So, I spent 2 days of my life at a local Kansas City Kia dealer getting smoke blown up my ass. I was allowed to take a car home overnight, but it wasn't the color I wanted. We told them exactly what we wanted, how much we had to put down, and what payments we could afford. We were clear that we were ready to do business. They pulled the usual tricks to keep us in the dealership and made me jump through a zillion fiery hoops to try to get through the approval process. The salesperson seemed to be ok, it was the department managers who started playing the dreaded numbers game that every parasite in a car dealership does. They wanted to double the down payment and $150 a month more than what we said we could afford. You can't tell me it took them 2 days to piece all of this together. The reason you can't tell me this is because another bartender friend of mine connected me with Dustin in the finance department of Midwest Kia. I bought this car via text messaging from someone 3 hours away from where I live. He found the color car and options I wanted and had me approved with the down payment I could afford and the payments we wanted...WITHIN 30 MINUTES. Yes, that's what I said...WITHIN 30 MINUTES! We were also given $1600 more on our trade-in. To really put salt in the wound, the car I wanted was 10 miles away in Olathe. The other dealer I was dealing with obviously didn't even bother to look for the car I wanted, and was dead set on talking us into a white car that we didnt' want. Once we got the financing approval, Dustin handed us off to a salesperson named Patrick. Both of these gentleman were professional, courteous, fast, AND HONEST. No hot dog fast talk, and no hook, line, and sinker shenanigans. Almost every aspect of this sale was done via texting. This was the most wonderful car buying experience I have ever had. What sealed the deal was their offer to deliver the car to my work and pick up my trade. I was to fill out all the paperwork with the driver. He showed up on time and we were done with all the paperwork and car exchange within 30 minutes. I am now the proud new owner of a 2014 Kale Green Kia Soul which had 40 miles on it when it was delivered. The redesign of the exterior and interior of this car are awesome. We are very happy new Kia owners. The 10 year 100,000 mile and 5 year 60,000 bumper to bumper warranty are the best in the business. This car rides quietly and smoothly. We expected a bumpy ride and to feel like we were canned up in a cheap SUV. This was not the case at all. We were pleasantly surprised at how far Kia has come. I recommend Kia cars and this dealership to anyone in the market for a vehicle. You get a lot of car for the money. read more

Dropped my car off for a recall. Picked it up a week later. Three days after that, check engine light came on, code was misfire for cylinder 2. Took it in June 11th, explained that I switched coil packs 2 and 4 and the misfire stopped, but check engine light was still on. I waited without an update until July 6th before I went to get my car. Service writer said he was going to reach out. Said the tech test drove it several times and could not duplicate the problem. I drove it home, no problems. Next day the misfire returned. I found that I had mis-identified the cylinder. When I looked at the correct coil pack, I saw the problem immediately- see picture. One of the wires in coil pack 2 was partially pulled out. I pushed it back in and the problem was gone. Here's the worst part: I have a dash cam. It showed my car sat from the 11th to the 19th before the tech pulled it into his bay. He spent 5 minutes with his diagnostic tool inside the car, then popped the hood. He spent 4 minutes looking around the engine with a flashlight, occasionally wiggling things. Then he got back into the car for a few minutes, then did a 15 minute test drive. He parked the car and it did not move again until I picked it up 17 days later. He missed the loose wire(I would assume the tech knew which cylinder was #2), only drove it once, then they didn't contact me for 17 days. I wouldn't trust them to change my wiper blades. read more

This is the worst experience I have ever had to deal with. I took my car in December to get looked at and I did not receive a call back until May after several calls to the service department. Then, they said I needed a new transmission, which did not get done until July. My warranty covered this, so I just paid the deductible. When I met with them in December, May and July, I advised that the car was jerking and dying out. After I picked it up when it was supposedly "fixed," the car was still jerking and dying out only it was worse because now it was shaking on the highway. I was FINALLY able to get an appointment today and now they tell me that my warranty is expired because of my mileage, which is crazy because I never knew about the mileage expiration. However, it shouldn't have even mattered if Kia would have fixed it back in December when I first brought it in and knew what they were doing. And also, I have to pay a diagnostic fee for $169.95 for a something that has been going on and they knew about. I am so frustrated right now and I hope that this review saves people some heartache. Ok cool, no problem. 2.5hrs later I have to call to see what's going on, am told "30-40 more mins" no update/reason. 1hr after that (3.5 hours in) am told "sorry we usually don't have a recall part (tf?) but we do have it and it should be 10more mins tops." This place deserves negative stars. My sister-in-law bought a Hyundai Tucson from this store around 2020. Unfortunately, she went in by herself and they completely took advantage of her. There were four men in the room with her and they were intimidating and pressuring her. The car had been wrecked multiple times (we found this out from the salesman that she bought her latest vehicle from) and they told her it had only been in a fender bender once and this was after she had initialed the paperwork. After they told her this, she told them she wanted to leave and didn't want to purchase the vehicle any longer and they told her that she had already initialed the paperwork so she was locked in. We also learned from the salesman who sold her her new vehicle that you aren't locked into anything when you purchase a vehicle until you drive it off the lot. After she purchased the Tucson, she was told they'd give her a second key fob and they ended up giving her just a regular key instead. She had to fight them to get a legit key fob made. The Tucson has been in and out of the repair shop multiple times since 2020, but she's finally shaken loose from it. I wouldn't recommend anyone go to this dealership. Totally unacceptable treatment. Not very satisfied with Midwest Kia in Wichita... I bought a car on Feb 27th for my Daughter and everything was going fine (so I thought)until we finally sat down with the Finance Manager(Gate Keeper). This was a joke!!! So, before we sat down with the Gate Keeper (Finance Manager), we of course meet with the salesman not the one who I had an appointment with(Timm) he never showed up, but Jovi help us. He was okay not the best, but he was okay, he spent a lot of time going back and forth between us and the Gate Keeper. I explained to Jovi that I needed to be at a certain price per month and I did not ask for anything extra no floor mats nothing, all I was needing is to be at the price I told him. We go through all the paper work with Jovi and I was trying to show my daughter how the process works and Jovi was able to get past me that the car only had one key, it wasn't until we finally signed all the paper work and he handed me the key not key's but key and I asked where is the other one and he said it only had one and he would try to get the other one from the prior owner which he did not. Now back to the Gate Keeper, we sat down in his office (my daughter and I) and I was declining everything he had to offer(you know the extra stuff they try to get you to buy) and you could see his attitude change and when we got to the GAP insurance and I declined it he said "It is Kansas Law that I need to get another person to verify that you don't want it". He went and got another Gate Keeper and he tried to sell us the GAP insurance and I once again declined and he left the room and the Gate Keeper we started with came back into the room and once again tried to sell us the GAP insurance and he pointed to the camera in the corner of his office and said "once again it is Kansas law to have a second person verify we don't want the GAP insurance" and when I declined again he got upset. Now back to Jovi the salesman, remember I told him we needed to be at a certain price per month well that did not happen. I am not sure how the price changed from Jovi and when we sat down with the Gate Keeper it went up and now, I am paying more than what I wanted to. Yes, we could have walked away when the price was more than what we wanted but we live hours away from the dealership and it was getting late in the day, and we were crunched for time on getting a car. He also said he would call the prior owner by COB Friday March 7th and try to get the second key from him, and I have not heard from him I left messages for him to call me. I also asked him in prior conversations if he can't get me the other key from the prior owner would they cover the cost of the key and I was told NO, Upper Management will not cover the cost. Remember I did not ask for anything when we bought the car, and I would think they would cover the cost but nope not a chance. Is the Upper Management that worried about achieving their numbers not just on selling cars but the financial piece? Does the Owner even know how the Gate Keeper is treating their customers when they decline to buy the extras. Does replacing a key break the bank? WELL DONE Midwest KIA and great job Gate Keeper, I hope it was worth losing a customer because I will never go back to your dealership again. read more

The worst place. I leased a 2023 Kia Sorrento and I am already having engine failure. My car actually shut down in the middle of a major street with no warning what so ever, like it totally turned off and would not restart. I was told by kia it would take SIX WEEKS to get me in. I called the manager who was supposed to call me back and heard nothing.. my husband called the service manager who told us to have it towed in so we did. The next day he said it was fixed, so we went and picked it up. An hour later it happened again. I now feel so unsafe driving this car because I never know when its going to decide to shut down, and the worst part is I am due with my second baby any time. Please do not buy a Kia. read more

If this representative of KIA - we are done. Leased (then purchased) a 2022 SOUL. Decent experience for the Lease sale, but at time of renewal/turn in they WAY underbid the value. We ended up buying from KIA corporate at lease end but we were offered almost $3k more for straight out purchase from another local dealership than what Midwest would give in trade for another car. Their response - sell to Carmax and come back and buy something from us. We have already had to replace the A/C condenser (at our cost) and now a check engine light that cannot be diagnosed for another 6-weeks due to that being their first available appointment. 25k miles on this car and I dread ever having to ask let alone wait for a time to be able to return for their "help". What good is a warranty if no one can utilize it. I agree with other posters here - our next purchase will go to a dealership that appreciates its customers as much after the sale as before. read more

I thought I got a great deal on a new 2023 K5 GT-Line but drove away with a lemon. I thought at first the clock just needed to be set and I would do it when I got home. Tried for a while to figure it out and then called. So the clock, navigation or remote start functions don't work. Sales guy said bring it in, service looked at it and said it needed new software. Left it for a day for new software and when I picked it up they said it was actually a faulty cell antenna. No estimated delivery in the part. Waited a month with me periodically checking in and finally the antenna arrives. Leave it for a day and now they say the entire radio display console needs to be replaced with now estimated delivery date. THIS STUFF WAS ALL NO FUNCTIONAL WHEN I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT!!!! Shame on me for not checking everything before leaving the lot. How did it pass the "Inspection"???? If I was the dealership GM I would be embarrassed by this happening on my lot. But maybe this is just acceptable for Kia. read more

I would love to tell a story on how terrible the car buying experience was, but the awful service between 3 separate people (Max, Joshua, and Alyssa) prevented my family and I from even looking at a vehicle. My wife called multiple times to verify that a car was on the lot and was told that it was. An appointment was scheduled and we showed up... the vehicle was not on the lot. We were ready to buy, but an unprofessional staff blocked us from that chance. The unfortunate piece of this is that dealership leadership will not care or change their ways. Ordered a 2022 Kia Telluride, it only took 2 months for it to arrive. It even came in a week earlier than expected. Max was great to work with. He kept us updated every step of the way! From the get-go, Max was easy to talk to and made our car buying experience quick and easy! When Max handed me over to the Finance Manager, Timm, I was expecting a hard push to buy the extended warranties, etc. But no, he explained very clearly how the current warranty worked then explained what I could get in addition to it. Not sure what to say about a business that so indifferently wastes six hours of a prospective customer's time. My wife, interested in a used car here after talking with a salesman several times, scheduled an appointment for 1:30 today to buy the car. Because we were traveling three hours from Kansas City, I made her call twice this morning before we left to ensure the car would be there when we arrived, and was told there would be no problem (Just to make sure, she also texted the sales rep and his manager to let them know we were on the way). When i brought my car in nobody was in service and nobody greeted me, they were sitting in the office just hanging out. When i brought my car in the first time they did not vacuum or wash my car and then when i brought it back the second time they did a horrible job on cleaning it. If you're thinking about getting a vehicle from Midwest Kia DONT FUCKING DO IT! I have been dealing with them for a year I bought my vehicle in September 2022 and I have experienced TONS of bullshit with them. Here's just a couple of my experiences. A week before my first oil change/tire rotation the front passenger side tire was low so I aired it up and was good to go. Fast forward to a couple days after my oil change/tire rotation and my front passenger side tire is low again so I call them speak to the service department and start questioning if my tires had really been rotated and I tell them the story and how it's strange that the same tire goes low again. After a bunch of back and forth phone calls the manager finally calls me back and informs me that he went back and reviewed the cameras they have in the service area and sure enough my tires were NOT rotated!! Who knows how many other people they have scammed and charged for services they didn't do. I recently got in my vehicle started it and the air bag malfunction light came on then it would flash the message check tire pressure monitoring system and another light came on but I wasn't sure what it meant so I immediately call and was told to bring my vehicle right over so I did. I get there tell them what I'm there for and that I was told to come right over. They asked who I spoke to I couldn't remember the females name then they proceed to tell me there's nothing they could do because the technicians leave at five and it's already after five so I start getting pissed the manager comes over I tell him what's going on and he had the nerve to ask to see my call list and what time I called I looked at him and I said you are seriously questioning me like I'm lying. He then stated that his staff knows technicians leave at five so I pulled up my call list and showed him the time I called and how long I was on the phone he then asked to see the phone number I called so I show him he tells me to give him a few minutes while he figures things out. After about ten minutes he returns and informs me the lady that took my call had already left at five I smarted off with how convenient she knew exactly what she was doing. Luckily there were two other females in the back that confirmed to the manager that someone had called around the time I did and they heard her tell the person on the phone to come on in. The staff are shady! Once again I was treated as if I was in the wrong when in reality it was them! Trust me DON'T BUY FROM MIDWEST KIA!! They will fuck you over!! read more

They had the used car we were looking for.....but it took HOURS to get the paperwork done! We had 3 different "managers" come over to check the same information over and over - and then after two hours of waiting - we finally get into the finance manager to complete the loan process. He was very nice until we declined all the "extras" they try to sell you. While waiting all this time they were supposed to detail the car. They rinsed the outside of it - but didn't even touch the interior. Still had spots all over the doors, dust all over the dash board, not even vacuumed. By the time we got the car we were so tired. There was no way we were going to wait even longer to get the car cleaned. And to top off our experience - NO ONE SAID THANK YOU FOR YOUR PURCHASE!! So far great car - lousy service. read more

You do not have to be a mechanic to put two and two together that the vehicle had multiple breakdowns because of this.. When confronted they wouldn't do anything about it. Horrible experience this morning. A manager named Steve actually asked me if I was smart enough to make my own decisions when I wanted to involve a friend in the negotiations via telephone. The answer is yes, I am absolutely smart enough to recognize age and gender discrimination when I experience it although I must say this has NEVER happened to me before. I am also smart enough to advise women to stay away from this place because you won't be respected. After enduring Steve's insults, I was in the last phase of purchasing the car when the financial guy informed me the salesman gave me incorrect information and ad a result of that, I would be required to pay $500 for something the salesman told me was included in the purchase price. That was the last straw. I walked out without purchasing a car will never bother them with my business again. I found 2 vehicles on the website and was prompted to get pre-approved (which I did). I get a call from a representative first thing this Christmas Eve morning regarding my inquiry, but was told the 2 vehicles advertised for sale are not actually available. I check the website again to make sure I'm not losing my mind. One vehicle has been removed from the site while the other remains (even still). Yet, I was advised the vehicle isn't available. Talk about bait and switch. It is unethical to advertise something for sale if it's not. Now this dealership has my personal information and I allowed my credit to take a hard inquiry which I never would've done if it weren't for Midwest Kia's false advertising. Horrendous place! My whole family (Mom, Dad, & just recently my sister & I) have had TERRIBLE experiences there. NEVER go to this dealership you're dealing with morons and leaches just trying to scam you out of money. STORYTIME: So my sisters goes in Thursday afternoon and talks to a sales man Cannon and test drives a car and she said she'll take it and come by Friday morning with my mother to drop off the check. All the paperwork with the bank was all done and was ready to go. Then they proceed to text my mom and say someone's looking at the car and then tells her that the car sold. Absolutely ridiculous. Then the manager calls my mom to tell her that the sales man should have never showed my sister that car because it was supposedly "SOLD" already. Mind you the same sales man texted my mom saying that someone was looking at the car and that someone else bought it. Absolutely awful, pathetic even. The sales people I dealt with were Carla and Marcus. I was disrespected and made fun of on multiple occasions - not a good way to convince someone to buy a car from you. As if that wasn't enough, they are complete con artists and were fudging numbers everywhere. Couldn't get a straight answer out of them. The whole sales staff was very rude and absurdly pushy. Carla even ran out of the conversation halfway through looking at the numbers because a "more important" customer showed up. Congrats Carla, you just lost a sale from me. While on a test drive I noticed a few things that weren't alright on a vehicle, but Carla assured me that the vehicle had gone through an "inspection" and was ok... right. Things just weren't adding up. Normally I could care less to write a review on a place, but this was an all around horrible experience so it felt needed. 10/10 would NOT recommend. Avoid this dealer at all costs. There will always be more cars available - and knowing them, at a much better and more friendly price. read more

Had to take my car back in a couple days after buying it because the tires were messed up. Then they said they filled up the tank and the fluids, but they lied. When I got home the brake fluid was almost completely out. Then I went in for an oil change and they broke off my door handle and didnt even have the balls to say anything. They just gave me my keys back and told me to have a nice day. They did try to superglue it back together, it didnt work though. read more
