and mini golf. Also have a large beautiful pavilion and cornhole tournament area. There is a kids playground, basketball court, general store stocked with must have essentials including ice cream soft serve and breakfast eggs, etc. Have pets? There is an enclosed dog park! Great water pressure and daily pump outs if you call before 10am! The owner Gary is very approachable so is all the staff! This place is a perfect balance between outdoor tranquility, fun, and creature comforts. We are so happy we came across this place! Thank you to the staff for a truly memorable start to 2023!

We don't own an RV and tent camping is not for us. We found this gem in my search for a place to stay. The cabins are gorgeous! Brand new with full kitchen, bathroom/shower, 2 bedrooms, with comfy futon as well. The amenities were great - brand new pool with splash pad, mini golf, nice new playground, and basketball. The shop is also nice to get some ice cream, and to pick up anything you might have forgotten. Beautiful new pavilion too! We would absolutely stay here again when we want the woodsy experience by the shore. It's centrally located too to many shore points. Ocean city is 25 minutes or so away. Same for Wildwood/Capemay - we spent one day in Ocean City, and another day in Wildwood, and ended with dinner in Cape May! FYI - the water smells like sulfur here. Not their fault, but I personally wouldn't drink it.

Let me start off by saying I really love it here. The family who owns the Dunes also owns The…read moreHarbor Inn, The Seward (where you check-in, regardless of which motel you are staying at), and The Colonial Lodge, which are all within a few blocks of each other. My husband and I stayed at the Harbor Inn last year, so we chose to switch it up and stay at the Dunes this year. We opted for the King bed room, sans kitchenette (they do offer a King room with a small kitchenette, which looks nice on their site), which includes a fridge (no freezer), a small-ish flat screen TV (awesome), a microwave, coffee maker, and (obviously) a smaller-ish bathroom. Everything is spotless, and cleanliness plays a HUGE roll for me when I review a motel/hotel. The woman who cleans the rooms, Shirley, is friendly and personable and does an amazing job of keeping this nice and tidy here. It's amazing when you're staying a block from the beach, and don't find sand in your room from previous guests, way to go Shirley! The bed is a little on the super firm side, and I have a pretty bad back, so no complaints there from my. My husband would've preferred a bit more cushion, but he's a little too picky sometimes ;) We stayed (staying? I'm typing this from the King bed in our room, hehe) on the second floor, room 201 to be exact, which had a nice patio-like balcony seating area. Each room has two chairs outside on the balcony, a small table, and an ash tray, which works for me because both my husband and I do smoke. Next to our balcony, there is a larger balcony, equipped with an awning over part of it, chairs and tables, and also lounge-like outdoor chairs, which are closer to the balcony railing and in the sun, nice for laying out on and getting some sun. Parking is scarce here, as far as the actual parking lot goes, and it is difficult to find a spot and keep it, as other guests who weren't able to get a spot are like vultures; as soon as you pull out of you're spot, they're right behind ya pulling in. The smaller rooms do not include parking. There is ample street parking, which is free from 9pm to 10am. There is no pool here, but you're a block away from the beach. Beach over the pool any day, in my opinion. And why else would you be staying down the shore, other than for awesome beach time. They also have an outdoor shower and clotheslines around the side of the building, next to where the ice machine is. Great for rinsing off after the beach and hanging your towels up to dry. This is a HUGE plus for me. I HATE tracking sand into my room; I like leaving the beach AT the beach. I frequent the shore every year, as I am a south Jersey native, and am only about an hour away from Stone Harbor (35 mins from AC). Sometimes, I like to stay down here for a few days, rather than just come for a day and go home. The Dunes, and it's "sister" motels, is definitely a place I will be returning to in summers to come. Clean rooms, a block away from the beach, that are reasonably priced (considering it's the shore) is all I need for a happy vacation.

When the waitress turned the corner I saw what looked like a 3 layer savory cake, in sandwich form. It looked like it had been made by someone trying to prove a point. You would have thought it was prepared for the inventor of the club sandwich. Freshly cut turkey, crispy fresh bacon, beautiful marbled rye, fresh lettuce and tomato, all piled so high you feel like it was a fire sale. Everything must go! I took half home and when I finished it 6 hours later, it was just as good or better. My goodness it was fantastic. I think my mom wishes it wasn't quite so delicious as I currently won't shut the fuck up about it. I'm already thinking about our next visit
