FRAUD! AVOID! Ace took my online order to be picked up in the store. they sent a confirmation the item was ready for pickup. I went to get the item, they told me they didn't have it and canceled the order but refused to give me my money back. Said it had to come from Corporate and would take 7-10 days. Two full weeks later and I never got my money back. They said I'd have to contact my bank and file a claim. Local store management said they are independent of Ace corporate and could not help me. DO NOT BUY FROM ACE! They take your money, waste your time, won't give you the time and refuse to return your money! You won't have this issue with the big box stores. blatant fraud of a business! read more

The sales people stand in clusters talking to each other and ignore the customers. Or they are staring at their phones and don't even see the customers. The place is filthy. The floors are so stained and dirty. All the trash cans are spilling over onto the floor. It's really disgusting! read more

Small town hardware store. A nice option if you are in a pinch and don't want to make the journey to a larger hardware store like lowes or home depot. I ordered a decorative log display online, and picked up in the store. We were missing a few bolts when we tried putting it together and will just have to find them elsewhere. read more

This place is always closed. Every time I try to grab something quick - closed. The few times I have been able to get in they act like a bunch of COVID brownshirts, which is just plane exhausting at this point and out of line with other stores. Used to LOVE to support this local hardware store...but went here and tried to pay in cash and they wouldn't accept it. RIDICULOUS logic. Lost a lot of respect for this place and the owners. As a matter of principal, I'll no longer support this business even after they "return to normal and start accepting cash again. Lol. So instead i went and bought my DeWalt Saw at the Home Depot. That is 400 Miller's lost. I have no doubt they won't care. In the long run, they'll eventually feel it. It's just the principal of the thing. They won't take cash, but they hand you a receipt, you can do a return, they open their mail and all orders and stock from other countries even. Sad to see a business I once lived do this. This is a small town hardware store with knowledgeable staff. They do not have a huge staff and sometimes you have to wait for a person to help, but these people know what they are talking about and how to actually fix things. I prefer shopping small. Glad this store is here. read more

I took my pressure washer here for factory authorized warranty service. Another serc in ce provider told me they weee 6 weeks behind on repairs, Millers said "maybe two weeks at most". Dropped it off Tuesday afternoon and got the call it was ready the following Weds morning. Was given a very detailed explaination of what they found and what the rwpair entailed. Rented equipment did not work. When brought back to store, machine was taken in back room and brought back out working. Employee said it was working and was not willing to give credit for lost time. Equipment worked properly after getting back home but malfunctioned again befor finishing. After much finagling was able to get it working again. Different employee accepted return of equipment when finished but would not listen to full explanation of malfunction again. Very poor customer relation skills. read more

Friendly, helpful staff. They manage to jam quite a bit into this little store and I much prefer it to the big box stores. I almost always find what I am looking for here. You can find just about anything here from a plunger when your porcelain princess pukes back at you, to an exotic collection of bird feed, more Christmas lights than the Griswald's and enough Weber and Yeti products to max out your AMEX that are actually priced better than Amazon! Greg, the owner, is a fantastic gentleman and his employees know what they are talking about and eager to help you. You rarely find these kind of employees at the Big Box stores and this is where Ace sets itself apart from it's competitors. They really are people and these people serve their customers very well and I always go to Ace first because I trust them and enjoy doing business with them to support the local economy, not Wall Street. read more

I will not be returning to this store. Today I picked up a bag of birdseed that was on a display shelf marked "On Sale". I waited in line to check out, and when rung up the item was full price. I questioned the amount, so the cashier contacted someone about a price check. The "manager" eventually told the cashier it was not on sale... "only the 20 lb bag." whatever that meant. I told the cashier I would walk back and pick out something else, and also I wanted to check the shelf myself as perhaps I had picked up the wrong item or was confused about the sale tag. The manager saw me, ran ahead of me and ripped 2 sale tags off the shelf and then told me the tags were wrong... and were from a July Sale. (It's now Aug 4th.(?)) I then said to him... It seems you need to get your "sale tags" fixed up. He snapped at me and said " We can't get to everything!" I guess "the customer is always right" doesn't apply here! Another store might have honored the sale price... or at least offered me an apology for my inconvenience. You have lost a customer! I will not be back. read more

I purchased 2 new Stihl pieces of equipment in September of last year, a string trimmer and a vac/blower. This year my new Stihl string trimmer would not start and acted like it had dirt in the carb. It still had the original stabilized fuel from Millers and had only been used twice. I took it back to Miller and they serviced it for me no charge and I got it back the next day! That my friends is customer service! I now have my eye on a new Weber grill for $549, I can buy it $10 cheaper elsewhere but they will build it for me from free. Combine that with the recent customer service and they will get the sale again. I was never a True Value Hardware customer till the last few years, I'm liking how they do business. read more

I have shopped here for years because they are local, even though the prices are much higher than Lowes or Home Depot. Tried to return a small container of ice melt because it was hard as a rock. I could not break it with a hammer. Manager refused and said I should try to chop it with a sharp knife.(what a smart ass or idiot!) So over $9, they lost a 20 year customer. It is just a short drive further to Lowes, who would have accepted the return or credited it on future purchase. read more

Do not shop here if you are female ---Especially an older female. I went to the McMurray store 5/19 to take advantage of the half off paint sale. I picked out 4 colors (Valspar chips) and clearly asked for the" highest quality available" -- due to the sale it was chaos and I waited over an hour and then went to check-out waited there--- gave my credit card and FINALLT GOT OUT OF THERE. When I got home I realized that the paint I received was the "LOWEST QUALITY". I called the manager, Woody, explained the problem , and he told me to bring the paint in and he would "eat 10 gallons" and I could get what I originally ordered. I went in and "GREG" told me in no uncertain terms that I WAS WRONG ___ AND HE ABSOLUTELY WAS NOTGOING TO DO ANYTHING !!!! VERY RUDE when I asked to see Woody and reminded him of our conversation, he denied everything and also treated me very rudely -- They left it with "LADY" WE WILL BE GLAD TO HELP YOU TO YOUR CAR (tee hee) I have never been more embarrassed or treated more rudely. PLEASE AVOID ACE -- when I got to the parking lot I was told by another worker that they were pushing the cheap paint and other people complained!!!!! DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE !!!! I called them today to get a price on two items- topsoil and grass seed. Topsoil was quoted at 2.49 a 40 pound bag, and Penn State grass seed, 11.99 for a 5 pound bag- far from the lowest cost, but they were close so I decided to pay the extra. When I got there I was told that the prices were 2.99 a bag for topsoil and 14 for the Penn State grass seed. The cashier said that they'd honor the phone quote. Then a manager of some sort came around and said, "our prices are clearly marked, those are the prices". I said thanks and walked out, and, I was leaving, he said in a real sarcastic tone of voice, "you have a lovely day". I'm driving down to Walmat where 40 pound bags of topsoil go for $1.37 and the grass seed is also a lot cheaper. If Miller doesn't care that much about its customers, I won't even go in there for small hardware items anymore. The hardware stores in Canonsburg are close enough. read more
