I have mixed feelings about our experience with Alpha Financial this year. I do want to acknowledge that their office experienced a death, and I understand that this has understandably caused delays and put them behind. I have tried to be patient and understanding of that situation. Unfortunately, our experience with communication has also been very frustrating. We have primarily dealt with one of the secretaries, and I have found her communication to be rude and, at times, unnecessarily difficult. I am not particularly knowledgeable about technical or IT-related matters, and instead of making things easier to understand, the process has often been confusing and overwhelming. I understand that tax season can be extremely busy and that unexpected circumstances happen. However, when you have entrusted someone with your taxes for six months, you expect clear communication, reasonable updates, and to be treated respectfully when you have questions. I hope Alpha Financial can improve their communication with clients going forward. The delay itself is understandable given the circumstances, but the lack of clear communication and the way some questions have been handled have made an already stressful situation much more difficult.

This firm's negligence caused over $900 in penalties and fees which they refuse to take…read moreaccountability. We worked with them for the first time in 2024. They had all of the documetation already in their system. As 2025, I gave all of the tax forms by mid march. They were backlogged due to the passing of one of their associates. I had no issue with them filing an extension, however I was very clear that I didn't want to incur any fees or penalties not just by phone calls but I actually went in person a few times weeks before April 15th. I asked if I had to make a payment, I was assured by the owner Ric himself not to worry. They would let me know. April 15th came and went. After continuing to follow up and not get a response, I was fed up being ingnored. They had been passed my account to an assoiciate I never met. I decided to take my documents to Rocky Hill Accountants. They were able to complete my return next day. The effects of getting blown off by Alpha cause penalties in excess of $900. And I was told I will still be recieving penalty letters in the mail. Ric claimed he had personally left texts and voicemails. Not once did I get communication from him. I even asked for proof so we can make sure there was no discrepency. Sure enough my phone logs show absolutely no contact from them. When I brought this to their attention they stopped responding. Do yourself a favor and get your taxes done anywhere but here!
