Ours went from wanting to trade my husbands truck in for him a newer truck to it ended up getting switched behind our backs and being my car that was currently there in service for the 9th time. at signing I find out I now do not have a car because it was in trade in completely opp of what we said we wanted. then after hours and hours of being there again they knew I was tired I was ready to go insisted we make a second purchase for me something and I clearly stated I will only do it if we can keep my payments around the same. again get back there to sign and instead of the 400 mark it was 900 something I throw my hands up stated I'm not doing that absolutely not!!! my husband and I both go outside to get away and the finance manager follows us out tells me to just take the care and think on it then goes in and comes back says oh we will just take money off the price to get payment down etc (8800)dollars. fast forward my trade in ended up costing me still making the payment on it while they have it listed for sale driving it around even driving it to Houston but do not pay it off, I was told by this finance manager 3 different times 1 he was going to over night payment to pay off, 2nd check was mailed for payoff, 3rd we are hand delivering it today 4 days later 3 days after 20 day pay off it gets paid, in the mean time on this 2nd vehicle he was trying to get a deal on he is hounding me for a down payment I said I'm sorry after having to make a vehicle payment on a vehicle I don't have I can't afford it, he gets very aggressive through text threatens to come get the vehicle calls my husband leaving him a voicemail saying he doesn't know whats wrong with me all he was trying to do is help etc my husband calls him and they discuss maybe this isn't a good idea to do a second vehicle if it's not to late we will drop it off he said you can bring it back it's not a finalized deal, so that's what we did. 1 week after dropping it off they finalize it I get a notification a vehicle has been added to my credit here I no longer have!! my husband calls again and explains to a different manager they claim that original manager was fired and they didn't know any of this was going on, next day I get a very nasty text from fired manager calling me every name in the book from the C word to the B word, cussing me out threatening me he hopes the worst happens to me calling me fat etc. so now I am without a vehicle but did have a 2025 and total mess on my hands. needless to say I would say the same as others stay away!

It isn't very often a business transaction makes you so angry you feel like you need to take a…read moreshower. Today was that day for myself and my wife. One of the hardest vehicles to purchase today, without paying handsomely over sticker (M.S.R.P), is the Ford Maverick. Without going into too much detail, the Maverick is an affordable small pickup truck that comes in both internal combustion engine (I.C.E), and hybrid I.C.E. When this vehicle was first produced is also when COVID happened and the delays to produce the vehicle are stuff of legend. Proposed new owners that placed orders have been forced to wait more than 18 months or more in some cases. Of course, in some cases those people give up and an occasional Maverick will show up at a dealership without an owner to claim their ordered vehicle. My first Hybrid version was procured in this manner in May of 2022. Most Ford dealerships are adding between $2000 and $7500 in what is called Market Adjustment addons to the price of the vehicle. My wife found one such Maverick in Salina, Kansas for $5000 over. We flew to Kansas City and the dealership drove us to Salina, about three hours west of K.C. to purchase the truck. We drove it to our home in Dallas, and then our condo in south Florida. Almost one year later we decided we wanted another Maverick for our Dallas home. The hybrid Mavericks are next to impossible to locate and have we settled for the I.C.E. version of their highest package Maverick and the search began. On Friday, March 16th my wife uses the Ford app to find Mavericks that show where they have been delivered. She then calls to find out if they have an owner assigned and if they don't what the dealership is asking? We really do not want nor can afford to pay over M.S.R.P. In the late afternoon on the 17th, she notices that she has received a voice mail from Dick Scott Ford in Mexia (pronounced Ma - he - uh), Texas. This is 61 miles from our home. Remember we flew to Kansas for the first Maverick, so 61 miles isn't out of the question. She returns the call of the voicemail while we are driving to dinner around 6:45 pm. While on speakerphone Bill (the caller and manager of Dick Scott Ford) says he does have an I.C.E. Maverick with the Lariat (highest) package. He comes across as an old country boy and we proceed to ask if there is a market adjustment on this vehicle? He says jokingly, "Do you want one?" He states that at Dick Scott Ford we don't treat the customer that way. So, we tell him we are going to be there very early on Saturday morning to have a look and likely buy the Maverick. On Saturday, March 18th at approximately 9 A.M. we arrive at Dick Scott Ford in Mexia, Texas. The black Ford Maverick is sitting on the sparse lot of the dealership. Bill sees us right away and comes over in his golf cart to greet us. He asks if we would like to drive it and hands us the key fob? Patty and I drive for about five minutes and we are ready to purchase it. It drives different than the hybrid as this is an all-wheel-drive and doesn't have the electric assisted braking my other Maverick has. Once inside Bill begins the process of the purchase to include copies of our driver's license and two pages of forms filled out, along with our signatures. Next up is the financing portion of the process. About that time another man shows up in the dealership, and greetings are had by the two men. We think nothing about this. We learn later that Bill is the manager, but this person is another salesman. A few moments later an older lady enters the dealership and Bill greets her also and she says she is here to see the other man. Of course, interest rates have risen a great deal since we purchased our first Maverick in 2022. Prior to coming my wife and I had discussed that if needed we would use our bank (USAA) to get the best rate, if the Ford rate was not as favorable. Bill proceeded to the back to run the paperwork for the Ford financing rate and my wife excused herself to use the restroom. Bill hands me a printed sheet with a rate that exceeds what my wife had previously stated we thought we could get with our bank. Just after I stated we would be making an application via our bank, Bill says there has been a problem. He says that his partner had promised this vehicle to the lady that came into the dealership while we were completing the paperwork. He says she had put money down previously. Bells and whistles are going off in my head at this point. I asked how he did not know this when we called yesterday, or today when this man arrived? He states they had not talked. Keep in mind this is a less than two horse town and a tiny dealership. What I really believe, but can't prove, is that because they knew we would not be using their financing is when the magical first buyer was called. I wish I could prove it, but there is nothing I can do except tell you to stay away from Dick Scott Ford in Mexia, Texas.

The work was done in a reasonable time and for a good price which I did not expect from a dealer. It was about the same as another mechanic and actually less than a couple other quotes I received. Very pleased with the staff and their work.
