Horrible!!! My kids school bus driver is so rude. We live 5 miles from the bus stop. The first unsafe thing was when he got to the bus stop 12 mins early told my 9year olds that they had to get off the bus and walk home. He then told them that if they did not get off the bus he would call the police on them. When I called Millers Transportation they stated that it was the schools rule not there's. When I called the school they stated they they absolutely do not have that as a rule. 5 miles for 2, 9 year old girls to walk on a street that does not have sidewalks and they would have to cross a 5 lane street. He has no idea where we live. Thankfully one of my daughters was smart enough not to get off the bus and would not let my other daughter off either. There is 2 other children , younger then my girls, that he makes get off the bus even when their grown up is not there. I have had to wait multiple times with the other kids so they are not alone in a parking lot of a large shopping center. He will only stop for 10seconds and if they are not out of the car he will not wait for them. When I went to the next bus stop so they could get on the bus. He did not stop at all. read more

If you find out your kids school uses Miller Transportation here in Indianapolis, you're probably better off finding your child a new school to go to. I used to love my miller part of my monthly trip too and from but now I can't say so, numerous times I've had to have my bf drive me to Indianapolis to catch my connecting greyhound bus bc the killer bus either never came or didn't stop at the bus stop that it has stopped at for all 5 years I've took the bus, and when I called they gave me zero explanation zero refund zero help couldn't even tell me if it was or wasn't coming and not only that but the friendly helpful workers I used to see every month are replaced with rude snide problematic workers that while being rude will lie straight to your face I'm so disappointed with what's happened to them not only are they no better than greyhound now but they may be even worse. This is terrible. I was forced to ride on this awful bus company! My sons field trip to Cincinnati. On the way to Ohio, the drivers were pulling over on the shoulder two or three times.. waiting on the other buses I guess to stay together? Then at lunch --the bus drivers were the first to the buffet- eating like it was their last meal.. ha ha So - I'm already over this low budget transpo- Then one of the other buses breaks down on the way back to school- once again our bus is pulled to the shoulder of the road!!! ***0 STARS.... I don't even know where to begin. I will start by saying I had no idea I was booking a third party to give me a ride to Indianapolis, Indiana from Hammond, Indiana. I booked my trip on Greyhound.com and once I purchased my ticket for $51.99 I was emailed a ticket that said the pick up was on Thursday September 26th, Leaving from Hammond at 7:45 AM and it boards at 7:25 AM. The ticket also says: "At Greyhound we board 20 minutes before departure time. Give yourself plenty of time to check your bags at the ticket counter and find your gate" My dad dropped me off at a random Shell Gas Station located at 3350 Calumet Ave, Hammond, IN conveniently located in the ghetto and two doors down from a strip club. Before my dad left I went inside to ask the Shell employees what the bus looked like and where could I find it when it arrived. They told me you can't miss it, it is a Greyhound Bus that pulls up along the side of the gas station and one of the workers pointed out to me where then normally pick up and proceeded to say they usually arrive at 7:45AM exactly. Let me point out NO TICKET COUNTER and NO GATE... RANDOM GAS STATION IN A REALLY BAD PART OF TOWN. Around 7:37 AM a Big Blue Bus pulled into the gas station parking lot and pulled behind a vehicle that was pumping gas which to me indicated this bus was waiting for the car to pull out so that they could pump their gas, because why on Earth would I think that a bus picking up people and luggage would pull into where you pump your gas? Especially after I was told it pulls up to the side of the gas station. Also I would like to make note that the ticket does not indicate any special instructions or description of the bus so since I booked a Greyhound Bus my eyes were looking for a Greyhound Bus. The bus then pulled up once the car pulled out in front of it and just sat for about a minute. I thought to myself could this be the bus? I was confused because I could not see into the bus, no one came off of the bus, and it was all blue covered in Blue Chip Casino logos which I know is located in Michigan City so why would this Blue Chip Casino Bus be my ride to Indianapolis? Did not make sense. I then went to the back of the Shell Station where about 3 employees were stocking items and asked Excuse Me could this be the Greyhound Bus out front that says Blue Chip Casino and one employee said no its a Greyhound Bus and the other said I think that is it. So I go out the door to run towards it and the bus whipped out of the lot and pulled away. It was 7:40AM when the bus pulled away and I know this because I quickly picked up my phone to call for help. In a panic I dialed the number on my ticket which said for help call Greyhound and when they answered I provided my confirmation # and asked if there was anyway they could dispatch my bus and have them come back because I had no idea it was them and felt unsafe approaching a mysterious bus at 7:40AM. Greyhound said they could not help because this was in fact not a Greyhound Bus that I booked on Greyhound.com it was a booking thru Miller Transportation and I was then provided with a random number that did not appear anywhere on my ticket and I dialed it to have a bitchy woman answer who transferred me to her supervisor. Her supervisor was so rude and obnoxious towards me. He continuously threatened me saying he would send me screen shots to my cell phone of his GPS records that indicated his driver pulled out of the Shell Station at 7:47 AM when my phone records indicate I called Greyhound at 7:40 AM in a panic that my bus left before its departure time and expressing my concern that I was confused as to why a Blue Chip Casino Bus was picking me up. The guy at Miller Transportation told me to get to the Gary Bus stop if I wanted and needed a ride that bad which there was no way I could get to in time and also I was beyond confused because the ticket I had purchased said it was a non stop trip to Indianapolis so why would my bus be stopping in Gary Indiana? I did not agree to anything saying I wanted to stop in Gary, Indiana which is even sketchier than Northern Hammond. The guy at Miller refused to issue me a refund and said it was not his problem literally as he screamed over me. He literally hung up on me. I then called Greyhound, keep in mind all the while I am stranded in North Hammond by myself with a backpack and then a random guy in a pick up truck pulled up yelling towards me about how I looked in distress and asked if I needed help but it did not seem genuine, it seemed flat out creepy. Almost like some weird, strange set up. Greyhound said over and over they had nothing to do with the ticket purchased and that I needed to contact Miller Transportation. I could have honestly hitchhiked to Indy and it would have been safer and more reliable. Please NEVER consider Greyhound, Miller Transportation, or Hoosier Ride b/c they are all affiliated no matter HOW DESPERATE YOU ARE! read more

I chaperoned the field trip to Marengo Cave on Tuesday October 30th and would like to share my thoughts on Miller Transportation. I strongly recommend you not use this company again for the safety reasons. Half of our grade went on Monday, I didn't think our trip could be worse. I mean what are the chances another bus would break down and the buses would leave late again? I was really surprised to hear that chaperones had to alternate sitting on the floor because the back-up bus they sent to pick up stranded children was too small. Besides no buses being at our school Tuesday morning at the scheduled 8am time(we left at 9:05), I was shocked to hear a bus had broken down on the way to our school. Before we even made it out of the neighboring town of Westfield, our bus slammed on its brakes and almost rear ended the bus in front of us. Great start right? Half way down there on highway 37, our bus ran a red light (badly) and honked its horn through the intersection like a fire truck would! I was the first to use the bathroom on our bus and our toilet did not even flush front the beginning. Later, not one but THREE buses went the wrong direction on a ramp from 37 south to 64. It is a double entrance/exit ramp without a median between and the buses crossed the lines into what was the entrance ramp to 37 to exit and turn left onto 64. I've enclosed two pictures to show you what I am referring to. One is a google map with the area we were going the wrong way on in red, and the other is a picture I took on the way home as we were getting ready to turn right and enter the ramp to 37 that we had mistakenly exited on. Our bus driver watched the two buses before us do the wrong thing, was saying "What are they doing?" and then followed suit! On the way home, things were going smoothly until the bumper on the bus in front of us started falling off. Instead of pulling into the strip mall we were next to, it stopped in the right lane and our bus stopped behind it. They didn't even pull off the road (I've attached a picture). Two parents on my bus heard our driver say, "I told him/them it was going to fall off." So they knew the bumper had a problem from the beginning. Our driver gets back on after they tape the bumper and says we are going on and that bus was stopping at a hardware store to buy a drill. Next, a fellow mom beside me gets a text saying their bus (a different one I haven't mentioned) keeps powering down. She said it stopped four times on the ride home. That is three buses in one day with problems. read more

I feel after a recent experience I need to knock my review down a star. From the corporate side, I've never had any issues: I work with Todd and send him my itinerary and the number of buses I need, and he sends me a contract with pricing letter via email in under 48 hours. He is incredibly responsive and easy to work with, which makes my job a piece of cake. The first time I used Miller, the drivers were unclear on where to drop off my group. To avoid that snafu this time, I sent Todd a detailed description of where the buses should park to pick us up and where they should drop us off. He put it in the notes for the drivers. However, again the drivers were confused. First, one of the drivers was confused as to where to pick us up even though he already had the address and I repeated it to him multiple times over the phone. He was in the area but couldn't figure out where to go - did he not have MapQuest? Our phone connection was spotty and I could not understand where he was. Thankfully, he finally found the destination after coaching him on the phone for 15 minutes. Then, our fleet of four buses weren't all lined up ready to go at the same time. Miller always arrives about 30 min before you actually need them for some reason, but we couldn't find where the fourth bus had hidden out. Overall, I'm impressed with Miller on the corporate side of things, but there seems to be a lack of communication to the drivers. read more

***A place for negative stars is needed!!!*** I purchased a 'Greyhound' bus ticket online. Unfortunately, Miller/Hoosier is in charge of moving people around from big cities to small towns or vise versa, not the real Greyhound company. Miller/Hoosier has every restriction in the book when it comes to refunds or switching dates/times. This tactic is their real money maker right there- taking the public's money, and just keeping it no matter what!. When I called Greyhound for help; they said, I couldn't even pay to have the ticket changed. So pathetic!! A warning ***if you purchase tickets from Greyhound, operated by Miller/Hoosier they will not issued refunds for ANY reason and WON'T allow a change of date*** The government needs to step in to regulate their rules. They STEAL from the poor; the very people who is the bulk of their customers! Not all private corporations are good corporations. Miller/Hoosier is a bad corporation for sure!! read more

I wanted to report this, but the "contact us" link on your website was broken. I didn't ride a Miller bus, but I did observe a blatantly racist driver. I am not exactly sure what he had to do with our bus, or what announcement he was trying to make, but he walked our bus line and kept shouting something at the crowd. A black woman politely asked him about her destination (which was also mine) multiple times. He stared right at her and continued shouting his announcement that made no sense. He was making it a point to ignore her. You could see on passengers' faces that he wasn't making sense to anyone in the crowd and only added to the confusion (long story about a late bus). He then walked back to us (a group of white women) and said "if she had a ticket for my bus, I'd kick her right off!" and laughed? For what?? Asking a reasonable question about her trip? I have never seen someone be so rude, my jaw was on the floor along with others. I then asked him the same question she had been asking and he without hesitation he answered me, a white lady. I also didn't appreciate that he and other staff at the terminal found our incredibly frustrating situation humorous. This was an older male who was at the station with his bus on November 17 between maybe 3:00-4:30? He may have been driving north to Lafayette or Gary? Again, he wasn't make much sense so I am not sure. I hope Miller addresses this serious issue. read more

CAREFULL when you buy tickets online these people charge you more than what your authorized transaction. I bought a one way pass from Muncie to Indianapolis. On check out it says 15$ plus zero tax when I authorized the transaction it charged 36$! When I called them they said it says somewhere (only God and them know where) on the page is a mention of 21$ additional fees. Their fees are higher than the ticket itself. Anyway they refused to cancel the ticket or refund so I called the bank and they disputed it considering it a fraudulent transaction read more

I bought a ticket from Bloomington to Indiana thirty minutes before the bus was due to leave. Thirty minutes AFTER the bus was due to leave, the station agent came out to tell us that the bus had broken down. He didn't know where and just had a handwritten phone number for the driver who had said to call "after a while" to check up on him. He said that only Miller transportation could issue a refund if that's what we wanted. When we called the driver, he explained that his bus was broken down over two hours away. That is, he must have known well in advance that he would not arrive on time but chose not to tell the station agent until long after the bus was due. I called their customer service and asked what the status of the bus was and whether it would come late or not at all. The lady on the phone said that the person in charge of that would check and let me know within 30 minutes. Needless to say, they never called me back. Okay fine, so I eventually did something else to get to Indianapolis. But when I called in for a refund for a bus that broke down and never arrived after fraudulently selling tickets long after the bus was broken down, they said that in order to issue a refund, I should _mail_ them my original ticket and then they would issue a refund eventually. When I said that was ridiculous, the guy on the phone just cold hung up on me. No one throughout this whole process apologized or took any responsibility or showed even the tiniest shred of customer service. Luckily, the dispute process for credit cards was invented for just this purpose. What a hassle, though... what a total and complete *@$!% this bus company is. The company sent me a defective bus that left the bathroom inaccessible due to how the seat in front of the restroom would not move. We went a total of 6 hours with no restroom. The management admitted that they were at fault but would not offer compensation. This was a bad reflection on my organization as we were unable to meet basic human needs that come standard with a bus that we paid $1350 for. The company stated they will offer a slight discount on the next trip, but I do not feel comfortable or confident in this company anymore. Worst bus company ever. Last year we had to ride in a bus with no air. The bus was over 90 degrees inside. They wouldn't send another bus. We used again.. don't know why. This year. The bus had 8 seats broken down that we needed when they got there. Our parent chaperones had to get a tool box and screw on seats so we could leave. We had to pay for our own parking. We didn't know this so we had to go through purses finding money for parking in Chicago. When we got to the stop to switch drivers, there was one driver for two buses. We booked this months ago and they KNEW we had two buses. Another driver was located one hour and half away from the stop. Not fun waiting with 80 junior high kids. read more

I bought my son a round trip ticket from Kalamazoo michigan to Indianapolis, he left on the 8th of July and was scheduled to return on the 15th. Yesterday my mother went into the hospital with chest pain, the doctors at Methodist hospital told us to bring in family because they dont think she has much longer. I seen your policy when I bought these that said no refunds, my sons mother is on her way here to Indianapolis to pick up my son who is 16 years old. Hes the one who rode the Miller bus here. Well I called last to let someone know because I was told by one of your operators to call and even gave me the refund line. Our family is going through hell right now, I very well cant send my son back on the bus by himself after he lost his grandma. To my surprise in was told no refunds, i was shocked... so what is considered a refund if not this. Yall have a refund department. I let them know my phone call we being recorded and owning a business myself i have to be honest this looks like your company has no sympathy for my family, especially my son.... ALL OVER 67.00... Make sure to print your tickets on separate pages because the bus driver takes your ticket. They tried to charge me $15 to reprint my paper ticket after my second ticket was printed on the back of my first. Bus drivers overall are just not nice people to be around. I followed a bus for 30 miles on a two lane highway. The driver was speeding at least 10 mph over the limit the whole trip and never slowed down through the small burgs. I was so hoping a cop was nearby. December 11 at 4 pm from Portland Indiana to just North of Richmond Indiana on US 27. He was tailgating terribly as well. Not a safe trip for those on board! I purchased a round trip transfer for my daughter. When she arrived at the bus station, she found out the bus was going to be 3+ hours late and was told that she could wait for it, rebook for 6 PM (which was too late and voided the reason she needed to travel) or cancel and receive a refund. She opted to cancel and was provided with a phone number to call and request the refund. I left a message that day. No one called me back. 5 days later, after still not hearing back, I called again. The man I spoke with claimed the bus left 30 minutes late (not true - my daughter had not even left the bus station then because we were still trying to figure out what to do) and that any refunds would have been issued right at the counter. Also not true - where else would I have gotten his phone number? After he tried to indicate everything I said was incorrect, he told me to send a letter with receipts to request the refund. I did and haven't heard from anyone yet. I also want to point out that he did not even acknowledge that I had left a phone message 5 days earlier. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Awful experience. I purchased a ticket at the last minute to attend a funeral. The return bus leaving from Ft. Wayne, Indiana never showed up! You call customer service and they just say they are an answering service and nothing they can do. When I arrived there were people sitting outside for 5+ hours waiting on an eariler bus by your company that never showed up. The bus stop is outside with very limited cover and it was raining. We all got stuck packed on a Baron's bus that was horrible - loud, stinky, uncomfortable. The Baron's bus driver said your buses had not picked anyone up waiting all day at multiple locations and they were picking up your passengers! How do you operate a business treating people like that? Why do you bother to take a phone number if you don't call or text information? that was my first and my last experience riding a bus for travel. read more

I hired Miller Transportation to drive my Customers from a Convention to a Corporate Customer Appreciation Party. I communicated my needs and we confirmed them and my contact information several times. I was confident that they would meet my expectations. However, when it came time to pick up my Customers they did not communicate they were not at the pickup location we agreed on. No one from Miller Transportation contacted me to explain the alternate location. In the end some of my Customers did not make my party and we had a few thousand dollars in losses. No one is taking responsibility and the rep I worked with for months won't help me understand where it went wrong. I have no trust in this company. read more

We had 3 buses. On our way to Washington DC the driver in the lead bus kept swerving and falling asleep. We had to pull over so he could move around and drink coffee. We were in DC for 2 days. As we pulled out of DC our bus broke down. We had 42 students in a hot, broke down bus in rush hour traffic. After our bus was fixed and we were on the road our driver kept falling asleep. She swerved and hit a semi that was next to us. I took pictures and sent them to Miller Transportation. Nothing was ever responded. read more
