She said a convertible takes all day, so we must reschedule. Today we drove there and the same woman told my wife they couldn't work on her car because she was 10 minutes late. The receptionist didn't ask if we could leave her car overnight. She told us if I wasn't happy with them, she knows a guy who's really good. I get the feeling the technicians there aren't comfortable with working on a convertible or they're not properly trained to handle the task. To save yourself some grief, find another shop.

The following week I hear nothing and have been trying to reach them finally a week after the phone call I stop in and they haven't even started, said they were busy and had to prioritize more urgent work, I countered that they should have communicated. I do not recommend them for any work at all. I was able to work with a COMPETITOR and they had the work done to perfection in less than 3 hours.

Called Dave's Glass Co. in Sioux City and he was very friendly and helped us out that same day after hearing our dilemma. I will only go to Dave's Glass Co. for any windshield problems. I immediately searched for a Safelite location in Souix Falls and found this one. Hooray! We drove to the location and a guy there said he could get it taken care of in about 30 minutes. Wow! That's service. The nice lady behind the desk submitted something to our insurance company and there was no charge. Free of charge is awesome! Everyone was super nice and we were back on our way within about 45 minutes.

Guided by Robert Pirsig and the book, Zen & The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, I was taken back by how the work shop looked and felt; poor layout, disorganized tools, tiny work areas, etc. And the shop itself doesn't have parking and an uncomfortable waiting area. And when I arrived with my van at my appointment time - I was told the garage entrance was too low and I would need to park in the parking lot next door. Assuming this is a franchise location - I would hope that Safelite Corporate would mandate a new garage location/set-up better suited to a reasonable level of customer service.
