After touring several facilities in the Mt. Pleasant area we decided on Green Acres and we're so pleased with our decision. Mom's caregivers are attentive, responsive and kind to her. The medical staff has kept a watchful eye on her condition and has been wonderful in providing her excellent care as well as keeping our family fully informed on everything going on. While her condition causes her to not want to participate in many of the activities offered, the CNAs are wonderful at coaxing her out of her room....Her room is always nice and clean. I've read the other Yelp reviews and am in total disagreement with any that criticize this facility (these people must either be disgruntled prior employees or not understanding of the treatments needed for dementia).

I would not trust these scammers with a pet rock. They promised to give my loved one pain meds every 4 hours, but only gave it every 12 hrs ( only because I forced them to). They promised edible meals for a diabetic, but THEY LIED. They have no nutritionist, no diabetic meals, no snacks for diabetics....and their "workers" are unskilled laborers being trained on the job. The manager, Eileen, is HORRIBLE and disrespectful to the elderly residents and all other life forms. AVOID!! P.S. The popcorn in the fake "cafe" is made not even once a week. Its stale and disgusting. They re-heat it for the aroma...like air freshener. Most elderly cannot even eat popcorn, anyway. THE SO-CALLED "24 hr cafe" is LOCKED UP AT NIGHT. Their CUPCAKES ARE pretty but STALE and UNHEALTHY. CUPCAKES ARE EYE CANDY FOR THE RELATIVES...for $$$$.. ALSO, $5,000-$6200./ month should probably include two- ply toilet paper. And light bulbs. My first appointment was like every other new patient appointment. The staff was cordial and treated me with respect as they do with any new patient. After my visit, I was charged an additional amount that I had not been informed about. I called on a Monday and spoke to a staff member who assured me it would be resolved. Despite that, I was still charged. When I followed up, I spoke with someone else who was not only unhelpful but laughed while telling me it was my responsibility to fix the issue. This kind of treatment--especially when it involves people's health and finances--is unacceptable. I expected clear communication and respectful service, and unfortunately, I experienced neither.

He is a wonderful doctor and cares very much for his patients, which shows with how much time he spends with them. (He has a bell outside his office staff ring when he's been in for a while- if that says anything) I have encountered many of his office staff who have always been absolutely wonderful. Until recently have I felt things were going down hill with his staff. Now, he is a busy practice with a high patient load, I understand this completely as I work in a physicians office myself. BUT I have lost confidence and the feeling that I am really cared about recently with the way I am treated over the phone. They do not listen to what you say, nor do they much less sound like they care. Nothing was sent out when Dr W returned to the office after a long and unexpected leave. I had originally had an appointment with him in 8/2018-thinking once he returned I would be one of the patient who would get into see him as I have been having chest pain amongst other issues. I simply asked if they needed me to have my bloodwork done again since it was now 3 months old.. the young girl on the phone had completely ignored what I said and asked for a phone number (?).. I had then asked I'm not sure what that has to do with my question I just wanna know if I need to do my labs, no one has contacted me about my lab work either I've just been in some kind of "limbo" for months now... before anyone says (hey you had chest pain how about the ER?) I went to Urgent Care and they refused to do an EKG because I "am young and healthy". I'm still having this pain-therefore I wanna see my PCP who will actually listen to me. I did explain this which got me into a sooner appointment date which I am thankful for- but I wish it wasn't like pulling teeth and they would have just listened to me in the first place.
