This is the first time I've ever had someone truly help coordinate care between my specialists. She spends more than enough time going over everything and I never feel rushed. The fellows I've met that work with her are great as well, and it's nice that you can get same-day appointments with an office that knows you (urgent care won't see me because I'm complex; my last office often just sent me to the ER for basic things). Dr. Wayland and her team saw me in the hospital as well - they swooped in and gave me the care I needed just as another hospitalist tried to discharge me completely unstable. Having worked in healthcare prior to disability, I'm pretty picky about who is on my care team, but I feel confident in her abilities, AND she's nice. Rare combination :) Also the way I even found her was by recommendation from some of my specialists whom I really trust, which says something, too. Other people mention the phone service - I've only used it twice but it was painless. She checks her patient portal regularly so if it's a basic question I use that.

He is exceedingly well trained in infectious disease care, specifically in HIV. He attended medical school in Israel and did his residency and fellowships at Mount Sinai Medical school and Hospital. He "knows his stuff"!! He has a great attitude and an easy manner. Not stuffy in any way, answers all questions and is exceedingly thorough in his physical examinations history taking and assessments. AHF has a portal which allows all patients to login and see blood work relate and notes of their visit. It is easy to access and Rabinovitz always inputs his notes within an hour after the appointment. The system also allows you to message any of the caregivers and other staff and Rabinovitz answers his incoming messages promptly. All the time. If you are seeking HIV related care, provided in a wholistic manner, this is the physician for you. All insurance accepted and financial support for care and medications provided through AHF.

Hiccups for these type of places like Genesis include issues like staff/patient ratios, newer or less experienced support staff, high Medicaid usage and all the ramifications of dealing with the range of middle to very low income working class people. With that said, I have found the staff to be pleasant and they're have been effective with follow up calls when needed. Go early and hope to be seen within the hour of your appointment. They typically return the energy you give them, including silence. The guy who does triage and community out reach is great in that he is efficient and relatable. Their telehealth platform sucks. I cld wrk remotely all day but as soon as I try to connect with their system it's intermittently glitchy. I have seen 2 different doctors there (my 1st choice was not available my first time going). Dr Sonia Cuellar is the best, very professional, is knowledgeable without being condescending. She is optimistic in the ways she gives info, feedback, and follow up. Dr. Ducille is polite but less engaging, she's not a hello in passing in the hallway type.
