We went to Peaks Island kind of in a whim - made reservation a couple days prior - they were very responsive by email - I 100% goofed on time I reserved car for an hour after the ferry arrived. We poked around the stores and had a pastry at the bakery. We then went to Mike's (so conveniently located) and asked if we could get the cart early. Yup no problem at all!! They were great so accommodating -very informative and polite! Not much to do on island - at least for us - so don't know if we will go back. I reserved one cart online this summer never received confirmation of that transaction, but I did pay for one cart on the island when checking in. A couple weeks later received a email stating I still owed them money. I did pay the second time but then I realized they had actually doubled charged me. Golf carts rule the roads of Peaks Island! Mike's is right off the ferry. I booked online so it was easy easy. I can share, we got off the ferry at 9:30am and that was our time slot. He does a group orientation then you are on your way. The time starts when you get into your cart. Booking online had its advantages: we got our gold cart first andnit was a nice cart with leather seats. Easy ride. Lots of fun for our family of four and we just loved this experience. Got off Peaks Islands and Mikes Carts is right there. It was a windy day so I didn't want to walk the island. The carts were a perfect way to get around the island. You were allowed to get on and get off wherever you wanted. Easy to use and park. The cart has a usb port as well to charge your phones. It was easy to get a reservation, I did it on the spot. $100 for 2 hours, it was only me so it was expensive, but if you had multiple people on the cart and split the price then it would be good! read more

Buyer Beware- They refuse to refund cancellations! These guys are crooks! We reserved a golf cart and paid $100 up front for this past Memorial Day weekend, 2021. Unfortunately the weather report was torrential downpours. We cancelled via text 2 days prior, which Mike's Carts acknowledged back via text. (We have their cancellation confirm text as proof). They refused to refund our credit card. We disputed through our credit card company to no avail. We've been disputing this for 4 months and they refuse to refund our money. I will never make a Resy or do business with them again! They are thieves who stole our $100. Not a reputable business! They sent me an email end of September, after I posted my cancellation text on their site. Promised to reimburse my $100. Never did, then closed for the season.... SMH.... If you don't have a reservation 24 hrs in advance don't bother. Young kid who was working when we came can didn't care anything about his job. Instead of getting ahead and doing paper work with all the customers waiting in line (for 45 mins) while the carts charged, the kid was sitting in the corner with his friends drinking white claws and smoking a blunt. Then he walked off the property with his girlfriend when at least 4 people pulled in to return their carts and didn't return for 15 mins. People were just standing around super confused as to what to do. He came back looking like he went swimming with his girlfriend in the ocean. We want the owner to come run his business again. Pleasant staff, and quick in and out rental. I'm sure that's more based on whether you're arriving on or off "peak". On peak, definitely call ahead for a rental reservation, as I saw several folks turned away when returning our cart. Just a heads up, when they tell you you can call them to extend your rental another hour or so, it's not as flexible and sure as it sounds. Not knowing how long we'd be, we opted for two hours. At an hour and a half we called to extend another hour and were told we could not, because they needed the cart. Kind of a bummer, but made the best of it exploring the downtown area on foot. Recommendation to the staff, just be sure to add the disclaimer to the rental extension comments. If aware we would have likely opted for 3 hours. read more

(LOVE THE BEACH) Special shout-out to the young man working there who looked a bit like Jesus. He helped me rent a cart. He had blue eyes and was very understanding. I rented a golf cart the day before my visit. I called to confirm their location. I was told they need 24 hour prior reservation. I said your site said you don't do same day reservations. They claimed it did (we went through entire site....nothing). They said to come 9:15 or 10:15 for best chances. We came at 10:15 and realized we received back a email from their site that said 7/2 reservations. I showed it to the employee and she said I didn't have a reservation confirmation and most have reserved on the wrong day. First, the email had the day before and second why the hell if that is so would have allowed me to make a reservation on the wrong day?!?! No apology: No we will reserve the next cart that comes in for you. I withdrew have given a half star but the employee was half way friendly. Would NOT recommend UPDATED: SCREWED AGAIN!!! Texted ahead just like they recommended at 12;00. And got in line. They took the first 8 people. We were number 9. Non of the people had texted but me. I was #9. WTH was the purpose of the text?!?! I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. Waste of time. 1/2 a star. Piss poor website and customer service. read more

Rental system was disorganized and inefficient. Customer service lacking; staff did not seem to care much. A customer from the back of the line thought he had a reservation so he cut the line, staff said he didn't have a reservation, then put his name on the waitlist. They served us next, and also put our name on the waitlist, after the man who cut the line. We had to point this fact out to them, after which they put our name before his, and said "that's all we can do." We eventually got a cart after waiting a long while. Moral of the story: if you want to guarantee you have a cart, book ahead of time, and track them down via phone/email to confirm you actually have a reservation, or you run the risk of them not having your confirmation, and/or waiting a long time for a cart. read more

These carts are the way to get around on the island for the day. The rental lot is right outside the Casco Bay ferry station. We paid $25 an hour with a credit card. We didn't reserve online and were able to get a rental (we did arrive at 9:30a on a Tuesday). You need to present at least one valid drivers license to rent. Same rules and laws apply as if you were driving a car. They also have full day rates. Easy return. Highly recommended if you visit. They is way more to see around the island. read more

Tried reserving the midweek night before, and got the simple message, "Thanks, Mike received your reservation request!" so thought we were good. Drove 2 hours and paid to park to pay ferry fare. When we got there were told we hadn't reserved anything and we were out of luck. Long trip, parking and ferry fare for nothing. Thanks for a crappy website, no empathy or even an attempt to help us out with a wait list or anything. He has a right to his policy but his customer communication sucks. Forget him. read more
