After a few years I decided I could return and was told I would have to start over as a new patient and couldn't get in for EIGHT MONTHS. I resigned myself to the fact that I would have to make the appointment and wait although I was in extreme pain. After waiting the required time and within a week of my appointment I received a phone call telling me that "the doctor wouldn't be in on the day of my appointment" and that I would have to wait an additional THREE MONTHS to see a doctor unless I wanted to see a PA...but that was TWO MORE MONTHS! I accepted the appointment with the PA as I was desperate to get in, but after reflecting on it decided that this was not the kind of care I was looking for. I feel that maybe they could have titrated their appointments out so that people who had been waiting so long to get in wouldn't have to wait so much longer. I cancelled the appointment and after a year now of waiting I am moving on to another practice. Put this practice on your back burner.

I was sent to this facility after being diagnosed at an urgent care, with a rotator cuff tear. The…read moreurgent care was not able to give me the required referral, and I was directed back to my primary care office who then directed me to this walk-in clinic because they could not see me at my primary. So I went to this walk-in clinic and I was told that they would only give me a referral if I self paid and did not use my insurance. Of course I did not do that. They take my insurance and without using it there is no protection by a contract on pricing And why would I pay hundreds of dollars when I should only have a co-pay. I only needed a referral. So here I sit with a torn rotator cuff and unable to see a doctor after being shook down by this location.

Millennial doctors suck they're stupid they need to go back to medical school. They prod you in and…read moreprod you out like a factory farm and they only mask your problems. They love it when you're on Medicare/ Medicaid , they keep on calling you to come in telling you you need an appointment because they are money grubs, can charge whatever they want on Medicare. We can't see it now we don't see the bills like we used to but millennial doctors always drop their patients if they don't like you, you went to med school to be a doctor but yet, if you don't like your patient, you drop them and you do it without even telling them , sooo wrong. you do it illegally, it's a factory farm and they don't cure you, everybody needs to get away from millennial and start looking to private doctors internal medicine private doctors millennial should be sued the way they treat people the way they yell at people. The waiting time is awful and dismissing patients you're sick as a dog and they're laughing at you while they dismiss you. doctors need to be caring, doctors do not care , and with the snowbirds, It takes forever to get a doctors appointment at millennial anyways two years neurologist wow don't go to millennial in Venice either . They just treat you like crap they treat senior citizens like crap they make fun of you don't go, and if you have a crappy florida blue, they won't take you cause they think your scum that's what I was told once by a secretary, but she said shush shush she said don't tell anyone. Hummmm. Of course that's gonna want me to say something now get away from millennial people they don't give a crap about you. It's all about money, money, money, greedy, greedy corporation.. the care is awful very awful. And the only reason why I gave a star because you have to give one as she can't put your opinion up here stay away from Venice, millennial and Venice stay away from all those doctors they're horrible. Especially Carol Finny. I asked her to fix me help me please cause I lost 20 pounds in one month. She said she didn't have time I said well can you take a less patient and then get your microscope out and check like enzymes, histamine, mass cells, and things like that, no nope they can't do that so I had to be my own advocate and find out what the hell was matter with me. Don't go to Carol Finny don't go to any millennial doctor. Let the snowbirds go there.

SMH - Venice- Atrocious Patient Advocacy!!…read more What a horrible way to treat human beings after you have made a mistake!!! Imagine laying naked on a gurney, hooked up to monitors, and being told you would need to pay Sarasota Memorial Hospital - Venice $9000 more dollars (in addition to the $3000 already paid) or they would not proceed with the surgical procedure you were about to be wheeled into. My insurance was an open-access plan and pre-authorization approval had been received and was confirmed. While un-hooking my monitors, SMH stated they had made a mistake and put the wrong insurance categorization in my file, apologized for their mistake, and on-the-spot reimbursed me the $3000 I had already paid, bringing me a refund receipt while I was on the gurney. However,... It had taken almost 4 months to get this procedure scheduled through the hospital. This has left me in position of needing to get established with a different doctor, with significant delays and the potential of having to re-take tests that were painful to endure. Additionally, I was left stranded at the hospital without a way to get back home since they had told me to not bring my ID, money, or credit cards on the day of the procedure (which also left me without money for food or a beverage after having fasted as required for the procedure). I had taken a day and a half off of work for the pre-op testing required by the hospital and for the procedure itself. And, I had taken prescription medicine specifically for the procedure that I otherwise would not have wanted to take. But the reason I have decided to go public with this is because the hospital told me the procedure to follow to file a grievance was through the Patient Advocacy group, which I did. The individual I spoke with in that group said this would be escalated and someone would call me back. Two months later, and 8 follow-up calls and they have not returned my call. Brian Peal, Manager of Patient Advocacy, did leave one message for me to call him back, which I did, but has never responded back to my multiple follow up messages, and so the hospital has not only not addressed my concerns or questions, but has completely ignored me despite their mistake, even though I followed every single one of their procedures throughout this entire horrible process! To be in healthcare and then ignore a person when you're the one who made the mistake, drop their healthcare, and never follow-up, is unacceptable.
