Million Kids is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that combats human trafficking. Locally, we serve on the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force.
Million Kids serves as the Training and Outreach Coordinator for the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force. In this capacity, we go into the public high schools and middle schools of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties and train school administrators, teachers, counselors, psychologists, nurses, as well as the students, about how to stay safe and avoid being lured in by predators. We make presentations at many local churches to educate parents and grandparents about child trafficking. We present at Rotary's, Soroptomist Clubs and Chambers of Commerce. We have trained nearly 35,000 individuals including government officials, school administrators, civic leaders, philanthropic organizations, churches and synagogues, as well as, parents and young people about child trafficking in the Inland Empire.
History
Established in 2008.
Million Kids began with a simple concept. We believe if the bad guys are harming this many children a year, then the good guys must help even more. And with the efforts of our partners and your support, we can.
Million Kids works with local law enforcement and concerned citizens, businesses, and organizations to end human trafficking domestically. Locally, we serve on the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (RCAHT). We help activists and communities develop effective anti-trafficking programs in their locales. We educate and engage individuals, organizations and corporations about human trafficking. Internationally, we conduct programs and work with partners to serve rescued children and to create prevention strategies. We provide local solutions while taking a global perspective on the human trafficking problem.
Meet the Business Owner: Opal S.
Opal Singleton serves as the President and CEO of Million Kids and the Director of Development for Rapha House International. As a retired business executive in International Marketing, Opal understands that to win the battle to rescue and support victims of trafficking requires the creative resources of an entire community.
Fighting against perpetrators of child trafficking is not for lightweights. This battle requires the expertise and resources of everyone in the community. Whether it is in Cambodia, Thailand or right here in our own backyard in Riverside, CA, everyone must come together to protect our young people and vulnerable persons against perpetrators.
Opal meets with business executives, city and county officials, community action groups and concerned individuals to explore ways that they can strengthen the fight against trafficking in their community.
