Dr Samantha Sweeney has changed my life with my adjustments! I would highly recommend it to anyone who works on their feet. 10/10.

He is…read morehappy to see you when you come in, he remembers what is going on in your life and talks to you with heart when he sees you. His adjustments are spot-on, and best of all he does not try to sell you any supplements or extra services. His staff is excellent, they even respond to text messages after hours when I have questions. I'm not sure I can recommend this place highly enough. They have taken away a great deal of my pain CONSISTENTLY over the past few years. I don't usually write many reviews. And I tend to write mostly positive reviews, for folks who are doing a superior job because I feel that people who write terribly negative reviews are doing it in order to bring the person down out of anger, spite, or competition. I suspect that some of the negative reviews here about his practice are targeting Dr. Mike for other reasons. Perhaps it is competitor, or a or disgruntled past employee who wrote them...? I have seen five different chiropractors in the last 20 years in the Ann Arbor-Saline-Ypsilanti area, three different osteopaths, and several different Physical Theripists. I had an injury that required different therapy at different times and I also have rheumatoid arthritis. Of all of the people that I have gone to see, Dr. Mike ranks in the top two. Some of these therapists and doctors were excellent and some were terrible. A couple were mediocre. I would name their names because it's not an ethical thing to do. I am a kindergarten teacher and I live and work in Ann Arbor, MI. I practice what I teach about honesty and kindness. Here is what I can tell you... Dr. Mike has a lovely, clean office, with a terrific atmosphere. The bathrooms are clean, he has complementary coffee, tea, and water in the waiting area, and (I'm not sure I can say this last part enough) HE IS AN EXCELLENT CHIROPRACTOR. Dr. Meath can do traditional manipulations, and he can also do manipulations with that tiny metal gun shaped device which some folks prefer. He can take X-rays, but does not require it. Also, I think it is important to note that I don't go to see Dr. Mike because of the atmosphere, or the free drinks, or because of how clean the bathroom is. I go to see him because he is ethical, kind, and he is not a shyster who sells a bunch of extra potions, lotions, x-rays, tonics, or other services. He is straight up, honest, he listens to what you say, and he tells you about all the things he can do to help, always listening to what your preference is. He has never over-billed me for ANYTHING and I have excellent coverage. I love that after my first visit, I have never waited more than 15 minutes for an appointment. Once as a walk-in, I waited at most 18 minutes. He does not ever mind adding a walk-in client to his schedule! Today, while I was thinking to make an appointment to go in, I decided to leave Dr. Meath a review because it occurred to me what excellent care I have received there over the years before seeing him. I was shocked to see anyone negative review here! Prior to finding Rr. Mike's office, I floated around from place to place looking for a person who wasn't trying to sell me something other than an adjustment. That is sometimes hard to find in the world of adjustments and chiropractic care. If you are searching, like I was, this is the place to go; your search will be over. Also, if you're just looking for very good care given by an extremely kind and thoughtful human being, this is your place. Thoughtfully, Diane VanDorn Real person, real teacher (Not just using my last initial or first name, because I stand by what I write). PS-Dr. Mike does not offer any reward, incentive, gift card, nor percent off for a positive review. He never even asked for a review!

I am so incredibly disappointed in my experience with Borer Chiropractic. I am bummed that this…read moreisn't a five star review and that my back issues have not been treated properly. I was having back/shoulder pain and limited range of motion. Dr. Rob Borer was recommended to me because he had a very gentle approach. Dr. Rob uses a clicky-tool to make adjustments and not his hands. At my first appointment, he adjusted me through manipulation with the clicky. After going to him twice a week for about 6 weeks, I started getting headaches after our appointments. The headaches became regular. Then, I started getting migraines after seeing Dr. Rob. I communicated this to Dr. Rob. He suggested taking xrays, because he said that I shouldn't be getting these migraines, and that maybe there is something going on with me that he wasn't aware of. The xrays shed light for Dr. Rob on the state of my spine. He said that it was good that he took xrays and that he was going to change his approach in how he adjusted me. My appointment after the X-ray assessment seemed better. Dr. Rob was more gentle than he previously. He even used something as a buffer between me and the clicky tool when he adjusted my neck. However, the next time I went to him, he didn't have the same approach as the time before. He took his clicky tool and adjusted me. I felt a migraine come on while I was still laying on the table. I asked him if he adjusted me differently, like last time, because of my X-rays. Well, he had actually forgotten all about the xrays and the new/different approach. His response to me was "I didn't change anything about how I adjusted you, I adjusted you like I did last time." Wait.... What? I didn't even say anything. I knew right then that I had to stop going to him and that he was not going to help me. I vigilantly communicated with him about my symptoms before every adjustment. He took lots of notes. I really had faith in him helping me, and went to him like he instructed me to, which was twice a week. I went to him twice a week for a total of three months. I went to him up until the time after my xray review, when it was extremely obvious that he did not have my xrays in mind at all during the adjustment. The aftermath: it is now almost three months since the last time I went to Dr. Rob Borer. I struggle with intense migraines DAILY. They are 100%, directly a result of my adjusts from Dr. Rob. I have been to my doctor several times for migraines in the past three months. I have a referral for a physical medicine doctor that I will finally see next week, after a two month long waitlist. I am on a daily medication for migraines, to try to prevent them. On top of that, I have two separate prescriptions as over-the-counter medications have not helped at all. I also bought specific glasses for migraines, so the light sensitivity associated with migraines doesn't have such an effect on me. I had to buy these (expensive and extremely stupid looking) green-light-filtering glasses to be able to go into work every day. I was struggling to work every day in a brightly lit office and the glasses help make my work environment more bearable. Sunny days are very difficult for me. Bright lights trigger my migraines. It is important to note that after I stopped going in for chiropractic appointments, I called up there to speak with Dr. Rob and tell him what was going on and why I stopped coming in. I couldn't reach him directly on the phone, but I did explain on his voicemail that I stopped coming in because I was getting bad migraines. I was hoping he would have make a new plan of action. I was hoping that he would get back to me with something.... Anything! But I did not hear back from him at all. My biggest piece of advice if you go to Dr. Rob is if you have chronic back pain, insist he take xrays before he does any manipulation. Talk with him BEFORE each adjustment about what he is about to do, so you can remind him of your plan of action every time. I do realize that my side effects from Dr. Rob's adjustments are very rare. But the pain and discomfort I now deal with on a daily basis can be all-consuming and debilitating and I felt responsible to share my experience. I'm going to end this on a positive, and that is to say I honestly enjoyed each visit to Borer Family Chiropractic. The receptionist Audrey is truly a delight. I loved all of my conversations with her that I have had while waiting for appointments or while I was checking out. I also had pleasant conversations with Dr. Rob. Also, scheduling appointments online was a breeze.

I also just realized that their website promises "$87 DOLLARS FLAT RATE FOR CONSULTATION, ADJUSTMENT, EXAMINATION AND X-RAY IF NEEDED"... They did the exam and X-ray but had me schedule a different appointment for adjustment, and said that would be $40-something dollars. Edit: Just so that we're clear, it wasn't the lack of masks at the office that make me think Borer is a covid denier (though every other medical professional I saw over the summer was still wearing them) it was a series of social media posts that were forwarded to me by someone familiar with him - articles from right-wing propaganda sites about how masks don't work and covid numbers are fake, among other egregious Trump-train material.

However, after trying massage therapy, physical therapy, yoga, foam rolling, etc. for over a year, I finally decided to give it a try. I went to Andrea based on a recommendation from a friend. She is very professional, reassuring and friendly. With the initial consultation, x-rays are taken and then she sets up a treatment plan. She is great about tailoring the adjustment to individual needs (and fears!). She was very gentle with my adjustments and we eventually found one that "worked" for me. After approx. 20 visits, my treatment was "complete" although I still see her monthly for general adjustments. I feel relief and release in the problem area, like a burden has been lifted. Another plus: her super friendly and sweet little dog Sophie, who loves to greet patients!

If you need gentle massage they also have a woman who does massages. However, I think he is as good as it gets. Dr. Hesselberg, or "Dr. H," is very passionate about what he does and living a healthy lifestyle. He does manual manipulation with his hands - no "tools" to aid in adjustments. He definitely knows what he is doing and always asks if I have any aches or pains before getting started. You can text and schedule/cancel appointments that way! It's so convenient! The only downside, I would say, is that I didn't initially see Dr. H when I began care here. They had me going to another chiropractor here named Dr. John. He was not helpful with my condition. Going to him, I was getting headaches & migraines. I told them that I wasn't going to come in anymore because I didn't think Dr. John was helping so that's when they scheduled me with Dr. H. I will say that Dr. John has a much gentler approach, so if you need a gentle approach then maybe go to him. I have very specific issues that unless I am treated with manual manipulation with lots of cracking, chiropractic care does not work for me.
