If you are an international student looking forward to improve your English, this is the right place for you. They do offer English classes supported by the four principal skills: writing, reading, grammar and listening/speaking. I am telling from a personal experience, instructors are absolutely qualified, classes are really interactive and fun, and one of the biggest advantages, this college is really affordable (books included in most of programs) Huge shout out to Teacher Patrick, Ben and Wesley, who were not only fundamental but also fantastic instructors during my time as an student in MCC. Also, they organize events every month, so not everything is about classes, it is also about experiencing Chicago and everything that this city has to offer. Besides ESL classes, they also offer professional English classes, for people who are looking to improve their English in order to apply it into their professional careers, TOEFL classes and even Associated programs for the ones who want to keep building a career. I would definitely recommend this College because of its quality and affordability, once more, if you are an International Student looking forward to take ESL classes, from my personal experience I tell you, you will absolutely learn. Please be prepared to a long, yet, very entertaining review. If you do plan to apply to this sad establishment, please think twice and reach out to me should you have any questions and I will explain in brighter colors why you must not invest into this school where you experience will result in wasted money, time and nerves. When I tell you everything that possibly could go wrong went wrong in MCC, it is not an understatement. My experience was so awful that one could write a whole book about it. Here are some chapters and sneak previews to each of them: 1. Enrollment. I was enrolled by a student who confirmed my schedule to be Mon/Wed 9am to 2pm via emails (I still have those emails btw...). I combined classes with a corporate job, negotiated start time to be after 2pm, paid all administrative fees/tuition and came over a Friday before start of the semester to pass a placement test. My advisor, Tip, never showed up and another one just stated that my class time was 9am to 4pm. When I voiced my concern of different class schedule provided, the explanation given was, "well, Tip made a mistake and you should forgive her. We all make mistakes". HELLO? Are you serious? We are not talking about you giving me wrong flavor of an ice cream, we are talking about my future, my work that was planned around my school schedule and why I chose this school. Absolutely devastated I filed an official complaint with Ericka Litters, she listened sympathetically and said she would follow up internally and would let me know of the results. She never did. She also left the company in the next month. Needless to say, nothing was fixed and I had to attend the classes until 4pm, otherwise, I would compromise my attendance and thereby fail the course. Only 7 months in, I found out that Tip was actually a student when she "enrolled" me in MCC. A student, who has access to my personal information let along my social security number. 2. Inconsistency. During my second quarter in MCC, our instructors changed literally every class. Every Monday we found out that one instructor was running ALL classes then the next week it was another one. Personally, I would not mind it, however, said instructors did not obtain enough knowledge on the subject or were not prepared for a class and would rather repeat the same information over and over again until we were tired and disengaged. No new knowledge was obtained in the second semester due to material being identical to the first semester - conflict management styles, leadership, etc. 3. Where this came from? All tests/quizzes/homework were powered by Cengage and would evaluate us on material not covered in class. For example, instructors focused on leadership styles in class and us, students, would be asked about globalization in a quiz. When students inquired about possibility of instructors putting together a quiz that actually covers material learned in class, the idea was shut down with explanation of "eliminating teacher's error. Seriously? How about same teacher will actually provide material that is relatable to what my final test will grade me on. 4. Who brought you here? We had such a fine collection of instructors who should never teach anyone yet allowed as guests speakers in any educational establishment. To name a few, Fransic, who would speak very highly about himself for about 2/3 of the class time and used himself as an example of true leader (no-no, no Barack Obama or Mr. Martin Luther King) in our leadership class, but at the same time making sexist remarks towards female students and kicking a student out of the classroom to, "set an example for students to fear [him]". Jonathan, who used this class as a focus group for his failing business, assigning students to create a marketing strategy for his hair care product. When the exam time would come around, guess what, there was not a single question regarding hair product, but rather material that should've been taught to us. Ms. McCoy, who has absolutely no idea how to use Mindtap/Brightspace making the whole class wait for her while losing 30 minutes of midterm time. Don't get me wrong, there were two good instructors that I had in....two years attending this school, but they were smart enough to quit right after first semester teaching at MCC. 5. How much is it again or Business "Office". Helen from business office who have no idea of why she is charging certain amounts or why is she placing students on "final notices" despite 90% paid tuition. Another character, who gives you attitude (unfortunately, he feared to give me his name) when you question financial statements. 6. What's digital filing? Every single quarter I had an issue with transferring credits from previous school. Every. Single. Quarter. Digital file is not an option there and they had to manually check my transcript every semester. This establishment is complete trash.I attended this "school" for the MRI program. Initially, I thought that this school was a scam due to the lack of information there is about it. Upon deep research, I found out that the mri program was accredited. I also looked on YouTube and saw that someone I recognized attended this program and obtained a position in the field which put me at ease. Enrollment was fairly easy. It requires a $60 app fee and unfortunately you have to take their entrance exam. It doesn't matter if you have credits or a degree from previous schools, you still have to participate which was red flag number 1. A interview with the program director is also a requirement. The director for the MRI/Radiography program is very cold, apathetic, and rude. I guess that's her way of unintentionally steering you away which I should've taken the hint lol. I was asked the same question repeatedly because she was unorganized. It sounded like she was driving during my interview, she did not turn on her cam. After having to submit additional proof, I was sent an email of acceptance. Classes were still virtual at the time. There is one particular instructor who is EXTREMELY pretentious, condescending, and arrogant that was pretty much instructing most of the core courses of the program. That person alone made most of the cohort drop the program including myself. There seems to be not a lot of qualified people to teach mri so this particular instructor has a God complex and the program director has enabled him by not taking appropriate action regarding student concerns with this person. The school itself is NOT student friendly. For one, you are not recognized by your name but by the student number they give you. There are minimal resources available. They claim to have free textbooks but those books are digital and only 3 students at a time can download the book which makes it unavailable for the other 20 students for about a week. The program itself cost wbout $30,000. There are no grants available. The only financial aid option you have is to take out loans. They have little scholarships but they are b.s and not really promoted. Externship is lol. It's ran by a lazy unresponsive slob that has came up with some type of hungar games situation just to participate in Externship. This includes an online course that you have to participate in, in addition to the rigorous course load of the actual program. Slides shows include statements such as "it's a privilege to participate in Externship", even though you are automatically charged about $8000 for it. You cannot graduate until you finish the 800hrs. Oh, you may not be placed in a timely matter which makes you unable to graduate with your class. There is no way to communicate with this department. They don't respond to emails from students but will respond amongst themselves which is unacceptable. Overall, I would not recommend to school to anyone. There is much more to get into but this is my condensed version. Chicago is a huge city with many qualified schools that will actually help you succeed. Take your time and do the research on the school and don't make any hasty decisions due to the pressure of time. read more

Had applied to this school. Paid all the fees for application, transcripts, etc. Took the entrance exams and passed. Received my classes and sent them my fafsa. I did an interview, the person that interviewed me was not professional. When trying to answer questions, i was cut off constantly and put down. Then right when everything was set and done for me to start the course, they give me a call that they do not want me as a student. My time was wasted, as well as money. They thought that I was not a good fit for the program because it is "too stressful". Instead of giving me a chance, when i expressed my interest and drive for the school i was shut down. I was an MRI student here and let me tell you this school is a joke, at least for MRI. You can only get certified with ARMRIT (can only work at clinics... if you're lucky). I graduated about 2-3 years ago and I can't even get a call back from anywhere I applied to. The only interview that I received was because staff sent my resume directly. I was actively looking for jobs for about 2+ years. The anatomy classes are half assed. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because of the Ms Dorothea who was the best teacher anyone could ask for. She made sure we knew everything there was to know about MRI. Other than that don't come here for MRI, they are just taking your money away. read more

They conveyed to both my granddaughter and me that she was receiving FAFSA federal GRANT money, for which she had applied, when in fact they were setting her up for a LOAN! They get one star only because zero isn't an option! My daughter attends the Naperville campus. Staff turnover is ridiculous - several instructors for one class during the same term... administrative errors, one after the other - no one knows what is going on... my daughter has repeatedly been marked absent even though she signs in and out of classes every time... she's been jerked around on financial aid, and just today she found out she's owes several thousand dollars because of mistakes made in processing paperwork... the university (and I use the term very loosely!) repeatedly loses paperwork and enters information incorrectly. Do yourself a favor and choose another school! read more
