Unfortunately, the customer service one had come to expect from a local business no longer exists. Recently I purchased some trees at Bruce Miller Nursery, buying them during their dormant stage (no leaves or greenery) in order to plant them at the recommended time. I planted them immediately according to instructions and within a week of planting, one began to leaf out while the other showed no signs of life. Testing the branches, the tree was obviously dead and had been so at time of purchase a week earlier. I promptly returned the tree explaining the situation and was told there was 'no guarantee' was a plant left their property. I can understand this for flowers and other already greened plants, but not dormant trees! In the past this nursery had honored their 'guarantee' (as per their website) for trees. They did NOT replace or offer a refund, just basically said 'tough luck'. If you choose to use this nursery, beware!
