Pretty big Co-Op, but with a smallish food market area in the bottom floor. I would think the food…read morearea would have been larger for the overall size of the place. It is a bit hard to find things in this Co-Op as it is laid out somewhat in a circle and each floor is not very large. You are constantly going up and up and circling it feels like. I am always needing to look at the signs to remind myself were to find things. Also, it depends on which entrance you go into, Rue Du Rhone entrance, or the Plaza entrance. If you enter via the Church Plaza then you go down a couple of steps - 2nd level - and walk through the Take Away Hot Food section (not a vast selection, but good for something quick at lunch) and tourist made in China item area. The street entrance will have you next to some jewelry shop, and the chocolate candy area. Go all the way to the fourth floor for the Co-Op restaurant - which I always thought was expensive for the OK food I would get there at lunch.

They have managed to cram loads of items into a small store but you can find many things you may be craving from the US and the UK (they even have mince-pies!). They also have an online delivery service which, in my case, is often missing one of the items I ordered but nevertheless quick and efficient. As far as I know, these are the same guys that have a store in Nyon. P.S. another rarity in Switzerland; these guys are open 7 days a week!

In Geneva I was surprised to hear about an American market in Paquis (it's also hard to believe I'm now living in a city where American food is considered 'ethnic') and looked forward to checking it out. In particular, I wanted to see if they carried some baking ingredients I couldn't find in Coop or Migros (chocolate chips, brown sugar, food coloring, etc). I didn't really know what to expect coming here, but the first surprise was that the market was located through the door and up the stairs of a 60s-style diner. It took me a couple of pass-bys before I realized that I had to actually enter the diner to access the market. I'll start by saying that this is one of the smallest markets I've ever been in- with low ceilings and goods packed in every free space. I made the mistake of wearing a backpack that day, and I was unable to turn around in the aisles without knocking something over! They do have quite the selection of American goods- from chips to boxed meals to seasonal goods (seems like a good place to grab a few decorations for 4th of July, Halloween or thanksgiving), including my baking ingredients, but the prices are insane... you would think that every ingredient was personally formulated, packaged and shipped to you! Unfortunately, due to the prices, I can't say I can afford to come back anytime soon- I've been priced out of my own ethnic market!

This is a mini and compact basic Migros compared to others I have been in. They have the basic…read morefood and health/body items only here. The store is spread out between two micro floors. Even though it is small, at least it is clean and doesn't smell (unlike the Migros by my office). But, the selection is limited as compared to the Co-Op across the plaza. I never stopped here much, just because when I am doing my shopping I like to get everything in one place. When it is busy it gets really hard to move around on the lower floor as the cash register lines flow into the main aisles and the cash registers are by the one door exiting the place. Not well laid out.
