I never imagined giving 5 stars to a dentist, but here we are! While I still don't love going to the dentist, Mill District Dental is a great place to go. They have a comfortable lobby, and it's easy to park in the parking garage behind that block of businesses. Do not pay for parking- it is not necessary! The dental hygienists have all been kind and knowledgeable, and Dr. Seimi has the most welcoming presence. She made me feel very comfortable while there. There is also a tv on the wall and ceiling to keep you distracted. I am thankful to have this team as my dental providers. read more

Just to add to how awful this practice is... I moved out of state and saw two dentists for the first time since seeing Dr. Peters. It turns out that one of my crowns has a huuuuuge crack in it and another of my teeth needs a root canal. These were the two teeth that were bothering me when I saw Dr. Peter's 8 months ago, described in my previous review. You know how expensive dental procedures are and thanks to Dr. Peters' utter lack of interest or care for his patients I now have to spend $3000+ on intense dental procedures. To add fuel to the fire, I started a new job/dental plan so a lot of it won't be covered thanks to wait times. If it had been detected sooner I would have had better coverage under my previous plan. read more

Every member of staff in this place from the receptionists through to the dentist I saw were condescending and rude. I booked a deal $99 for X-ray, check up and cleaning as I was long overdue for the cleaning due to Covid. They didn't even do the cleaning. read more

I was blown away by the quality of service at Mill District Dental. 1. The waiting area is cuter than my actual HOUSE. It's clean, comfortable, and beautiful. I was shocked at how much thought they put into the patient experience. There were even TV monitors in the rooms where dental work is done so no matter what position you're in, you can watch something to help you take your mind off of what's happening in your mouth. 2. Everyone who works at Mill District Dental is extremely friendly and professional. The dental assistant who cleaned my teeth explained how they measure the health of someone's gums and gave me a breakdown that clarified how I can adjust my flossing and brushing habits at home. They made sure to answer all of my questions and seemed really compassionate about making sure that the discomfort of going to the dentist was minimized as much as possible. 3. My teeth feel great after going to Mill District Dental and I'm looking forward to my next appointment. They didn't pressure me to get any work done that I don't need (which I know is a problem at some dental practices) but explained all of my options fully. Mill District Dental totally changed my idea about what going to the dentist should be! The decor in the waiting room is straight out of a Magnolia Catalog and the hallway is flanked with sliding barn doors to carry the theme throughout. The exam chairs are more comfortable than most and there are tvs both on the wall and on the ceiling, so I was able to watch Friends while getting a filling. The staff are exceptional - from the front desk to the dentist. I was able to book my first appointment within a week and subsequent appointments in a timely manner. I saw the same hygienist each time, who remembered the conversations we had previously. I felt as though my concerns about my teeth were validated and listened to at every level. I've recommended Mill City Dental to all of my friends and to you reading this review too! read more

The doctor that I see here is really lovely and always does a good job, but I struggle with the customer service and the people working at the front desk. In my experience they have been curt, bordering on rude. Other than that it's a good dentist, but the people at the front have made me feel unwelcome and unwanted several times. read more

After 4-5 visits, I've yet to have anything but a fully positive experience here. I moved downtown 2 years ago and questioned breaking up with my old dentist in my old neighborhood. I have been to Mill District Dental two times and I have been extremely pleased with the experiences. Dr Peters is awesome; throughout and detailed-oriented. Given two great visits at Mill District Dental; I would love to come back regularly. However, the front desk staff - Bridgette made it extremely unpleasant to come back. If you call in to cancel the appointment; she would make it extremely difficult and unwelcome to schedule another appointment. Her tone and rudeness is even worse if you ask her to check the schedule a couple times. If I cant schedule the next appointment; how could I ever come back then? I now switch to another dentist in Uptown who is also booked completely til September. However his staff makes me feel welcome enough to decide to switch to the new dental office. I was new to the TC and I choose Mill District because of a recommendation from my medical clinic, and have been here since. In fact, my whole family goes here. I love all the staff who have helped me. I have always felt comfortable here. They are always professional, but not stuck up :) It is a beautiful place to be during the Not So Fun dental visit. I don't know how they are price wise because I am fortunate enough to have dental insurance, but I would hope being a single dentist and owning his own business he could work with individuals in need at a reasonable price. read more

I never got the opportunity to partake of the wonderful service everyone else has mentioned in their reviews of the Hygienist and Dr. Peters. I took the time to look up dentists within my network and read the reviews of those with good ratings. Then cross referenced with Yelp and finally settled with Dr. Peters at Mill District Dental, thinking he may be a great fit for me. Unfortunately, I interacted with Bridgette, with her lack luster personality and poor customer service; not to mention she was both rude and condescending in her under tone. I felt very unwelcomed from the minute she asked her first question of me. She was very rushed and just unpleasant. She refused to make an actual appointment with me until I had my subscriber number, which I found offensive. Most welcoming and professional offices, when you're a new patient, just have you bring your insurance card with you, when you don't have all of the info requested via phone. I advised her that didn't have the card, but went on line and looked up information pertaining to my benefits that I thought she would need. After going back on the website and finding out how i could print a new/temporary card, i realized that basically, the only thing I did NOT have is the Subscriber number; everything else I had already read off to her. Have you ever just experienced someone who treated you suspiciously or like they're trying to tell you, without verbalizing, that the service provided would be better suited for someone else other than you? That's how she made me feel. I'm actually pretty pissed right now. LOL Convo: Greeted by Bridgette and placed on hold She returned and thanked me for holding Advised her I would like to schedule a dentist appt She asked if I had ever been seen there I told her no She states so you're asking to be seen as a new patient then, correct? [*I was thinking.. obviously... but said yes, but it was her tone.. like she was being snotty. I ask questions like this of my customers, but I'm pleasant] She then asked if i checked to see if i was in their network. I say yes. She asked my insurance name. I provide it She asked was it in my name? I paused and answered yes... thinking what they heck? Have they been burned in the past or something? She asked for my name and address, which i provided. She then asked is their an apt #, or unit, or not? [*Again it was her tone, as if I didn't know how to provide a full address] I paused for a moment.. and said, "Not." She asked where I work. I advised her. She asked for a Subscriber number I told her i did not have one, but read off other things i saw on my coverage that pertained to the acct.. such as an acct # and member id. She asked was the insurance in my name i said yes.. thinking huh? Who asks this and why so many times? She advised me that an appt could be scheduled, but not until i had my subscriber number and further explained they needed to verify my insurance that they were part of my network and what they could submit as a claim. Then she asked me for a Customer Service Number or Claims #. LOL I've never been asked for all of these things before in my life to schedule an appt. Long story short... i told her i would look on the website and find the requested info and call back. I called back and got a pleasant gentleman who answered. I advised him that i was calling back to schedule an appt and was informed that I needed to ask for an appt as a new patient, but had yet to schedule an actual appt yet. He placed me on hold and then got back on line and said he needed to transfer me to Bridgette. She got on the line with her cold rudeness... i will at least say she's professional, because it's never WHAT she says (accept some of those questions), it's HOW she speaks to you. I gave her the requested info: Subscriber number and Claims Number, and then she asks if I've ever used my insurance before. LOL I said yes. She then tells me, "You're going to have to contact your previous dentists office and have them send us your previous x-rays and tells me what Mill City Dentist would not do, if i had already had x-rays taken. LOL This girl was something. Here's when I just told her, you know what... I think I'll find a different dentist. I find you to be rude, Bridgette... and as I disconnected, she of course proceeded, while yet STILL being rude, to tell me Oh that was fine and to have a nice day. Welp! I'm going to go on the limb and say that some people who call in are not welcomed by Bridgette. I would never suggest or refer this office to anyone if he employs ppl like this young lady. I'm sure she's efficient and works hard, but she apparently only wants a specific clientele and that did NOT include me. #beware read more

I've been coming to this dentist for a few years now. Everything about this place is great. There's indoor parking, lovely waiting room, TV's on the wall and above your head while you horizontal, and always treated with respect despite sometimes not flossing as much as I should. There great at working with your insurance and have never had a problem. Highly recommend! Always leave smiling. read more

Goodness: how many ways can I sing the praises of Mill District Dental??? I HATE going to the dentist. Even when I'm going to a wonderful dental office with incredible hygienists and an excellent doctor, I still JUST HAAAAATE IT. I hate the way you get poked and prodded (and doesn't it always hurt a little?!), and I really hate being judged for my lack of flossing technique, or whatever. Today's cleaning appointment - my first at Mill District, and my first dental appointment in quite a while (see above) - was completely different. The office is beautiful and comfortable, and you feel as though you might be sitting in a friend's perfectly-decorated living room while you're waiting in the lobby. Larissa, the hygienist, was the most kind, compassionate, non-judgemental soul you can imagine - and she even managed not to hurt me while doing an incredibly thorough job! I was already sold on this clinic, and vastly less anxious than at any previous dental appointment in memory; and then Dr. Peters came in. Within moments of his entering the room, I had zero anxiety whatsoever, simply thanks to his presence. That has literally NEVER happened to me in a dentist's chair. He has the most warm, gentle, competent, kind presence, and he actually looks as though he loves what he does. I am now a patient for life. This was a completely next-level dental care experience. This place was excellent! The office is beautiful and the people who worked here are really nice. I came here just to get a basic cleaning, nothing else. I don't feel like I was upsold or anything during my visit here (which is common with dental offices). The doctor was able to answer all of my questions and I really felt much cleaner after leaving here. I'm considering coming back to see Dr. Peters for some whitening here soon. The staff here is amazing and the amenities are phenomenal. The dental chair has massage controls and there are tv's on the ceiling so you can watch while your teeth are being cleaned. I'm terrified of needles and when I had to get novocaine the nurse talked me through it even though she was probably in more pain than me because I was squeezing her hand so hard. For the first time since I was a kid I'm going the the dentist regularly and that would never have happened without this place. read more

I had been waiting to transfer here until I had finished up some care with another dentist, and now I wish I had done it sooner! I was immediately greeted at the door, even though she was on the phone. She stopped the call to quickly welcome me and have me have a seat. Love the location, the Tv's in the room and the massage chair!!! Larrisa was a wonderful hygienist. Best cleaning experience I have had in years. After the past year, trying to find the perfect dental office/staff after my current dentist retired was challenging. I, recently, happened to come across an advertisement in a local magazine for MDD while sitting in a doctor's office in Uptown waiting for a relative. I made an appointment and found MDD was nothing short of super impressive; I could not have been more pleased and happy with, absolutely, everything about it! Each one of the staff members could not have been more professional, detailed and attentive, the office is truly gorgeous, ultra modern and geared toward the comfort and confidentiality of the patient. Best dentist I've ever seen. I recently had a cavity filled and was expecting at least a little discomfort during the drilling, but there was absolutely none. I couldn't even feel the needle going in for the anesthetic. Contrary to a couple other reviews, I found Dr. Peters to be quite conservative in his treatment plan--he identified another potential trouble spot but recommended we wait and see if regular hygiene would keep the problem from progressing. Throughout my visits he's been straightforward but nonjudgmental, and superhumanly gentle. The other staff I encountered were all very helpful and friendly, and there are ceiling-mounted TVs for distraction. Even the hours (with early-morning, evening, and some Saturday time slots available) are focused on patients' comfort and convenience. Highly recommended! read more

I returned from abroad with a dental emergency. Dr. Peters and his staff made time for me the next day despite the fact that their schedule was full. The entire (rather serious) procedure took 40 minutes with no waiting whatever and was carried out with good humor and great efficiency. I am so grateful to have this clinic so close by. I live in the building, so of course this is convenient for me, but it is probably the most convenient clinic in the Downtown area, and the fact that Dr. Peters and his staff are so fantastic is icing on the cake. I chose this dental office based on convenience as it's located in the basement of my building and am very happy with the choice. Physically, the office is beautiful and the staff is extremely friendly, professional without being stuffy. They do all of the normal dental work but also botox, which is a new, interesting trend. Initially, I was leery bc Dr. Peters is pretty young and I usually prefer very experienced ppl but his office has all the technology, he diagnosed/treated an issue that I've long known was there but my old DDS didn't treat (a snaggle/dead tooth) and he did it with precision of a seasoned dentist. He even fixed my old filling that was snagging the dental floss, on the rare occasion when I do it. Costs were communicated upfront and were on-par with my guestimates. Parking is off-street, free, in the retail garage. It's kind of difficult to find but it's accessed off 11th Ave/2nd Street S. One extremely minor constructive criticism is maybe a few too many communications. Again, not a big deal, but I received texts, emails and phone calls for each appt to remind and to confirm. Overall, it's a fantastic office that I'd definitely recommend to others. read more

The best, most professional, comfortable, and nicest dental office I've ever been to!

I had gone to this clinic multiple times and enjoyed my experience. Unfortunately, while pursuing a graduate degree, I came into financial hardship and took 3 months to pay a bill (which was paid in full at one payment). Now, Mill District Dental refuses to reschedule me and front line staff were extremely rude, talked down to me regarding discussing the late payment, tone of voice was harsh and completely unwelcoming. I have not experienced that type of poor front line customer service in years. Front line would not give referrals saying they could not help me. I had to ask three times if they have any partners in the community since I am not familiar with other clinics. Front line staff seemed irritated, upset and unwilling to refer anywhere despite also not rescheduling. This policy of not rescheduling due to a late payment had never been discussed with me, no letter received with this information. As someone who works in healthcare with patients this feels like EXTREMELY poor patient care and although I appreciated the clinic while I was a patient there, I will never refer here due to this experience. I am a financially solid customer with a steady income who was willing to make this clinic my dentist long term and who has also referred here. I will be following up with anyone I referred to ensure they know the patient care experience I had. read more

These guys are awesome, I can not say enough good things about Dr. Peters and his whole team at Mill District Dental. Their offices are beautifully decorated, and so comfortable. I am someone who always gets anxious going into the dentist, but I felt so at ease here- everyone was so pleasant and welcoming. They have TVs mounted on the wall and ceiling to distract from any anxiety that always comes with going to the dentist. Dr. Peters was gentle, careful and thorough in his work, but was also very kind and patient. He frequently checked in with me to see how I was doing, and made sure I was comfortable. I avoided the dentist for years due to bad experiences in the past, and chose Mill District Dental based on the positive reviews. So glad I did! They have completely changed how I feel about my teeth. I actually look forward to my appointments now. There is absolutely no judgement (I have several bad teeth I am in the process of repairing/replacing) and it is nice to be reassured while being in such a vulnerable position. Scheduling an appointment is easy- the reception team is knowledgeable and helpful (answering my many questions) and I have always been able to get in rather quickly. They recommended an excessive treatment plan. Six fillings, for everything that looked like an incipient cavity they could find on the X-rays. The explanation was given to me quickly and coldly. I checked the X-rays with two previous dentists who disagreed, saying I did not need any fillings. read more

Not a great first visit or person centered care. I have difficulties with Xrays due to some mouth issues, the team was not open to talk it over or find a way to make me comfortable. Also the receptionist needs to be trained on patient privacy and talk in a private area. read more

I have been receiving mailers from this group for several months. I decided to call today, to ask a few questions as to their 'specials', I did not have the mailer in front of me at work. As they say, first impressions...... The person who answered the phone was a bit short and sounded like I was bothering her. I explained I had been getting mailers, and asked if they had a special of some kind. She recited the cleaning, x-ray, exam for 99.00, as if she had said it a million times, and was bored of saying it. I then said I thought there was a botox special as well. She sounded really agitated at this point, saying 'YES, 25 units with a cleaning, x-ray and exam. I assumed one might pay more for the cleaning, x-ray and exam if one were to use the 25 units of botox special at the same appointment. So, I asked with the botox,, how much is the cleaning, x-ray and exam? Much like my 16 year old daughter, she said 99.00 !!! OH OK. I apologized for bothering her and said good bye. Good grief. sounds like a good deal so I might get my courage up to call back at some point.... LOL read more
