My grandson only attended 1 free complimentary class, he has autism and was fine by himself at the class. He isn't able to do large classes due to the loudness and yelling. He never attended 1 regular class and now they are trying to take $400.00 from my account after I had many conversations with them and they agreed that he is unable to attend. My daughter has been coming here now for almost six years. She fell in love with Tae Kwon Do when Master Yoo and his staff visited her elementary school in 2018 in my daughter's first grade year just after we moved here from St. Louis. It gave her something to focus on while acclimating to her new world. Fast forward to now and she has her black belt, is on the Leadership and Performance Teams, and still loves and looks forward to practice and other activities through Master Yoo's. She has been able to march in 4th of July parades in Fishers and Carmel and has volunteered at various events promoting Master Yoo's. Our five year old son has been attending Master Yoo's for just over a month now and he really really loves it. It's been great. We just moved to Indiana from out of state and with no real family connections here we wanted to get him involved in activities...and we've found a great little family with Master Yoo's Tae Kwon Do. I was a little skeptical about signing up for a year, as opposed to going month the month, but I also liked the commitment aspect of it. You really need to give it a shot. The instructors are great. They're kind, supportive, encouraging and they like to have fun. I think they really mix things up and keep the kids learning and their belt tip system is a really great way to help keeps kids engaged by having little wins throughout their own individual belt journey. My son is focused, is learning real discipline and respect and definitely getting stronger physically. I'm looking forward to him turning six so that we can join the studio and study along w/ him as a family because now I want to learn what he's doing. I'd like to add also that their Covid protocols are great. Super nice to see them taking things seriously. I had called and spoke to another martial arts studio while we were researching and their response was something like, "If you're concerned about Covid, then maybe this isn't the place for you." I was really pleased to see the efforts that Master Yoo's makes to help everyone feel safe. Temp checks and santizing for everyone who walks in the door. Kids all spaced apart. Everyone masked up. The 5 year old has been going to this school for about a year now. I love the way the instructors work with the kids - always a smile. I see their kindness towards those kids every week. Classes can be large or small, depending on the day you go and how many others show up that day. I rarely see kids sit for more than a minute at any given class, and the energy is super! (And for a high energy kid, wearing them out is a great thing!) I've really seen a change in my kids ability to focus in the last year - part of that is growing up, but a lot I put down to their teaching. They have a number of instructors per class, so there are rarely more than 5-8 kids per instructor, despite the size of the class. Yes, going for a black belt is a commitment. It's a commitment of time, money, focus and body. It's not for everyone. But they do offer shorter year-long trials, and I've found them to be flexible with schedules and timing. Everyone from the office crew to the regular instructors has been incredibly respectful, and though it is a commitment, I've never felt forced into anything here. It's awesome that they offer short trials of their program - I decided to give it a try after almost a year of watching my kid, and after 5 weeks of squats and kicking and blocking (which I suck at,) I decided to go forward with the whole program. Not so I can kick butts, but for my own health. For the adults, the instructors will still smile at you while asking you to do yet another round of squats or kicks or whatever - and they'll do it with you. And better. I despise traditional exercise programs - all that aerobic bouncing crap leaves me bored. I haven't been bored yet, and I can see opportunities to teach not just my body, but my learning abilities a new trick or five. Two thumbs up. read more

DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT!!!!!! My son broke his clavicle and could not continue classes, had a doctors note and they billed us for the remaining YEAR+! We asked them to transfer the account we paid for in full to our younger son,and all they wanted to offer us was 5 months reimbursement BUT we would have to sign ANOTHER CONTRACT!! I have known Master Yoo for a number of years. I know he is a driven a committed instructor.

If possible I would give a negative star. Just beware. Was forced into a contract. The classes were so HUGE that my child would spend most of his time on the floor just watching and he came to hate it. They would not let me break the contract. So my options was to force my child to go and pay. Or let my child go elsewhere and still pay. So I had to continue to pay them. Before we left we also noticed they were always coming up with ways to try and sell us something or pay to do something else. They were always finding ways to Nickel and Dime. Do not come to this martial arts at all. Be careful about sign a contract with them. This place is not about teaching but all they care is MONEY! When your kid first enrolls things go very nice like they care for about 6 months and then starting to dramatically change. Your kid would not learn anything he/she likes rather than being there for watching other kids on the floor. Master Yoo who is suppose to be there to teach your kid rarely show up. I bet you he only shows up when the kids do belt testing. When you have concern or unexpected change situation, master Yoo will show you his unprofessional talking, do not care whatsoever about your kid interests or expectation. My daughter just received her black belt (1st dan) and it was overall a good experience. Yes it helped her gain confidence and get her energy out. Yes the Masters are WONDERFUL, positive, and knowledgable. However, it is quite expensive-monthly fee (you must sign a year contract) plus 50 dollars each time you test for the next belt level, then you must pay another large sum for the black belt program. The classes are huge in Noblesville. I am taking my son to a smaller school. If your child doesn't mind a lot going on, this is a fantastic place-honestly they really do run a great school. read more

My husband, children, and I are students at Master Yoo's. We absolutely love the entire staff. The Masters are incredibly talented. Master Yoo has amazing credentials. Master Yoo and his family are frequently in attendance many days of the week. I love that the organization does fundraisers for Peyton Manning Children's Hospital where 100% of the profits go to the Hospital. The have regular events, like tournaments and board breaking, that are a lot of fun and are great for fostering a sense of comradery amongst students and families. We had the most fun after the year-end tournament, when everyone was invited back to the dojang for a big dinner and desserts. Everyone ate together and when we were finished, they put on music and invited everyone to stay, hang out, dance, and have fun. It was great to see so many kids, adult students, and families of all ages having fun in a great way on a weekend night. I'm very happy to be a part of this awesome community of people. read more

My son and I have been training at this school for over 4 years now. I started here because my cousin told me about this place, and he actually drives a long way to come! It is that good of a school. I have trained at other martial art places when in college, and the quality of instruction that Master Yoo and his staff provide is so much better. They work with adults just as well as they teach the kids! No class is ever the same thing. Since Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art, I am impressed by all of the well trained Korean Masters who have come to this school to do their very best teaching us what they know so well! My child has been attending Master Yoo's since February. I held off on rating this business until she was well established and I felt I had given then school enough time to provide a fair evaluation. My child is more focused and confident (and stronger!) since she started this program. She attends 4 and sometimes 5 classes per week and never complains. I attend most of my child's classes and observe the masters interactions with students. They are always so good with the students and the students are eager to do well. This business is also involved with the community and raises money for charity. Special needs and autism kids stay away because they will give up on you. Signed my son up at the fishers freedom festival where he got the uniform and a private 1 hour lesson. I told them at that time that he had autism and was non verbal. They recommended a private lesson. Took my son to his lesson and 15 minutes later the guy said he was done and left. My son screamed when he left the room as he was enjoying it. I was enjoying watching him have fun as I fully planned to sign him up for more lessons. He wasn't doing things perfect, but i'm sure kids without special needs don't do things perfect at first either. We were then told they had nothing for him and he wasn't there yet for them to work with. My son doesn't understand, but he looked sad leaving. They could've told us at the freedom festival when they met him there that they don't work with special needs kids when they took my money. It's not even about the money. Don't give up on kids because they are more of a challenge. read more
