We actually didn't realize that this would be an interactive kind of thing until we first stepped in. Entry is free and you get an immediate hands-on experience once you walk in. We visited on a Friday evening and the crowd traffic wasn't too bad. It was busy, but not extremely busy by any means. The first floor includes asteroids and Mother Nature stuff, like tornadoes and volcanoes. There's a tornado that you can step into and it actually destroys it when you walk into it. But don't think if you've ruined it, because it will come back when you walk out of it. You can also touch the moon and billions old asteroids and play around with a volcano simulator. I even tried to lift a meteorite and it was quite heavy! On the second floor you will find an IMAX theater, where you can watch space movies. Concessions are included like in a real movie theater. No food or drinks are allowed in their other theater on the third floor, however. The third floor is all about space and planets. We got to learn what various planets smell like by pressing a button and putting our nose in front of the vent. We also got to see how water freezes (under a magnifying glass) and a special camera of what our body temperature was like. We also walked into a red planet room with interactive robots. This room definitely looked like something out of Star Wars. If you like anything space related and if you're looking for something to do in the Gateway District, I recommend Clark Planetarium!

I liked how many of the exhibits were lower so my 2 year old could see them on his own. The hands on experience in the playrooms was my children's favorite, as it made the history we read about come alive. My kids are 2, 6, and 9. The play areas are definitely designed more for the 5-6 and under crowd, but we all had fun. All my children loved the walk through mine experience and the model train exhibit. We just had to ask a staff member to turn it on, and the kids were thrilled! As a family we spent about an hour there, it could have been longer if my little ones had more stamina. The staff had organized a cute scavenger hunt activity which was lots of fun!

The vibe was party, but in a classy way. There's so much wonder and awe packed into those places and regardless of which library I visit, I feel the same feeling. I stopped by this one for an event-a community book club. How appropriate right?! We had a private reserved room for our discussion and could see the bookshelves through the glass wall. It was perfect! This library, as I'm sure many do, had a section for children, teens and adults. That makes it nice for people to browse age-appropriate books and maybe make some friends while they are here.

It was kind of weird to see a sharps containers in the bathroom, but I can understand why they would have that, given a need for it.
