While 1705 Chophouse is not a walk-in restaurant, I've been here for a couple of events (wedding, Competition Dining) and it's always been an impressive showing! Great lawn out front, nice lounge and then a smallish but elegant dining room makes for a great events space! The food catered internally is well above average and service is spot-on. For the Competition Dining event I accidentally left my credit card in the bill-fold and they were nice enough to mail it back to me and save myself a ride. So yeah, not sure when I'll be at 1705 Chophouse next but it's a great location and excellent spot for a upscale event. Birthday, wedding, anniversary or what have you, pretty sure they can do it all in style...

This would be a great place for any event. We went for a Chef Competition Dinner and were very comfortable in the dining room and in the bar. Its a nice clean place to wander around when you aren't seated, and the Sound system was good. The service was also very good.

This venue is perfect because it will save you a lot of time planning. The venue offers a convenient location in Raleigh, catering, management, and bar services all in one package to make it a one stop shop. Choosing this venue made our lives a million times easier to plan our special day. So do yourself a favor to eliminate the inevitable wedding day stress and choose 1705 because they will provide an unforgettable experience for you and your guests by offering you everything beyond anything you could dream. I want to genuinely take the time out to thank Rocky Top and 1705 East for their hospitality and service. The staff and management go above and beyond to fulfill any requests in a expeditious manner before, during, and after your event. All of my guests genuinely enjoyed their food and warm welcome from the staff. In fact, the groom and I are still hearing about how amazing our guests experience were weeks later. Our wedding has been acclaimed the wedding of the year thanks to 1705. And I want to especially thank a special server, Latoya for her outstanding efforts to cater to every need of both myself, the bride and my groom. Because of the beautiful venue, hospitable staff, and delicious cuisine we will have a lifetime of memories to cherish every time we think of our special day. And if there's any details that we might forget, I'm sure that our guests will remember all of the rest. We can't thank you enough for being apart of our special day. We look forward to hosting our future events here and even returning for our anniversary. Sincerely Mr. & Mrs. Lindsay

I have not been to this restaurant, but I'm looking to see if any of you have been. Also, I just emailed the general manager (found his email though the restaurant's website) and asked him about the prices. This was his response: "Most chophouses don't advertise their prices do to the fact that Prime meat prices will vary from time to time. Which in return well give a false price quote online. Our steak range from 29 to 55 dollars and they are all Prime meats. We also have several fish and other protein options. We also have one of the best wine lists in North Carolina and also a great smoke free lounge which we have some giant Martini's and a wonderful cheese chart served table side." Sounds pretty good - yeah?

It's conveniently located in the heart of downtown. It's a 5 minute walk to a dozen restaurants. The space is beautiful and always immaculately maintained. It's well lit and has a great productive vibe. Wifi is reliable and fast. Coffee, espresso, soft drinks, beer and snacks are provided as well, for free. The place includes several large conference rooms, several smaller conference rooms and a few private call rooms. No matter what your need there is always a spot to get things done. The conference rooms all have dedicated TVs with teleconferencing features built in. There are ample outlets and power supplies for plugging in everywhere. Finally, the owner Michael is super accessible and has a great team. He and the team are always around helping members and folks renting the conference rooms and taking care of any issues that arise quickly. The space is also available as a rental for events in the evenings and they go above and beyond to re-arrange all the co-working furniture to make space for the events and then restore everything to where it was before the next morning. I'm so glad that I found this place when I went looking for co-working spots downtown and I feel lucky to be a member here. Highly recommended.

The only suggestions we would offer is know in advance that this is the top floor of The Stockroom. If there are 2 events scheduled, you'll be sharing the only elevator with the other venue. Loading and unloading prior and after the event can be a bit tricky. There is no designated area loading zone. Be sure to ask in advance for a cart and it will be provided. Also, if you're having a summer event, know that it can be very hot. When the door to the deck is open, it compromises the A/C and it can be a tad bit warm.

The extra secret, private room is located upstairs in The Big Easy, down a back hallway through an ominous door labeled "staff only". This isn't a space that you can just walk into (now that you know where it's located), rather it's a private venue space, charging $300/6 hours on Fridays and Saturdays with a $500 minimum bar tab and $100/6 hours Sunday-Thursday with a $300 minimum bar tab. The small space includes a New Orleans voodoo theme complete with voodoo dolls and bare breasted fortune tellers (in photos). Your party is invited to enjoy the velvet couches and hairs artfully placed around the room and has access to a private bar (and bartender). I love the back wall, with photo windows viewing Salisbury Street and a huge wooden bench seat. Rebecca and her husband Steve, the owners of The Big Easy, created this space to throw a rocking New Years Eve party, and they're inviting locals to use it during the year. Rebecca hired a fortune teller for our VIP night, but options are practically unlimited for what you want to bring in (bachelorette party strippers?!) The room is pricy to rent, but the intention is to get in a "classier" group of people that will keep the space up (however, there's definitely room for a dance party in the room, think old Bee Hive tightness). The best part: that VIP feeling as you are personally led up to the room by a manager, it was VERY speakeasy and secretive!
