I asked the older gentleman at the desk about the honda and he adimately denys they have ever worked on this vehicle, argues with me about it. Mind you i have a stack of receits in the glove box from this place, finally he gets the vin number and then says yeah we worked on this vehicle. I was thinking great we are finally getting somewhere. So i asked to make an appointment to get the things fixed on the car and he refuses to let me make an appointment, says they dont do that there, which blew my mind. I said ok let me get an alignment while im here, he says theres not enough time left in the day. It was 2 in the afternoon and they werent busy. I said ok can i make an appointment for tomorrow or wednesday to get the alignment and he replys no we dont do that. So...... obviously they dont need business there. Specialty Transmission in Mobile, AL. has a customer for life here…read more They recently did some repair work for me prior to a 2500-mile return trip home. That evening following the repair work, after getting 200 miles out of town, there was a problem with a defective bushing. The transmission developed a significant leak, rendering the vehicle undriveable. It was after business hours, but I called Specialty Transmission and was able to reach Jody, the owner. Jody called Jared, a friend of his who lived nearby. Jared came out to where we were stranded during a torrential downpour, assessed the problem, and arranged for a tow to a nearby hotel. Jody got on the phone and started looking for replacement parts. He found them first thing the next morning, drove 200 miles, and with Jared's help (and the use of his lift) personally replaced the defective part, along with a couple of related parts, just to make absolutely sure there wouldn't be any more trouble. We were on our way within a couple of hours, and the vehicle performed trouble-free the entire 2500-mile trip home, driving some days as many as 15 hours. If you're thinking about having transmission work done in Mobile, AL. by anyone other than Specialty Transmission, you should reconsider. Fortunately, a kind Samaritan provided a temporary fix to get her to Mobile, at which time, we planned to visit a shop for further inspection by a professional. Naturally, she was relieved to arrive in Mobile but also worried about her ability to make the drive home and I was concerned, as well. Being that it was going to be 3-4pm before she arrived and that it was also Friday, I was concerned about being able to be seen on a whim, too. I wasn't sure who to call but recently had new tire replacement at Majestic Tire and had a pleasant experience. Thus, I figured I would start there and give them a call. I explained the situation and how my friend would be leaving Sunday evening to go home (this was simply a weekend visit) and asked if they could possibly take a look at her vehicle. Surprisingly, they told me to go ahead and come in as soon as she arrived in Mobile. I was grateful they were going to see us, especially given it was Friday and only a couple hours until close. But would you believe they stayed after about 15 minutes to finish up her car? I am sure after a hardworking and busy week, everyone was eager to go home but they cared enough about us and our situation to stay the extra 15 minutes. I need to mention as well that this wasn't some kind of money making job. What they charged us wasn't much which makes it even more impressive they still cared. I cannot tell you how impressed I am with the integrity and compassion of everyone at Majestic Tire. Not only is their pricing competitive, they do quality work and everyone I have interacted with has been so nice.
