Lawn Masters is annoying, point blank…read more The work they do may be good, but their communication is constant and annoying. We just bought a house, and the old owners used them. He paid for weed control through the rest of the year, so we figured we'd be good. Right? Nope. Constant calls, texts, emails, etc. asking what other services we'd like to add to our plan. The answer: NONE. We already have a service paid for, so why keep bothering us online? It just makes us want to use a different company!!

They originally quoted me $2,300 for the service and the final invoice was $3,500. Several services were hourly but not accounted for in original quote and this was not explained. Definitely had sticker shock when I received the invoice. All in all, while their landscapers did a good job, their business practices could be better.

TL: DR STL Lawnsmith isn't my first choice but they were okay in a pinch…read more My regular lawn care person had an emergency and I needed a last minute replacement before I headed out of town. They fit me in on the same day and the rate for my city duplex was very budget friendly. On the negative side, the actual service is lacking. Grass clippings weren't disposed of, edging is lackluster, and because the lawn was mowed in an irregular pattern instead of lines back and forth, it's pretty patchy. Pros: - low cost - schedule seems flexible Cons: - messy work - lawn looks unfinished Conclusion If I was in a real pinch and just needed something to keep the grass from getting out of control, I'd call STL Lawnsmith. If there are other options available even at a higher price, I'm taking it.

I told them once, and again yesterday, that their employees were using a weed whacker to cut our lawn. Now, our yard is a small city-sized yard but not small enough to necessitate using a weed whacker. In fact before we starting using them we always used a lawn mower. Our issue was that when they use a weed whacker it doesn't cut the lawn fully and within a few days it was back to the length it was when they "cut it" with the weed whacker. They also, consistently moved bins around to get in our back gate and never put them back. Today I received a response to my last complaint and the response was , "...moving forward please find a new lawn service." Again, we are long-time customers and paid timely and in full and this is the way they correct this issue. Not by correcting their problem and make long-time customers happy but to basically drop them. This is a very, very poor way to handle a business. We are very dissatisfied.

We contacted them by email and text to ask someone to stop by and take a look as well as to find out what kind of herbicide they applied to our lawn. So far no one showed up. One factor could be they applied the herbicide a couple of days after our lawn got cut. And our lawn was cut short than 3 inches. It was extremely heat in August too. The tragic browning of our lawn could have been avoided should the crew have professional common sense regarding lawn care and they should have advised us to postpone the treatment.
