This is a rather drab little pub sitting on the cusp of Sea Mills and Stoke Bishop. It still gets quite busy though, mainly due to the lack of any local comptition. (Local legend has it that Sea Mills was founded by Quakers which means that pubs are not allowed in the vicinity.)
Other than this, there isn't a great deal to recommend it. It's a one room establishment, albeit on a split level, with an unremarkable interior, seating out the front and a local clientele strangely split between those from well to do Stoke Bishop and the notably less salubrious Sea Mills.
There's a pic of David Jason on the wall enjoying a pint at the bar during a break from filming (Boycey's garrish mock mansion is around the corner), but despite this when I lived in the area I still preferred to make the mile or so walk to the better pubs in Westbury-on-Trym. read more
