At first they seemed to be doing a great job, they arrived on time and worked hard all day. But as time went on their appearance became more random and their quality of work became questionable. They would make constant little mistakes, some cosmetic and others clearly due to lack of skill or training. And I am not talking about issues only detectable by a perfectionist or very knowledgeable remodeler or decorator. I am talking about things that seemed to violate basic common sense. Some mistakes they would competently repair, some they would not acknowledge, and some they would try to hide from us. By the time the project was allegedly complete we had a long list of issues with their work, but all we got in response was their bill. Apparently those dozen+ remaining mistakes, missteps, install errors, and other issues were just not their problem. After spending several thousand dollars we had to become DIY'ers to fix all of their mistakes ourselves. Not what one expects after hiring a contractor to do the work for you. Needless to say we won't be using Houtman for any future projects and we have already gone back to those who recommended them in the first place and informed them of our experience.

I contacted Perrys Electric about installing a mini split system in my house. They came to look at…read moremy property, we come up with a basic plan and they gave me a quote. Once I accepted their quote they were able to order the equipment and start the install. The equipment took about two weeks to arrive and they were able to start the installation process right away. The overall time it took them to install the mini split system, which consisted of the outdoor unit and three indoor units, was three days. I was very surprised at how quick the equipment came in and how fast they were able to get it installed. The quality of the installation was excellent and they were able to run and install everything the way I envisioned. They also cleaned up very well after themselves. All the technicians were very knowledgeable about the system and were able to answer any questions that I asked them. The only negative thing I have to say about them is that they were not the best at keeping the customer up to date or giving them information about the system without the customer having to ask for it themselves. The negative comment is a personal one that I felt, but might not matter for other customers. I am just a person that likes to know what is going on and how to take care of proper maintenance tasks, so I am always asking questions. As long as the customer comes up with all questions beforehand to ask them about the system, then there will be no issue at all as they are extremely knowledgeable about their work. Overall I would give them 4.5 stars due to the lack of information given to me without having to ask for it. Going off of their installation alone gives them 5 stars and I would recommend them to anyone.
