Amazing place. So wonderful to visit. That was a very fast four hours…read more We arrived at opening and there was already quite a crowd. When we left, the parking lot was overflowing and cars circling around trying to find a parking space. Still, with the influx of larger crowds to parking lot capacity, it didn't feel crowded inside. This is a wonderful place to visit. A wonderful place to bring family and friends..There are animals and species that I've never seen anywhere else, and I've been to the Tucson Sonoran Desert Museum, the San Diego Safari Park, Sea World, Scripps Oceanography, and various zoos. This was a treat. And almost all were active and were seen. Such variety. There is no wasted space in this museum. Walls are adorned, such as a long wall with the ascending walkway going to the penguin exhibit made to look like a South Pole research center. Even every access door for employees are adorned. See my photos. Nice vegetation areas in otherwise unused space. They put a nice climbing gym in what would have been an unused corner, great for parents who need a break and kids to dissipate energy. There are thoughtful benches placed here and there for a sit down rest. There is a very nice small cafe and snack bar to get a yummy huge pretzel, or hamburger and other sandwiches and salads. Looking at the prices, they are very reasonable for a museum/theme park. You are getting a great value for the buck. Whether you are buying for just the day or a membership, I think that you are getting your money's worth. We spent four hours there and didn't see everything, read everything, tried everything. The four hours went by fast. This is a very popular place for good reason--a jewel in the valley. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

I came here for an event tonight and the area around the claw is so amazing! There are several different animals around the garden area all lit up for Christmas and it so perfect to stroll through. While we didn't get to see any aquatic life on the tank at the Mountain American Event center, it looks like they were still setting things up to add some animals in soon. The facility itself was very spacious with a sound system that covers the whole room. Can't wait to come back once everything is in place!

The space was lively yet thoughtful, with families introducing children to art in an engaging way. As a big fan of Monet, I was happy to see pieces inspired by his work, capturing that soft, pastel, atmospheric beauty he was known for. The contemporary pieces also stood out, especially the interactive candy-wrapped installation--taking a piece was a unique and exciting experience. The American art collection was fascinating, with detailed descriptions providing insight into the dates, techniques, and materials used. The museum does a great job of enhancing the experience with QR codes on the walls, linking visitors to additional information about the pieces as they walk through. The setting itself is stunning--beautiful rooms with high ceilings and large windows offering views of the mountains surrounding the university. The diverse exhibits, including Egyptian, Pacific Asian, and Himalayan sections, were thoughtfully arranged, making the space easy to navigate. To top it all off, there's even a small coffee shop area with tables inside and out, perfect for continuing the conversation about the exhibits with friends or loved ones. I can easily see this as a great date option for an afternoon--relaxed, engaging, and with plenty to talk about. Overall, a beautifully curated museum in a breathtaking location--well worth a visit.

The hands on experience in the playrooms was my children's favorite, as it made the history we read about come alive. My kids are 2, 6, and 9. The play areas are definitely designed more for the 5-6 and under crowd, but we all had fun. All my children loved the walk through mine experience and the model train exhibit. We just had to ask a staff member to turn it on, and the kids were thrilled! As a family we spent about an hour there, it could have been longer if my little ones had more stamina. The staff had organized a cute scavenger hunt activity which was lots of fun!

That was one of the many bites of trivia that I learned on my most recent visit to the museum. This museum has a modest amount of historical artifacts on display-done in a creative way that resembles your grandma's house. There are also some interactive exhibits where kids can play with the food in the grocery store, dress up in the small house or walk through a coal mine cave. It's really well done and is a nice place to poke your creativity. There's no fee to enter the museum and there's plenty of parking. Make it a day and bring the kids for some fun!

We really enjoyed our time exploring the museum and the hands on activities available. I'm talking dressed-up crowd, glitter everywhere, real champagne, and the kind of DJ who knew exactly when to drop Beyoncé, ABBA, and a surprise 2000s throwback that had all of us losing our minds. I came in thinking I might just sip something bubbly and leave before midnight. Instead, I danced for four hours straight, made new friends, and now have a very blurry selfie that might become a family heirloom. The setting was gorgeous, by the way. Big open spaces, cool lighting, and just enough art and architecture to make you feel elevated while also clutching your clutch and screaming the lyrics to "Mr. Brightside." The vibe was party, but in a classy way. Like you could go full glam and not feel out of place, but also not feel judged if you kicked your heels off before midnight and went rogue on the dance floor. Which I did. No regrets. Would I go again? Already planning my outfit. 10 out of 10, would ring in the new year under a disco ball surrounded by Salt Lake's most unhinged and best-dressed again.
