When I became older he trained me in his back yard every weekend during the summer in the mid 80's. . His mentorship was impeccable, he did not just teach the use of hands and feet, you promoted being disciplined and using the mind. Then he opened his school on Nebraska Street, I was one of the original students. I stayed there until I departed for Marine Corps Boot Camp 1 Feb 1988. Years later after returning from a combat tour in Iraq, I went to visit Master Dorsey and his demeanor remain as it was when I was a kid, he carried himself like a calm warrior. He is still passing on the knowledge after all of these years. If I was currently living in Marion, my children would be his students. I feel honored to say that I once trained under Master William Dorsey.

Park institute's certificates are recognized as far as the east coast. Lot of graduates from this place have started their own schools all over the Midwest. I have two kids, ages 7yrs and 9yrs…read moreattending the Carmel location and although our experience here is only a few months, I have see very impressive instruction from not only Master Yoo (he instructs at every class my kids are in) but also the very dedicated, professional, and skilled black belt instructors. There are typically 5 instructors for a class of 15 students so the student/teacher ratio is outstanding. Aside from defensive and combative techniques taught, my kids are grasping the concepts of eye focus, brain focus, and body focus and are expected to pain attention and follow instructions, which has always been an uphill battle for me. That said, it IS costly (but well worth it for us) and the time commitment is not necessarily conducive for most. But still, if it is a commitment that works for your family, I would highly recommend Master Yoo's.
