this cute shop is stationed inside a well stocked HEB by the right entrance. on our way to austin from the valley, my gf and i needed a pick me up and from where we were at, midtown perk was the closest local shop on maps. upon further investigating, what caught my attention were the quotes attached on the cups whether the drink is iced or hot. our drinks did not disappoint they also serve summer drinks if you're looking for something refreshing. the cashier that took our order seemed to be training but did a fantastic job making us feel welcomed. highly recommend anyone from town or out of town to stop by and grab a drink from these lovely baristas! read more

Midtown Perk - Enjoying a refreshing drink - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Alice, Texas

When I come to HEB, I stop at this coffee shop first! I started to get to know the employees at the shop and they started to also know my drink. Always super friendly and acknowledge the customers. Today I had a really bad experience with a person I've never met before she seem to really upset or not wanting to acknowledge that I was there. She had a I'm on break sign that read "be back in five min". So I sat and waited until she was done and instead of letting me know she was ready to take my order she gets up and starts to clean the tables. I walking up to the Register and that's when she acknowledged me. I asked her for my usual drink which was a Billy, and I asked her to add half and half which she told me she didn't have that they only carry certain types of milk but not that one. ( Kind of confused at this point because I was never told that when they made my drink I just asked for half and half and then the employees proceeded to make my drink for me). I asked her to please add some sweet cream to it, along with the milk she was going to use, And she proceeded to ignore me she made the whole drink with All sweet cream then charged me seven dollars for a medium size hot drink. She finish my drink and then handed to me and not in a nice way, as I was walking away took the lid off so I can let a steam a little bit and took a sip I noticed that she did not fill my drink. It was at least 3 inches of no milk which at this point felt like she just could've just charge me for small size. But I went back, ask for a cup of ice so I can put it over ice since it was really hot and super sweet with a sweet cream. she proceeded to charge me a dollar for a cup of ice. I asked her to please just put ice over my drink instead , since I did not want to run my card. She handed my drink and I went on my way. But the whole experience was just really awkward I felt like she was just forced to make my drink. I didn't like the way I felt being there today and I walked away feeling like I didn't want to go back. Like I said before normally I had a good experience but she just was in a bad mood. read more
