Millennium Park appears to be pretty busy. There are food trucks/venders around the park. There are some cool sculptures such as the bean. The park was clean.

An amazing park with various sculptures, beautiful plants/flowers, an clean pathways to walk on The view at night is simply breathtaking but you will encounter lots of ppl. That first thing in the morning was the best time to go.

You can't come to Chicago and not visit Millenium Park. This is where you will find Cloud Gate (The Bean), Crown Fountain, Lurie Garden and The Pritzker Pavillion. The entrance is free, they open at 6 am and close at 11 pm daily everyday of the week all year long. This Park is touristy and one of the most visited spots in Chicago. This area is almost always full of people taking photos mostly because of The Bean but it is also one the most calm, peaceful and lively area all together.

Quick take: Iconic bean Must see if you are in the area. It's a nice park to walk through. Took some pictures of the bean. People watched for a little bit. A lot of shade and places to sit throughout the park.

Beautiful park in Downtown Chicago near the bean art instillation. Many food and drink options nearby to make a day of it.

We spent about 30-45 minutes at Millennium Park during our visit to Chicago. My kids really wanted to see The Bean, so that was our main reason for stopping. We also checked out Crown Fountain and grabbed drinks at one of the little restaurants/bars nearby. The Bean is definitely iconic and fun to see in person, although it was very busy when we visited. The park itself is beautiful, well maintained, and surprisingly clean considering how many people were there. We also felt safe walking around, which made for an enjoyable visit. I would recommend Millennium Park if you're visiting Chicago for the first time because it's one of the city's landmarks. That said, for me personally, it wasn't a must-do attraction. I'm glad we went and saw it once, but if I had to choose between Millennium Park and some of Chicago's more immersive attractions, I'd probably spend my time elsewhere.

First time exploring Chi City, and OMG I loved it!!!! The vibe, rich in culture and architecture. As a city girl, this visit met my expectations and beyond. The millennium park is beautiful, loved to see the families enjoying this space. I was fortunate to visit when the Chicago Jazz Festival was going on, and what a wonderful experience. Lovely city, I gotta come back for more!

My day at millennium Park was great. My friend and I went to the Chicago jazz festival, where the ambience was great. They had food concession stands all around. The bathrooms were right at reach. We enjoyed everything about the millennium Park Chicago, Illinois. This was a free event where we were able to bring our chairs our food. You can sit back and relax and enjoy the outdoor fun at millennium Park. I would definitely recommend this place to tourist and for people living in Chicago to visit and have a great time.

I love when millennium Park hosts free events! You're allowed to bring a chair a lunch. They have food vendors & a restaurant here as well. The Jazz fest was very nice! I arrived for the last act. Talented musicians. The parks schedule is accurate on the website. There was enough seating for everyone. They have bathrooms available for the public. The staff was nice for the most part. Can't wait to go back!

I had fun here! It was one of my stops that i made sure to visit while in the city. It was for sure a windy day, but i enjoyed it. I love being a tourist in new city's and this was one attraction that is a must. The park has security upon entry so be prepared for that. Otherwise, it's super cute and i highly recommend.

Kind of a bummer when people are always walking around and asking for money. But it's nice to go in the spring and fall and be able to get a drink and something to eat downstairs.

FINALLY after living here almost a year I made it to the park! It was pretty cool! I figured out how to ride the train there from my house (because I'm not paying $50 to park, that's insane!) and met friends who are visiting from CA. We had a great time!

I got to take my guy around Chicago and, of course, we came to Millennium Park. Sadly, due to the winter festivities, the actual park was closed, but it was really nice getting to see all the lights and skating and I got to tell him stories of all the great events they have during the summer. I'm a sucker for this part of Chicago and for good reason! There's always something to do around here no matter the season.

Ask the Community - Millennium Park

Coming to the Robert Plant concert next week. is it covered in case of rain? Do they have a restarant ?…

It is not covered, and concerts are only cancelled in extreme weather--otherwise, rain or shine. Millennium Park is on Michigan Avenue; there will be restaurants all over the place to choose from. And whether it's walkable depends on one's level of…

Is the playground open?

Yes, the Maggie Daley Play Garden is open daily from 6am - 9pm

Where I can put my car for free?

There is ZERO free parking unfortunately.

We are planning on visiting Chicago early June, are there free concerts in most weekends in June?

It varies by season. Last year the free concert series kicked off on June 18th. (https://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/ct-summer-music-series-0403-story.html) The free movies in the park started on June 5th. This year Blues Fest is set to…

How early for a spot for movie?

I would go at least an hour early. You will have a hard time finding a good spot even for a couple of people half hour before.

Has anyone found cheaper parking anywhere or slight less expensive?

SpotHero is your friend. We park in the garage directly underneath and it's not crazy expensive. Reserve - park - save.…

A lot of nature of course. There's trails and an interpretive wetlands among the many things to come across while going through. Best to know about the transformation before going. It used to be the Stearns Quarry. The city purchased it in 2008, cleaned it up, and opened it the next year. Has lots of nature to see and more to do. There's more than a mile of paths, including recycled timber boardwalks, and walkways. At first this was the site of a coral reef if you can believe it. Limestone was formed, and there's been fossils discovered here that are now in the Field Museum. In the 1830s it became a quarry, and operated until 1970 when it became a landfill. There's a fishing pond that still has the old quarry walls. After opening this park there was cause for celebration. The community before this had a lack of green space. Have to go here if you like parks that have been restored from abandoned areas. It's quite impressive. There's all kinds of plants and wildlife.

I was worried that the park would be unshaded but our trip in the afternoon offered tons of shade to make the heat less severe. There are tons of different stations to enjoy like the little water park, the pirate ship, lighthouse, big slides, swings, and other play areas. I appreciated the decent bathrooms and the water stations got our water bottle. This park is amazing and worth a visit if you have kids. We will be back.

Of course we took our kids along because they would be the ones who could take full advantage of the facilities. The park itself was quite large, but we went for the kids playground. Signs were clearly marked for direction so we got to our destination with no difficulties. Our boys definitely enjoyed the suspension bridge, though my younger one was hesitant to go on first. I did see some older kids who were climbing "outside of the bridge infrastructure. There was a note to remind anyone not to do so. Oh well, it is what it is. Even if some accidentally fell when doing risky tricks, the soft padded ground would reduce the impact. On the other hand, there was one section of playground exclusively for children older than 5 years old. The slide seemed to be more advanced for young toddlers for sure. Therefore, we performed our sightseeing duty and walked away since our munchkins were 2.5 and 4.5 years old. Our older one enjoyed the straight slides. I liked that fact there were multiple slides with various speeds so that kids would not get bored on staying on the same one. Normally I wouldn't recommend anyone to drive to downtown but we did this time. My partner was able to secure a spot via SpotHero at the Harris Theater for a reasonable price. I got there much later than our scheduled arrival time yet he was able to extend for another 30 minutes in the app. Overall, we highly recommend parents to visit "Maggie Daley Park" and let the kids release some energy. We probably will be back again to poke around other areas when spring and summer in Chicago are in full bloom.

It's huge, multiple levels. There are at least three slides coming out from it. Lots of places for kids to climb and scurry and jump. But that part was too big for my kiddo so we went to the smaller section a few steps away. There was a structure to climb, several slides, some bars, and then even a little further away a bunch of swings. I tried to keep her from seeing the swings, to be honest, since I didn't want to have to deal with an upset kiddo when we had to leave without enough swing time. She played around a bit but didn't seem as interested in the playground. We went down a slide or two, but some of them had standing water since it has been a bit rainy recently. The playground isn't technically fenced in, but it is effectively so because it's behind the practice courts which are all fenced in. It'd be hard for your kid to get away from you. There's a parking lot for the Norridge Park District building but the neighborhood parking could be tricky, especially in the summer because there is restricted parking from Memorial Day to Labor Day (ostensibly because of the large pool structure that would keep the residents from having any parking for three months otherwise). The terrain of the park is wood chips and soil, decidedly not my favorite (maybe especially after a rain) and she got dirty pretty quick. I may bring her back when she's old enough to play on the rocket ship, but this won't be a park that we return to much if ever.
