I drop in here from time to time and I really have to give credit where credit is due. Great range of clothing, prices are expensive but not as expensive as the same articles in a Belfast store. read more

What a frigging waste of good real estate, prime baby prime! Sitting on the corner of the Main…read morestreet in Banbridge, this place should be HOT HOT HOT! But guess what...its NOT NOT NOT. Badly stocked and staff that have that unique blank stare that takes years of practise to perfect, I happened to be passing one day and went in looking for soft top socks for an elderly relative, having slight experience in shopping for older folk I realise that its useless asking a sales assistant under the age of 50 for any help, unless you want a pair of ill fitting jeans or thong underpants. Anyway, this morsel of a sales woman approached me and I told her what I wanted...'soft top socks please' ...eh? Bed socks? she asked? No I replied, soft top socks, for diabetics etc ..ohhhh she said, men's socks? At this stage I knew I was flogging a dead horse and I said no, SOFT TOP SOCKS!!! look around you I said, the average age of shopper was 60, chances are some of them might have use for such an item someday. I left her staring blankly at the £9.95 umbrellas and went on my way. I got them in Newry the following day, in any colour I wanted. Houstons is a bit like a cross between Grace Brothers and Step-toes yard. All a mish mash of things stuck here and there. not well designed or indeed stocked, they should be more informed of the undergarment requirements of elderly ladies, God knows Banbridge is packed full of them!

This is a review of tonymcdonnell.com…read more Shockingly poor company to do business with. Images on website did not match goods they tried to ship. Ignored all of my emails and shipped goods regardless. Failed to update website photos after I pointed out their error. Only comms was via Paypal when I disputed the transaction. Briefest of responses with no names provided. No sense of urgency or effort on their part. I had to drive the whole thing through PayPal and the seller's own couriers to eventually get a refund several weeks after having the money taken out of my account.

While it may look intimidating from the outside, the guys inside this heavily wooden panelled step back in time are so friendly and helpful. As a woman it feels like all men's clothes look the same, but these guys will help you through the cuts and shapes or whatever these shirts are called with warmth and knowledge. OK, they aren't the cheapest menswear shop in town, but with their old club feel and service, they are up amongst the classiest.

Caveat emptor certainly applies here. It has huge signs saying 75% off and once in - store there's…read moreanother sign saying cash only. My wife picked up clothing and had a figure in mind of £83, but when she got to check-out she was asked by the server for £94. She was correct and he was not. He was perhaps careless maybe up to a con but either way he didn't argue. Certainly the discount makes it seem like a bargain, but you need to have your wits about you and this isn't good as there's no trust. I knew the founder from the 1960's, a decent man from a decent family who sadly is no longer with us. He sure wouldn't tolerate this unacceptable approach toward customers. Retail is the art of selling goods that don't come back to customers who do, and ripping of customers is never a good idea, the staff here need to understand this.
