Marshmallow had her first vet visit, and it was such a great experience from start to finish. Dr. Magrey was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything in a way that made me feel confident and at ease as a new puppy owner. The vet techs/staff were just as welcoming. Super supportive, and clearly experienced. They gave me helpful advice and suggestions on puppy toys, treats, and general care, which I really appreciated. I'm so glad we chose this clinic for Marshmallow and I'm looking forward to continuing her care with such a kind and knowledgeable team.

I found Millbrae Pet Hospital in need (see below for the 2 places I went before MPH) as my dog was having uncontrollable sneezing for like 20 minutes and they were able to squeeze my dog in almost immediately between 2 appointments! The Vet looked my dog over, gave him medicine and built out a plan of attack if the problem continued. Really put me at easy... he has my business going forward!! Plus the staff/VET were really nice and worked with me in my time of need. (Check out their specials this month, teeth cleaning for $750, sounds like a deal, normally like $1300) Check them out San Bruno Pet Hospital- was my place for all things VET related, until today when I took him to SBPH and they said they don't take walk-ins.... really. What is the point of building a relationship with the VET if they don't take emergencies, they didn't even ask why I needed to see the doctor.. Never going back!! Next Masson Vet- same thing (but the lady did ask questions)

Of all the clinics that I called, Camino Real was the most attentive one. They actually care about your pet. Dr. Ten, Butter's vet, made sure to check up fully on Butter and had all the necessary lab works before the procedure. Dr. Ten explained to me what to expect and kept me informed all the time on the day of the procedure. Though Butter needed to have more teeth extracted than originally planned, Dr. Ten only charged us for her hours, not per tooth. Thus, I'm so grateful to Dr. Ten and Camino Real Pet Clinic for their reasonable charge and superb service! We've been a regular customer of Camino Real Pet Clinic ever since. We live in San Jose but I'm willing to drive Butter here for quality and caring pet services. The clinic is a quaint historical house and has a small parking lot in the back and along its side and one spot in the front. It can accommodate up to 5 cars, I believe. I've never had problem finding parking here. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Ten and the Camino Real Pet Clinic to anyone!

But he's recovered so well after every visit from Dr. Treat! That's truly a testament to the care, sensitivity, and expertise of the team here. Cheerio recently went through a checkup, exams, vaccines, and dental cleaning with Dr. Lee, which was quite involved with multiple shots, screenings, and anesthesia. But the team made sure that the procedures were calm, peaceful and allowed me to comfort him through the initial stages. I'm really thankful for that, and Cheerio recovered extremely fast in a day back to himself! Compared to other vets I've been to previously, it's been quite easy to make appointments at Dr. Treat, and they've always given me transparent prices and quotes to consider before committing, which is much appreciated.

Early Thursday morning around 2:30 A.M. I booked an urgent appointment at Dr. Treat in Burlingame…read morefor my 5-year-old Frenchie, who was vomiting repeatedly throughout the night. I made the appointment in pure panic because I was afraid something was seriously wrong. This review is mainly regarding the front desk staff and the customer service aspect, not the medical providers themselves. By morning, after monitoring her, she was eating, sleeping, and playing normally. I called the clinic to ask whether I should still bring her in or if I could cancel. I apologized immediately because I knew I was within the 24-hour cancellation window even though I made the appointment in the middle of the night and there was no way I could notify 24 hours before. The person who answered the phone was extremely condescending from the beginning. Instead of helping me decide what to do medically, I was repeatedly talked over and reminded of their policy. I completely understand policies -- I work in healthcare myself -- but there is a way to communicate them compassionately, especially in veterinary care where people are often scared and unsure. At one point she told me, word for word, to "be more mindful when scheduling appointments." After staying up all night cleaning vomit and watching my dog gag, that comment felt really insensitive and unnecessary. I wasn't rude, didn't raise my voice, and didn't swear -- I was simply asking if I should bring her in because she seemed fine by morning. She then told me she would "waive the fee this one time, but again, be mindful," spoke over me again, and then abruptly hung up. My issue isn't the policy (every clinic has them). The issue is how the staff communicates with pet owners during already stressful situations. Compassion and customer service matter. For contrast, I also called Sage in Redwood City and they simply advised me to monitor and come in if symptoms returned -- no attitude, no lecture, just clear guidance. I've been to Dr. Treat several times and their facility is beautiful, clean and the treats are endless for our babies, and the medical team has always been great. I really hope management addresses how these interactions are handled, because no one in the middle of a pet emergency should feel talked down to or dismissed by the front desk. I emailed the Manager Melissa but I have not gotten a reply

I called around to a few places and couldn't get in anywhere, but San Bruno Pet Hospital was able to fit us in for a new patient appointment at 1:30 that same day. From the first call, Myra was incredibly kind and reassuring. She even rolled with my nervous jokes, which I appreciated more than she probably knows. Walking in, everything felt smooth and organized, which immediately put me at ease. The doctor was just as great. She took her time examining Apollo, checked for bladder stones (thankfully negative), and -- something I really appreciated -- didn't push unnecessary tests or make it feel like we couldn't move forward without them. She prescribed antibiotics to treat the infection and made the whole process feel straightforward and stress-free. Now if someone could come over and help me get this pill down Apollo's throat, that would be amazing... lol. Overall, this was a great experience from start to finish. He was still eating, even though he couldn't really see his food anymore. He was still mobile, though his limp was getting more noticeable and our walks got a lot shorter. He still liked scratches behind his ears, but couldn't hear us at all. Ultimately we came to the realization that his quality of life had deteriorated to the point where he could not enjoy much anymore - he was just existing, and that wasn't fair. We decided on in home euthanasia because we didn't want his last moments to be filled with anxiety at the vet's office. I can't express how glad we are that we made that decision. Timmy passed in his favorite spot for sunbathing as the late afternoon sun was coming in through the window. It was so incredibly sad but peaceful. I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Liu and her professionalism. She communicated clearly and was so responsive throughout. I could tell she understood how important Timmy was to us, and she treated him with such respect. She even checked in on me via email multiple times in the days following his passing. She was responsive, professional, and kind. She had a steady presence and our dog was immediately comfortable with her. I started bringing my dog here to address his luxating patella. We came up with a plan to start shockwave therapy and water treadmill therapy and supplements. We've had two appointments out of the five of the package we purchased. He's much more comfortable with all the staff and treatments now. The first two shockwave treatments are done with the doctors to assess and develop a treatment plan, and the following treatments are done with a certified therapist. Everyone has been so kind to my dog that he loves coming here. And not just for the human grade cheese he's given to do the exercises!! We were also given a comprehensive List of physical therapy movements and stretches to do at home. It's too soon to tell if the treatment is working well, but we have high hopes with this clinic! It takes us about 3 hours of traffic to get to and from this clinic, but it's such a gem. They provide towels and blowdryers and snacks for the water treadmill work. We opted to not try the injection as my dog is scared of shots, who isn't really?! The doctor was so kind to provide us with a another supplement option, which we have started. They check in to see how he's doing at the start of every appointment and tailor the session to his needs. We opted to not go through insurance, but they can help out with paperwork if you do so. Well worth it to learn non invasive techniques to rehab your beloved pups. Can't wait to see my little baby become stronger with these amazing professionals!
