Shea's got properties from 350k to 450k on 2400sqft and up to 3600sqft. 3-5 bedrooms with some bedroom conversion options, which fall in the category of what we are interested in for our purchase. The homes themselves are stunning and very well thought out. Custom designs and layouts in every home give the consumer a great idea of how much you can do with these homes which I fully appreciated. Karen at Shea Homes delivered some of the BEST customer service I could have hoped for and didn't flinch getting all our questions answered as well as giving us all options available. She really took her time with us AND still managed to help any other customers visiting while being professional and courteous to us all. The Customer service really a stands out here...couldn't ask for a better way to spend the day. I'll absolutely consider my next home purchase with shea homes.

The representative, Leah Damore, in sale office of the company told us that if we decide to build a new house, we can negotiate a price of the house make an offer. From our experience, we know that large production builders do not negotiate a price and do not accept any offers. But she confirmed that yes, we can negotiate a price and make an offer. We invited our realtor and Leah once again said that we can make an offer. We started the process to build new home. But when it came time to negotiate a price and sign a contract, we were denied that we could make an offer. Instead of apologizing and saying that our representative has no experience and made a mistake, the sales manager Bev Taylor made us guilty party and refused to sell us the house. Avoid at all costs if you'd like to save your time and money.

Recently, however, I finally had to reach out myself because out of nowhere, while making dinner, my sink stopped dispensing water and after I did some things it wouldn't stop. I called for support and while I was disappointed the after hour support was a voicemail, it did provide sufficient information to determine my next steps (i.e. call a plumber). Anyway, the next morning when I was able to reach someone, I connected with Wilsen who calmly walked me through what I could expect next. He and his team connected with the owner to get the maintenance request approved and shortly after the plumber arrived and worked his magic. Team work makes the dream work! Next, they scheduled 2 open house events. By the second open house, Oscar was able to qualify 2 potential buyers after only being 11 days on market. From the start, my interactions with Lisa at J. Johnson Property Management were disappointing and discouraging. I came in multiple times showing genuine interest in finding a home through their company, but each visit felt like I was being dismissed or overlooked. I provided all the documents requested, including proof of income and my Section 8 housing voucher, but every time I met one requirement, another one was added. At first, I was told my proof of income was acceptable. Then I was told I needed three months of consecutive income, even though my Section 8 voucher itself qualifies as a reliable source of rent payment. It seemed like no matter what I provided, there was always another reason to delay or deny assistance. Despite having my deposit ready and being a serious, qualified applicant, I was never given a fair chance. Lisa was often short with me, unhelpful, and made me feel like I was bothering her by simply following up. I went to the office multiple times and showed real interest in available units, but I was told those units were suddenly unavailable or that my paperwork "wasn't enough." I left feeling that I was not treated professionally or fairly, and possibly even discriminated against--whether because of my Section 8 status, my credit, or something else, I can't say for sure. But I know I met all reasonable requirements and showed responsibility and initiative. This experience was extremely disappointing and made me feel like my situation and efforts didn't matter. I hope this company takes the time to review how they handle applicants, especially those participating in government housing programs, because everyone deserves equal respect and opportunity when seeking housing.
