Nice low key experience today. No one greets you until you walk up to any of the counters located on the outskirts of the store. From there you are greeted by a multitude of people. I asked about a 16-25mm lens for my Sony. Lo and behold they had it in stock. On top of that I actually had a coupon from a Sony event a couple days before and it came in handy! Gotta love those savings. This is the first time to go to any Mike's Camera and the experience did not disappoint. I'll have to return and spend a little more time running around. I still have a tripod, filters and a couple more accessories on my list. Whether you're looking for a professional camera or a point and shoot, this is the place to go. I have been a Smiles member for years. And have been satisfied with my photos. But now, if you are a smiles member you have to come in and sit at a booth on a Tuesday to get the discounted Smiles price. So I decided to do this. I'm not computer illiterate but the in store application is very difficult and frustrating. You upload your pictures from your phone and your phone says that they are uploaded, but they don't show up on the kiosk. So I started over, on my 3rd try I got some pictures to show up at the kiosk and the screen was blurry. I gave up. The editing capabilities are very limited. read more

Lots of nostalgic goodies and gift ideas. Nice to have a photo processing place to go to which has knowledgeable associates. We wandered around as my son was looking at Polaroid cameras. I will chalk it up to the particular employees I dealt with at first not being fully tuned in to my situation. Otherwise, I am glad this store exists, full-featured camera stores are becoming rare and it's good to see stores like this still around! ---- original review below ---- Rented a very expensive Tamron lens - was disappointed that it was not in proper condition, it was out of spec and did not work properly. I returned it early the next day after test shots only and they pretty much said that the rental equipment at this location isn't very good and that their Boulder location has better stuff. No refund, even partial. Wasted my time going here, the lens rental firms online have never let me down on quality working lenses, this store does not measure up. read more

We purchased a 12 x 16 family portrait from our daughter's wedding photographer, and the print arrived very washed out. Fortunately, she also provided us with a download, and we took the jpeg to Mike's Camera. Ben was so incredibly helpful. He helped us figure out the perfect finish for the photo, and when it turned out they did not offer the finish we wanted in the size we wanted, he contacted the Boulder store (where the photo would be processed) and was able to get us exactly what we wanted. Picked up the photo yesterday and it is absolutely perfect....vibrant colors, excellent finish, and it will be a perfect memory on our wall of a perfect day. read more

I love to recommend good places and good people so 5 stars is NOT enough for the Wheat Ridge Mike's Camera location. They are so knowledgeable and do not judge, they honestly want to help you become a better photographer- smart business tactic! So helpful, so patient. I am new to photography and they walked me through some basics to get started (and get excited about taking photos in nature) and Jeremy never made me feel silly for not knowing the specifics. He helped guide and gave great support and suggestions for ways t learn and improve. Workers are always very helpful, development and scans are always done well, and is all done for a reasonable price in a good amount of time. Having lived in the area for many many years, I had never visited Mikes Camera. But recently, needed to have a document framed so decided to stop in to see what was offered in the store. I found a very pretty well-priced frame which was perfect for my needs. I worked with Ben who was so very helpful, suggesting several options for me to consider. He was both professional and kind showing me that he was most interested in making sure that I was a well-pleased customer. I was looking for a special camera and lens for my daughter to use underwater, and I had the great fortune of meeting Rachel Gallmeyer at Mike's Camera. Addendum: My daughter visited Denver over the holidays, and before returning to her Navy service at Pearl Harbor, I wanted to to get the insurance policy that she wanted for her camera. Loved the class. The first part offered a lecture with tons of great information and a chat section. Due to a family emergency I had to leave the zoom about 5 minutes in. Mike's camera recorded it and I was able to ask for the link by email. It was great to be able to stop when I wanted to jot something down. The second part was a in person and we met at Kountze Lake in Belmar Park. Kind of overcast so in our small groups we had lots of questions to ask about camera settings, lighting and such. Emily was extremely help. The third part was more helpful information on how to critique our own work and was followed by Scott posting our photos and giving feedback. Mike's CAMERA in Lone Tree recently processed a 16X20 canvas for us in a big hurry, for a memorial service. Understanding the pressing nature and the short time period, Charlene and Andrew worked hard to help scan and edit the photo we had on hand, then further negotiated an expedited schedule of the canvas from another Mike's location that provides canvas processing. This took a matter of over an hour on the phone and computer and further expediting to make the close deadline. These guys are, hands-down, awesome!! Thanks to Mike's Camera we have our print just in time for our need. I have worked with this store to buy all of my camera equipment and online processing, and they have always been found to be honest and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend them. read more
