I had a 1 liter mug of Beck's beer to start (great photo ops!) and for lunch I had the Original Bayrische Weibwrust mit Brezel which is the infamous white brats simmering in a nice broth and a large pretzel with yummy sweet mustard. My wife had the Brizza Flammkuchen Art which is basically a pizza using pretzel bread and containing sour cream, bacon and onions. Surprisingly tasty. Fairly filling lunch but not too sure this food type is my style. We had just left Rome that morning and had been eating delicious Italian food for over 2 weeks so this German food was quite a change. I realize it's airport food but still, Anton & Anni seems to have some authentic looking offerings. Oh, and they had a robot food cart with a cat face on it running around. They get points for that as it's still a novelty in 2025. We had a friendly server/bartender and the staff were super busy running around a lot. I can think of better places for lunch but this fit the occasion for our layover.

When our flight was delayed a few hours, our airline gave us a voucher that we could use at most of the cafes at the airport. Bring in the Z terminal, this was the closest one where I thought I would get some baked goods and sandwiches for breakfast! The way that I was treated was kind of appalling. I ordered 3 of the sandwiches and a pretzel, and when I asked if I could get the sandwich warmed up (because the other cashier literally asked his customer and warmed up the guys sandwich right in front of me), the cashier responded with a blatant "no." Me: but it looks like you guys do warm up the sandwiches, I just saw him do it?? Cashier: you're using a voucher so no. Me: seriously? Cashier: yes seriously. Me: can I pay for you to warm it up? Cashier suddenly cant understand me.. 2 stars cuz the sandwiches were still surprisingly good for being cold. But making me feel like I am asking for free food when the airline is actually paying them is not cool.

Checked out The Bar when I had a layover in Frankfurt, the creative name attracted me. It's a…read morelittle confusing at first as the right-hand side of the restaurant is a cafe where you order drinks and grab-and-go sandwiches at the counter. The left-hand side of the restaurant, on the other hand, has waiter service. We sat in the sit-down area which is pretty small, eight tables or so. There are several other restaurants in the same area including a pizza joint and another German restaurant which is slightly bigger. We had the wiener schnitzel sandwich which comes with breaded chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and mayo on bread. We ordered a side of fries which seemed to come from the other German restaurant close by. The sandwich was mediocre at best. It seemed like the chicken had been sitting out for a while as it was a little mushy and lukewarm. Pretty disappointing as we were expecting a fresh sandwich from a sit-down restaurant. The other half of the meal was great. The fries were straight out of the fryer and crispy. We also got a heaping amount of fries which was a surprise given portion sizes in Europe. A German beer to round out the meal wasn't too shabby either. German beer is always good. They offered them in three different sizes.

Both were made to order. The muesli was delicious with an assortment of good fruit. The latte was fine, not the best I've had but good for an airport joint. The place is clean and easy to find as it's in terminal 1 at the intersection of many gates. Bottom line...good place to have a quick bite or drink between flights. I definitely recommend the museli and the service is excellent! Pros Great service that's friendly Museli is great Good location in terminal 1

Grabbed lunch here during a layover in Frankfurt on the way to Istanbul. The window tables have a…read morenice view of the tarmac (I mean that in a positive way) They had a Grilled Jumbo Prawn special plate for 8.5€. We asked and confirmed it was singular, but came with a salad so should be OK for a meal. The g/f got that and I got the Currywurst with fries (7.9€) The prawn plate had a peeled head-on shrimp with a couple of sauces, bread, and a salad (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/kuffler-und-bucher-frankfurt-am-main?select=-QBifqbsi8M-v_xqoIWOxA#3IBckA_6qjMc3Pw5vkqGjw). The prawn was well cooked. The salad was limp and overdressed. Currywurst came with a big pile of fries (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/kuffler-und-bucher-frankfurt-am-main?select=-QBifqbsi8M-v_xqoIWOxA#Vk-XuME7TH6H1f9qc4I39w). The wurst was juicy, but the curry was pretty bland. Fries were crispy how I like them. The server often disappeared so it was a process to get things done like water refills, getting our check, and paying.

Well, I've discovered that you're trapped on Frankfurt airport once you pass customs (to be…read moreexpected I guess). Our gate is C08 and we unfortunately discovered there is NOTHING back there! So, if you arrive a bit early, definitely head over to B for any per-flight beverages. Kufflers charges 6€ for a 0.5l of Paulander Weissebier, which is a bit steep, but I guess you can't really complain too much for being inside security and customs in an airport. We also ordered the sushi to share. I was not impressed. It came from a pre-packed box, which they just opened up and brough on a plate to the table. I guess for the price I would have expected at least someone make the rolls when ordered. One positive was the view - there were great seats at the window where you can watch the planes! When you're "inside" your options are definitely limited! However, if you do have time to kill, it's an acceptable place to kill it. p.s. The service was very slow despite the customers to server ratio. Just be aware so you can ask for your bill with enough time (or already when you order your food and drinks).
