Ordered two large pizzas with 3 toppings and nothing else. Pizza is good but price was ridiculous $60.54. We won't be doing this again!

3 farmers omelettes with sourdough toast, 3 coffees, 3 orange juices, 3 ice waters and fun conversation happened at our booth this morning at 10 am. The couple that own this restaurant are fun and always take time to joke and make friends and it's always such a nice place to stop at. Excellent service, small town, friendly atmosphere and lots to look at with all of the collections they have in the store. We will always support the restaurant and I'm looking forward to trying their pizza. Fantastic place in a perfect location so you should check them out! Have a wonderful time! read more

Food is great. However, the portion size is small. We ordered the Decade. It would have been great if it had any meat on it. I had expected this to be like a club sandwich. It barely had any meat. The breakfast menu is also awesome. Again, the portions are just too small. read more

Everything was amazing. We are traveling and I do believe this was the best meal we had. The pizza crust was crusty and delicious. My daughter had a Philly cheesesteak panini, and I had a salad. Those were great as well. Owner and waitstaff were very inviting. read more

Well we just cleared a tables worth of food and everything was delicious!! I could tell the mozzarella was hand grated, the pizza was delicious (homemade crust) and the cheese pull on Da'Bomb (meatball appetizer) was about a foot long! The pinwheels were my favorite appetizer with the Frickle Sticks as a close second, very unique and tasty. We had both the marinara pasta and the Alfredo were great as well. We stopped here on our way home after spending the weekend up north. Quaint atmosphere with fantastic service from Shelly. Menu has something for everyone. We got hillbilly chips and supreme pizza and Buffalo chicken pizza. Pizza and crust were cooked perfectly. Crust is like a breadstick so ask for a dipping sauce if that's your thing. Shelly should also consider a career in comedy!! Would recommend! Wish we had a place like this in our area. read more

I wanted to love this place, I really did. We ordered the frickles, cheese bread, a sandwich ( my son got that, can't remember what it was) and I wanted the nachos that I saw on the online menu, but was no longer offered. I got the taco salad, which came in the stalest taco salad shell imaginable, had about half a cup of lettuce, and a rumor of everything else . $60 later, we left most of our food uneaten. I did tell the server about the stale shell, and got kind of a shrug. Everything was lukewarm and... terrible. Cute atmosphere. I've heard their breakfast is really good... Love this place! Went here for breakfast a couple times. Really enjoyed my breakfast at the counter. Delicious food, large portions, and very friendly staff. Came back for pizza in the evening and it was also very good. This will be my go-to eatery whenever I'm in town. Note: if you're biking the North - Central Trail, they're right off the trail and have a sign on the trail so you don't miss it. Definitely recommend supporting this business. read more

I stopped in for a pizza during the fourth quarter of the Michigan Ohio State game because it was getting very tight at the end and I did not want to be driving. The owner and I watched the end of the game on my cell phone and she proceeded to make me a medium pizza with all the toppings and one large fountain beverage. When I got home the next day, my charge on my credit card was $55.18. I called multiple times and asked them to validate the amount and they never called back. I disputed the charge with Chase and Mill Street claimed that one pizza and one pop are $55.18 and that the charge was valid. I never thought at a small town, mom and Pop shop I would need to get a receipt... Good news is Michigan won and the pizza was solid. Just not worth $55... In town for the night and wanted to visit a Mom and Pop place to eat in. For some reason a lot of places close early on Saturday night in the area. It was around 8pm and we were looking for dinner. We pulled up to a half lit building that looked crowded with trinkets from the outside, and only had 1 car in the parking lot. We were unsure if they were open, but they said open til 10, so we went in! According to their website, they are known for Frickles. So we got Frickles (bacon, pickles, cream cheese in a n egg roll wrapper), a Loaded Salad, and a large pizza with half Hawaiian and half supreme. Pros: Open later than other places Full Menu from Pizza to Dinners Tasty Food GREAT Pizza Decent prices Bright Bubbly female server polite but standoffish male server Cons: Table was dirty when we sat down Frickles could have had more pickles in them Loaded Salad should have been an AntiPasta salad- but it was soooo small. Charged a dollar extra to do half and half on the pizza the kitchen staff were a little loud with jokes about customers/call in orders Paid $44 for a Pizza, Salad, Appetizers and 2 pops. Left Mackinac Island and traveled south. On our way to our next stop, we decided to get pizza and Mill Street exceeded our expectations! Pinwheels to Hillbilly Chips to delicious pizza to cinnamon bites - everything was excellent! The server/owner was fantastic; great interactions and gave us recommendations/offered to change ingredients on request. The atmosphere was fun to look at while waiting for our food - a peddle car, old oil can, parts and pieces of cars, old signs on the walls, cute little gift shop with local artisans... if you are in the area, definitely check this place out. read more

Amazing place. Mom and pop kind of dinner. They have two restaurant in one, pizza place and dinner. Awesome Breakfast menu. Special menu for senior citizens with perfectly balanced diet. So we had several breakfast items. Make your own omelette on a skillet with doughs potato. - awesome, the potatoes are cooked crispy on the outside and mushy on the outside. It was amazing taste with fresh ingredients. BLT with chips- superb. Corn beef omelette. - awesome! More than the food. The owners and employees, very friendly and down to earth ppl. We're in town from Detroit for the gorgeous fall foliage. We're staying in Gaylord but when we saw the reviews for this pizza place, it seemed worth the further drive down. We were not disappointed! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, every single person we met. We were 3 adults and 5 children. We ordered two pizzas and two salads with pop for the adults and milk for the kiddos. The kids colored while we waited. The food came out within 15 minutes and everything tasted fresh and the pizza was hot and absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back! read more

This a review for takeout experience. This was such a great find! On the way to the Upper Peninsula it's really hard to find good places to eat. This place was right off the freeway. Friendly service, and really yummy grinders. I'm usually not one for sandwiches, but this was so good! The bread was fresh, the cheese so perfectly melted and the veggies just right! The definition of small town eats. The picture of the pizza fries is what sold us and they were every bit as good as they looked! The Hawaiian pizza was equally amazing (with a perfect light and doughy crust), as was the service. Of course we had to finish off such a great meal with their "Michigan Pothole" ice cream - a twist on rocky road with mini peanut butter cups. Review in a nutshell: Wonderful food and great service! I came by for a late dinner about an hour before closing and was welcomed with a smile and a friendly face. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs (added Chicken) with the side salad and bread stix, and the wait wasn't very long, but the food was amazing! You could tell the salad was hand-prepped with chopped tomatoes, green peppers, onions, and lettuce. Breadsticks were probably the best I've ever had! They were light and fluffy, soft on the inside with a slight crisp to the outside. They were definitely hand-rolled and fresh out of the oven, topped off with butter and sprinkled with some light cheese. They don't skimp on quantity either - I'm pretty sure my basket had at least 7-8 sticks in it! The spaghetti with meatballs & chicken was also amazing. It had been put together and then baked in an over, and the tops of the meatballs were crisped but moist all the way through. Neither the meatballs or the chicken were dry in any way, and the pasta noodles were the perfect texture. Pasta sauce was really well-seasoned, too. All in all, my meal from Mill Street Pizza definitely hit the spot. I rarely finish an entree, but even though I was full, I polished off my meal. I'm definitely returning! read more

While on a trip back home from the UP my family and I stopped in at Mill Street Pizza, best decision we made! The pizza was absolutely amazing, the best I have ever had. My mom and I ordered a pizza half cheese half olives and peppers and they made a mistake by putting the olives and peppers on both halves, they apologized and made the moment right with their great customer service, they made me my own cheese pizza free of charge. On a whim, I stopped at this diner in Vanderbilt, MI. The lovely lady behind the counter (owner) told me that they had just made fresh carrot cake and I could order it off their hidden menu. I always have a tendency to compare all carrot cake to my Grandma's, so I was up for playing food critic. With scrutiny in my mind, I took the first bite and was immediately transported to my Grandma's Kitchen at 7 years old. This diner is ran so well by Doug and Shelley! For travelers battling holiday and summer weekend traffic on I-75, this is a welcome respite for those who want to avoid the jammed-up intersections in nearby Gaylord. We were heading south after a 4th of July spent in the U.P. and I was dreading long lines at ANY restaurants, fast food or sit-down. I found the Mill Street Pizza listing on my phone, and we exited intending to just drive by the place first to see if it looked worth stopping in. Gaylord was only 8 miles ahead and we could've just driven by if it didn't look promising. It was about 3 p.m. and there were no other customers when we arrived, but we were welcomed in by the owners and told to sit wherever we liked. My 4-year-old promptly began to explore the place, which is decorated top to bottom in automobile memorabilia. The menus are simple and straightforward: burgers, pizza, appetizers, typical bar & grill food, but lots of variety and fun names for the burgers (Pineapple Express, Dante's Inferno). Major points from me: All burgers are served on a pretzel bun (YAY!) and my Alice In Wonderland burger's mushrooms were fresh, not canned. My husband and sons split a pizza and were very happy with it. As we ate more people came in, some for takeout, and some dining in. A sit-down lunch for me, my husband, our baby, our young son, and my grandma was under $40 with tip and non-alcoholic beverages. Not bad! I really hope this place stays open, because it didn't look like there was much else going on in Vanderbilt! read more

This place is awesome! My sister and I decided to check this place out after a long day of skiing at Treetops, and a bad experience at one of the resort restaurants. The pizza was great, and the Frickle Bombs are amazing! They have good customer service, the Pizza Queen made us feel right at home. If anyone is in the area, this place is a must.
