I arrived 20 minutes before 8am, when doctors start seeing people. The woman at the check in desk (Debra) was very kind and helpful. She took care of everything, told me I was second & directed me where to go. No one was called in until 8:10am. The woman they called in first came after me and the other woman. Then, 3 more people went in (1 being the woman ahead of me & 2 individuals that arrived afterwards). I checked in with the front desk to see why I hadn't been called. Debra inquired. They called me next. The male nurse took my vitals and was friendly. After he left though, I wanted in the room to see a doctor for another 15 minutes. Checked with the desk; they said someone would be in soon and that there was someone with an emergency they had to attend to first. Doctor saw me for 5 maybe 10 mins max. She was nice. I just really hate how long the entire process took and was charge $50 for all that waiting and such short time seeing the provider. Considering I arrived early and was the second in line, this shouldn't taken as long as it did. I get that medical offices are understaffed; however, the fact that people were called in before me who arrived afterwards, that's unfair. Walk ins should be seen according to the order in which they arrived. I'd give this a one star review if it wasn't for the friendliness of the staff.

My daughter was so ill that she could hardly stand on her own. We were seen right away, and Lisa, the nurse, conducted the intake procedure of collecting vitals & health history. She was thorough & warm and kind to my daughter, who had a 103 temperature. Lisa brought my daughter ice chips & a cool pack. Dr. Colt saw my daughter next & his exam was thorough and his medical advice was sound. We agreed to have a rapid blood test to check for mono along with a strep test, both administered by Lisa, came back Negative, but we were not entirely convinced, so we agreed to a CBC lab (blood test) which Lisa delicately administered. Dr. Colt completed my daughte's exam and thoroughly answered any questions. He is a charming, brilliant, young and talented doctor who is genuinely invested in caring for his patients! Nurse Lisa is kind, compassionate and skilled in multifaceted medical care! I have not seen Professional Medical care like this in decades! Huge props & gratitude for an outstanding urgent care experience!

We waited over an hour in the waiting room before he was finally taken in, and then another two hours in the exam room before seeing the doctor. During this time, my son was still in pain, and when I asked about when the doctor would come, the front desk staff simply told me they had "urgent patients" to see, as if my son's chest pain wasn't urgent enough. The doctor himself was professional, knowledgeable, and explained what testing was needed, but the front desk was completely unprofessional. They couldn't answer basic questions, including whether my insurance would cover the monitor, and instead told me to "call my insurance" at 8:40 pm. When I explained that I needed to get home because my little one was with a babysitter, the staff member told me, "we all have to go home" -- a very unhelpful and inappropriate response. In the end, we spent nearly 4 hours there (from 5 pm to almost 9 pm), and my son never even received treatment for his pain. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The doctor may be good, but the way the front desk manages this place makes it one of the worst places to go when you're sick and need urgent care.

I'm one of the lucky ones. I have very good health insurance that allows me to get the best health…read morecare when ever I need it. But today- due to some flu shot bureaucracy- I found myself at the Take Care Clinic, located inside select Walgreens, trying to get a flu shot as my regular flu shot provider came up empty. This place was amazing! Staffed with only two people- a nurse practitioner (Lauren) and her assistant (Irma), they moved through a large number of people quickly and efficiently. We were told that they only had 12 flu shots left and that there were people on the list before us and that we should take a seat to see if someone didn't show up. So we took a chair and waited. We didn't have to wait long before Lauren called us into the room and got us our shots. Hooray! It didn't have to be that way. She could have just told us to come back another day. But she didn't which was much appreciated as two of the colleagues that I was with had illnesses that required them to get the shots. The Take Care Clinic handles a wide variety of health needs from physicals, to vaccines, to writing prescriptions to treating all kinds of everyday illnesses. They are open 7 days a week and take most forms of insurance or you can pay directly for the service if you don't have insurance. I can't speak for all of them- but this clinic was clean, efficient and willing to go out of their way to service their patients even at the end of what looked to be a long day for the both of them (looked like flu shot syndrome to me!). I certainly will remember Take Care Clinics the next time I am asked where to go for a everyday health care needs.

Finally, a good experience with a Take Care Clinic! My fiance had been bugging me (in the most…read morecaring way possible, of course) to get a flu shot. I didn't really want to, especially since I didn't get sick last year, but I was a victim of Swine '09 (never forget), and I do seem to get random illnesses, so I gave in. I also got to kill two birds with one stone in this trip since I needed a tetanus shot because my genius self knelt on an old nail and got a slightly deep cut. Flashbacks to the "Arthur's Knee" episode of Arthur were putting the scare in me, so I figured I'd be safe and get that shot as well. I walked into Walgreens around 5pm, right after work. I was expecting a long wait due to flu season and the time of day, and because I didn't have an appointment (I was told it's not needed for a shot). I had checked the wait time online prior to my arrival, but I called BS on it for the reasons listed above. It was right, though. When I got there, there was only one guy ahead of me. Sweet! I checked into the kiosk and entered my info. I checked the vaccination boxes for flu shot and tetanus. A guy came out and helped the customer in front of me, and then he was seen. Then he came over to me, asked for my insurance and ID, and gave me the flu shot paperwork to fill out (1 page). I made sure to tell him I was also there for tetanus and he said that's fine and told me it would be about 20 minutes until I would be seen. Pretty standard. No big. The waiting area and overall health part of this Walgreens is super nice. Totally remodeled, not that I know what it looked like before, but it was pretty damn pristine. They had a nice TV monitor in the clinic showing the order of people being seen for the clinic, and those waiting for prescriptions. They also had a nice, comfy seating area. Not just some crappy chairs but a nice long cushiony seat. Could use some magazines though, but I guess they want you to buy those. Finally it was my turn. The nurse practitioner was very efficient, yet friendly. I was a little taken aback at first because she was so on her game that it almost came off as rushing, but the more I talked to her, the more I realized that's just how she is. She got the flu shot ready and I made sure to tell her I was there for tetanus as well. She first told me that I didn't indicate that when I checked in and I told her I did, twice: first on the kiosk and I told the check-in guy as well. Once she realized I wasn't at fault, she got me the paperwork to read about tetanus, and got that one ready as well. I got a shot in each arm, meaning I felt like Gumby the rest of the night. She processed my paperwork, asked if I had any questions, and I was on my way. I really appreciate the fact that they have a check-in guy rather than having the nurse practitioner have to do it all herself, something I've seen at other Take Care Clinics. This allows things to move on pretty quickly. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. If I can't see my doctor for whatever reason and need to come back, I'd feel totally comfortable doing so. Keep it up, VP Take Care Clinic. Don't prove me wrong.

It was 9 p.m. on a Sunday, and DuPage Immediate Care was the only place open. I was initially concerned after reading some negative reviews, but due to the severity of my symptoms, I decided to go anyway. I was seen by Dr. Cynthia, who was extremely attentive and thorough. She did her initial observations including listening to my breathing and checking my nose and throat. She then ordered a chest X-ray (without me even asking), which showed she was doing her due diligence. She showed me the images, explained the results clearly, told me what was going on, and prescribed the appropriate medications. I followed her treatment plan and began feeling much better. A few days ago, I developed a worsening and unrelated sinus infection. Because of my positive experience the first time, I returned to DuPage Immediate Care. Once again, Dr. Cynthia was attentive, listened carefully to my symptoms, diagnosed the issue, and prescribed the appropriate medications. She is kind, professional, and genuinely listens to her patients instead of brushing them off like some doctors I've experienced in the past. I truly appreciate this office and Dr. Cynthia and would absolutely recommend them.

After waiting 30+ minutes to get in to see a doctor, we didn't even see a doctor, it was a trainee, and she was misdiagnosed and given medication that the pharmacist when we picked it up told us that doctors don't normally prescribe based on the symptons. After expecting a strep test, they told us that they don't do a rapid test because the ownership somehow doesn't want to purchase rapid tests, but based on their assessment they think it is strep. Long story short, we went to EndeavorHealth Immediate care in Hinsdale the next day and everything we were told and prescribed the night before was incorrect. No strep and no pink eye and the medication she was put on should not have been prescribed. Midwest Express Clinic in Elmhurst is equally as bad. Don't go to these non-hospital affiliated immediate cares...they are always a disaster and misdiagnose.
