Fast forward, in January 2019, after returning from a business trip overseas, I found a real estate lock on my door. There was no note - just a combination lock. My first instinct was to check with the District court if there was a lien on the property and there was none. The mortgage company verified that my payments were always on time and I wasn't in default. However, when I contact the title insurance company, I was confronted by hostile, rude behavior beyond my imagination. This insurance company is run by thugs - do not buy title insurance from them because if you have a legitimate claim it would turn its back on you. I had a horrific experience with them and until this moment no one has even called to check if the matter has been resolved. A piece of garbage that is what this insurance is all about.
