Mikka had been on my mind to try and tonight seemed the perfect evening after weeks of entertaining and fine dining. I needed something simple, clean and healthy to eat. The restaurant is dog friendly so we took the last table outside on the small but comfortable terrace with our two dogs.
The menu is limited which makes it easy to make a decision. I choose the camaron bowl with fresh zucchini noodles instead of rice. The shrimp was very fresh and the combo of miso, scallions, jicama, seaweed and avocado. Delicious!
My husband had the teriyaki bowl equally as good. It consisted of chicken, teriyaki sauce, caramelized onions, cucumbers, sesame seeds and seaweed. He also choose the zucchini noodles.
We both felt very satisfied with our Asian bowls. We did try the Mexican cheesecake which was the recipe of the owners mother. It was surprisingly divine!
The owner could not have been nicer and fortunate for us spoke excellent English.
I look forwarded to making this one of my regular go to places for a casual dinner. read more
