The staff here works hard to try to get you in and out quickly, but like any other public service place, it is the morons that patronize the place that cause the problems. There is a never ending supply of people who have apparently never been to the post office before clogging up the line and delaying the process for the rest of us. Then there are the soldiers. The men and women in their uniforms picking up packages mailed to them; clutching their slips of paper signifying that they have a box form a loved one. They are there mailing packages to other soldiers and to their own families. More than once I have left that post office with a huge lump in my throat, and laid my forehead on the steering wheel until the mist in my eyes clears, imagining what they and their families face. If you ever see a soldier in the post office, its a good chance to say, "Hey, Thanks."

I was born in New Orleans and never knew that the east bank side of the river near Braithwaite was actually named Scarsdale. However, I'm simply going to refer to it as the Belle Chasse ferry; but I digress. The Belle Chasse Ferry connects the towns of Belle Chasse and Braithwaite (Scarsdale) The ferry opened in sometime in the late 1950's was originally free of charge. Presently, tolls are it $1 for 2-axle vehicles, $2 for vehicles with at least 3 axles, and $.50 for motorcycles. According to the Plaquemines Parish government website, the eastbank ferry leaves every 15 and 45 minutes on the hour between 5:15 AM and 12:15 AM; the westbank ferry leaves on the top and bottom of every hour between 5 AM and Midnight. With the closing of the Pointe-a-la-Hache Ferry in January 2013, the Belle Chasse Ferry became the furthest down river vehicle crossing of the Mississippi River. Therefore it's pretty convenient if you plan your crossings according to the published schedule. The current ferry, named Plaquemines Pride, was built in 2004 and is in very good shape. Although many depend on the ferry for their transportation needs, I ride of of pure enjoyment; mostly for my son. The ferry is a favorite past-time for my him, and I haven't found a child who doesn't love to ride across the river. There's nothing like watching a child's excitement as the captain applies power and the props begin to kick up huge waves behind the boat and the whole deck vibrates from the power. Happy times!

I only knew I did not want to clean it. I tried my best but I failed. I woke up to the smell/stains being way worse the next day. It was like I hadn't done anything. I tried to Google to figure out the mistakes I made but I got frustrated so I searched Yelp, then started a project on Yelp. Projects on Yelp allowed me to create a service request that I was able to initiate, customize, and manage in real-time. No automated phone answering systems or long wait time or holds! I was able to make immediate contact, explain the request, and receive a quote in a mater of minutes through chat within the Yelp app. I could even provide photos which eliminated the need for a site inspection. I put the description in as carpet cleaning, stain/liquid waste removal and within a few seconds multiple companies reached out to me. D&G sent me a message requesting information first. I spoke directly with the owner. After a few minutes I received a quote, was dispatched a tech, and was booked for a same day appointment only 45 minutes after initial contact. I was directly contacted via text by Ivan D. who provided tracking updates for the request that gave an introduction of the tech I was booked that included name and photo, an ETA of his arrival, and live updates of the job. I was thoroughly impressed. This was very convenient. This was fantastic customer service. I booked Shelton Frey, the man is a wizard! Shelton communicated with me well, was punctual and was very professional. He got the job done efficiently and quickly. He was thorough. The smell was eliminated and the carpet was cleaned and treated. I was even told what to do next time and what errors were made. I spoke with Shelton about other areas because I intend to use D&G for the foreseeable future.

I paid $205.44 for them to ship a $1,500 piece of art that I purchased from Renegade Art. They lost a critical component of the art piece itself and continue to refuse to respond to my contacts. They think that if they ignore the problem and remain silent, it will just go away. Both Rob Schmidt, the owner of the business, as well as Luz Lekrik, the Store Manager have been WELL informed of the problem and made the baffling decision to tarnish their store's reputation rather than fixing a simple problem. I even showed them how simple the solution would be, but they remain silent. Ordinarily, someone in my position would be quick to fire off one of those 1 star angry reviews we all see all the time and roll our eyes, but I will have to give them a little credit. The main piece of art that was received was very well packed, so I'll give them 3 stars for that, but the loss of the critical component, combined with their complete and utter lack of communication when the tiniest bit of trouble showed up earns them the loss of 2 stars.
