I found Millbrae Pet Hospital in need (see below for the 2 places I went before MPH) as my dog was having uncontrollable sneezing for like 20 minutes and they were able to squeeze my dog in almost immediately between 2 appointments! The Vet looked my dog over, gave him medicine and built out a plan of attack if the problem continued. Really put me at easy... he has my business going forward!! Plus the staff/VET were really nice and worked with me in my time of need. (Check out their specials this month, teeth cleaning for $750, sounds like a deal, normally like $1300) Check them out San Bruno Pet Hospital- was my place for all things VET related, until today when I took him to SBPH and they said they don't take walk-ins.... really. What is the point of building a relationship with the VET if they don't take emergencies, they didn't even ask why I needed to see the doctor.. Never going back!! Next Masson Vet- same thing (but the lady did ask questions)

I went to see BFPH earlier in the year for a special procedure for my dog. BFPH was referred to me…read moreby my primary vet as they had limited capacity of what specialities they could provide due to construction issues. Anyways, I'll start with: my experience here was a hot mess and had a small redemption arc towards the end of my visits here. It was a hot mess as my dog's procedure was cancelled 2x, the first time being a scheduling issue as I was scheduled on a day the vet doesnt perform procedures. I scheduled this first appointment a month in advance only for them to check their schedule 2 days prior to let me know they needed to reschedule. What makes this worse is my dog had to take steroids and several medicines a week prior to his procedure so essentially he was on steroids for no reason. Prior to this cancellation, I called 2x almost everyday for a week trying to get instructions from the vet about the pre procedure protocol- which I understand vets are busy but a week of no response is ridiculous The second cancellation was a similar scenario but it was cancelled because they found out that they ran out of the medication they needed to perform the procedure 2 days prior so yet again my dog was on steroids for no reason. At this point, I probably should've went to another clinic but given that this procedure was unique, not very many clinics did it, and the vet was apologetic the second go around- I felt better about it and we finally went through with the procedure. The procedure was successful but a week later my dog had complications and had to go to the ER. Thankfully, he is okay now. After hearing of the complications the vet was apologetic and we went in a week after for a recheck where the vet suggested that he didnt need a recheck if he was fine and that a recheck costs money. That statement rubbed me the wrong way and to which, I said I understand but this is for my peace of mind. The main thing I regret out of all of this was that I wish I advocated more for staging protocol (e.g blood work, xrays, etc) prior to my dog's procedure as the vet was confident my dog didnt need this to which I took their word. But looking back this would've been good information to have had and could have provided me with more comfort and peace of mind. Despite this experience, the front desk staff, special shoutout to Andrew, was kind and apologetic especially towards the end when I was noticeably frustrated by the situation. This was the small redemption arc this clinic had for me. All this to say, unless necessary I do not plan on pursuing any further business here.

I've taken her too many places to get her anal glands, excreted,, and this was the first place that they told me that I should sedate her with trazodone and gabapentin before I brought her in. To be honest with you, the Vet tech was quite rude. I was pretty taken a back, considering I've taken her to many other places, and they just put a small muzzle on her and extract her with no problem. Their rebuttal, was that they had a different philosophy and that if I didn't sedate her that doing the extraction could injure her. I laughed because I had a Chihuahua and they muzzled my Chihuahua six months ago. So they are being pretty hypocritical. Basically I'm upset because I had been a loyal client for over 15 years with multiple pets, and since I disagreed with their tactics of sedating my dog before an anal gland excretion... They thought it would be best if I'd go somewhere else. They also said that sofie had deep anxiety and was in a state of fear. Sofie was uncomfortable, but so are most dogs going to the vet. I've never had this problem with this vet team. But, the dynamics have changed and Dr.G would rather drug my dog than put a muzzle on her. Yet.. they felt good putting a muzzle on my 17 year old Chihuahua 6 months ago. Definitely going somewhere else where the veterinarian team are more confident in their skills, professional and know how to communicate. They definitely have a lack of loyalty.

Masson was the only place that I felt was genuinely there to help you without digging a hole into your pocket. They were the only place that could give me a rough dollar amount. And I completely understand quotes can be inaccurate because you can't diagnose over the phone. Jasmine was the first staff I spoke to there, she was warm, kind and knowledgeable. I was a founding member of Dr. Treat San Francisco from August 2022 - May 2026 and referred many neighborhood dog owners to this practice over the years. Following billing errors after my dog's March 2026 dental cleaning, I conducted a comprehensive audit of invoices, visit summaries, lab results and the complete clinical record. What I found was deeply concerning and the issues I uncovered extended well beyond billing. Clinical concerns identified: - Anesthesia monitoring failures during a dental procedure under general anesthesia, including multiple alarms with no recorded intervention - A sedation procedure with no monitoring records - Laboratory tests billed but specimens never submitted to the laboratory - Vaccination records inconsistent with clinical documentation resulting in missed doses and unnecessary revaccination - A clinical encounter producing a prescription for an antibiotic-resistant infection with no follow-up plan or corresponding chart entry Billing concerns: - $1,178.80 in billing errors corrected only after my independent audit -- none identified proactively by the practice - Additional $1,389.18 in billing errors with a denied refund requested despite documentation sourced from the practice's own records I filed formal complaints with the California Veterinary Medical Board in June 2026 (Complaint 4602026002298 and 4602026002309). Additionally, Dr. Treat is no longer an independent practice. It is operated by SVP California LP within the Mission Pet Health/Southern Veterinary Partners network. This ownership change was not disclosed to members who auto-renewed annual memberships after February 2025. Current and former clients are encouraged to request complete clinical records and cross-reference them against invoices & visit summaries. Under California law (16 CCR §2032.3) records must be provided within 5 business days of a written request.

She took amazing care of Buddy and shows a great amount of genuine care. We followed Dr. Roossien from her previous practice in San Mateo, however we loved San Bruno Pet Hospital so much more. Even if we had to go further, she was worth it and we loved the staff that were equally caring and showed enthusiasm when they'd see all their doggie clients arrive. She took her time examining Apollo, checked for bladder stones (thankfully negative), and -- something I really appreciated -- didn't push unnecessary tests or make it feel like we couldn't move forward without them. She prescribed antibiotics to treat the infection and made the whole process feel straightforward and stress-free. After the euthanasia, we were able to choose where we wanted the fur clippings. The paw print was perfectly imprinted with Christy's name, which added such a sweet personal touch. We chose to pickup Christy's ashes at Sage, and it was quick. The only thing is it felt very jarring going to an animal hospital filled with so many people and dogs. Considering this was only 2 weeks after the euthanasia, I was still grieving and it was difficult being in that environment so soon.
