From this bridge you can see the Highlands (LoHi) neighborhood. The bridge is a good place for a workout especially after going up and own the long flight of stairs.

This bridge makes a better connection between the city center and the waterside area than would exist otherwise, and offers some intriguing architecture. It's good for a quick photograph or two, but there's nothing exciting going on here. Definitely an area you want to be walking through if you are visiting Denver.

This bridge is quite prominent at the end of the Mall near Union Station. Whether this was the end destination or it leads to somewhere; but it seemed to lead to nowhere other then crossing the railway line. After reading some reviews there were some parks beyond but it was not obvious or looked inviting. As I was taking a picture someone passed by and said it was ugly. Well, not ugly in my opinion but not a destination place unless you happen to be within spitting distance which I was. The locals may feel quite differently about this.

This bridge is at the end of the 16th Street mall near the Union Station. It offers a great selfie locale if you like suspension cables and a tower. It's nothing more than an elevated walkway over some train tracks. Do not go out of your way to visit. As far as pedestrian bridges, I'll give it 4 stars, but who wants to devote vacation time to visit a pedestrian bridge? Don't believe the hype.

As a bridge engineer, I wanted to see the Millennium Bridge when visiting Denver. It's super convenient to get to, being only about a block from Union Station, and being at one end of the 16th Street Mall. Compared to other cable stayed bridges, this structure's span and over size isn't overly impressive, but its architecture with the canted tower and splayed stay cables are pretty cool. It's also nice and low, so it's an easy climb up the stairs for visitors (also accessible by elevator). The views from the top of the deck is nice. Definitely recommended if you're walking in the LoDo area! Good spot for pictures too.

This place is pretty cool. If you're walking around Denver, this is a detour worth making. It's fun to look at, walk on and photograph. You can get Instagram worthy shots from almost any angle. There are benches at the highest point so you can hang out on the bridge and even eat lunch there. Fun fact: When I was there last, a film crew was in the middle of filming a pilot episode for a new tv show on the bridge. They had lookouts posted at either end of the bridge warning pedestrians about the film crew and asking us to walk by normally without staring at the camera crew and actors. Denver knows how to keep things interesting.

Interesting pedestrian bridge that's only a quick 5-10 minute walk away from Union Station. I've seen people having photoshoots here as well as getting in their workout using the steps. It's free, always open, and has an elevator available as well. There are a few benches up at the top if you want to take a quick break and take in the view.

awesome name. took a lot of talent to build it. by no means is my review meant to disregard the time and effort it took to create this. however, it is a very short bridge. this was one of the landmarks i wanted to see during my trip to denver i felt a bit cheated. i just wished it was longer or more sites to see while i was visiting this bridge. during my visit the elevator was not working and you gotta take the stairs. which is not very great when you have a stroller to be pushing around. so overall, if you have time to kill during your visit then come to the millennium bridge. if you don't have time then you definitely aren't missing out too much on anything. tips: *free to visit *elevator available when its working. *next to the davita building. *within walking distance to shopping areas/restaurants. *street metered parking. *open 24-7 *could be a good photo op.

Auraria was actually Denver's oldest neighborhood and predated the City of Denver. All of this was leveled in 1973 in the name of progress and urban renewal. After escalating protests and demonstrations by the displaced community, the authorities agreed to preserve some of the most historic structures including three churches, the Tivoli Brewery complex, and a few homes. This one historic, residential block is now a tranquil oasis amidst the bustling educational campus. There are 13 Victorian homes built between 1872 and 1906 plus an historic retail space. The Golda Meir House, where the Israeli prime minister lived during her time in Denver, was moved to the campus in 1988. This is the oldest residential area in Denver and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and as a Denver Landmark. All of the structures have been restored and are occupied by campus offices these days. The public is free to wander up and down the block or to sit on a bench to enjoy the beautiful space which seems to sit in its own little bubble of the past.

There's historical markers. Between the campus buildings is this hidden park not many people know about. It actually has been there since about the city's beginning. This is a block of completely restored Victorian houses. Now these are used for college offices and official business. They're still nice to look at and there's plenty of green space. It doesn't take long to look at. It's a small park with old houses. This is especially interesting for those interested in Victorian architecture and things.

Instead, for Independence Plaza flava, check out the amazing hot dog stand immediately preceding it on the west end. Independence Plaza is where you will find your classic Denver wizards and magicians. And even better, you will generally find them engaged in a riveting chess game surrounded by 3,000 other intriguing bums + other interesting Denver folk. Perhaps the best feature of this plaza are the built in stone chessboards just made for, well, playing chess, especially on a delightful summer day/night. In fact, the chessboards are even watched over by stone/mosaic chess watchers on one side. Though the plaza is barricaded by Starbucks on every side, it nonetheless radiates Denver charm from the core. There is always a buzz in the air...office folk rushing about their day, folks eating outdoors in cafes, a general spirit of uplifitedness : )

As I've said before, I'm all about public chess games, where you duke it out with some homeless guy who wants to bet you a dollar a game, lose intentionally, and then try to 'hussle' you by raising the stakes to two whole dollars a game.
