My PTO clutch on my riding mower came loose when the bolt holding it on to the crank came loose over 20 years of use...Midway came and picked it up fixed it and installed the OEM replacement clutch, and delivered it back in less than 24hours! I have been coming here for power equipment of all types, chainsaws, blowers and weed whackers for about 20 years and I have never had anything other than a great experience. Gave this place a call for a mower part, on the phone they requested the model number. When I gave the model number they indicated that the number I gave was specific to the dealership in which I purchased it. I told them I would look online quick and give them a call back. I called them back within 15 minutes of the first call and no one picked up, so I left a message to have them call me back. 20 hours later...still no phone call. I guess I'll be looking somewhere else to see if they have the part. read more

I've been using Midway Power Equipment for all my chainsaw and trimmer needs for years. Larry has always treated me right. I'm a landowner and I've done some pretty stupid things to my saws over the years but he's always fixed them fast and for a very reasonable price. I'm sure he gives me a better price because of the following: 1. I purchased the items from him that I'm bringing him to repair (buy it at Home Cheapo have them fix it...that's right they don't SERVICE anything). He treats me right price wise. Trust me I've talked to other repair techs and Larry is VERY reasonable. 2. My expectations are fair. I bring in a damaged item and then tell him (or he asks) when I need it back. He has never had to bs me when something wasn't ready on time. 3. He knows that I'm loyal. I never ask him to "sharpen is pencil" because I know his prices are fair and in line with the marketplace. He has overhead and he has years of knowledge. Not to preach but please support the local guys in all forms of business. You'd be suprised how well they will treat you when they see that you want to give them business. What dollar figure is that worth? read more

Thought I'd throw in my 2 cents about Larry and Midway Power. I purchased my last lawnmower from a large, local 3 store shop years ago. I've had decent service but when I brought my mower in for service 2 1/2 weeks ago I was told two weeks for repair. I thought wow that's a long time but it is the start of lawn cutting season and they are busy. It took them 2 WEEKS TO GET AN ESTIMATE!!!! Then the repair came back at $ 120-$ 150 to install a new $ 23 Honda carb. I went to see Larry and he said at the peak season he could turn around a mower in a week (I think that's reasonable) if he had the parts. Based on dealing with him for years I know he puts his customer's repairs to the head of the line. So I bought a new mower from him. I'm done with the other company over in Wrentham. Both have same prices on the same product, but he isn't so big that service gets jammed up during the busy season! I'll buy the carb for my old mower, pay Larry to replace it, and I bet it will cost me half of what the other guys are charging. Trust me I've compared repair rates and Larry is more than fair with his labor rates after the warranty is up. Larry will bend over backwards for customers than buy from him. read more

2 bad experiences in a row. I've had enough. I will never do business here again. I stopped in after doing some online research looking for a part. I was hoping they stocked it seeing they are a dealer and all I needed was a blade adapter. The woman looked up the part for me said she could order it. Told me it would be a couple days. I repeated the 2 days commonly referred to as a couple and she confirmed. I question her because last time I ordered something from her a couple days took almost 2 weeks. I called today 3 business days later and asked if it had come in. She said no and that it would be a couple days. When I questioned why a couple days is more than 2 she abruptly stated "I'll cancel the order and find someone else" hanging up on me. The people that work here are rude and ignorant and do not deserve to be in business. Everything they sell can be purchased somewhere else for the same or less and you will actually get customer service. I planned in buying a snowthrower from them but I'll take my $ somewhere else. read more
