The event itself was a bit vague about details prior to the event, but it worked out. Since the event was dispersed along Atlantic Ave and Steelcraft, parking was basically wherever you wanted to start out. Participating shops and restaurants mostly sold sampler items right at their storefronts. Pricing of the food and drinks tended to be mixed with some businesses offering good deals and others a bit more questionable. One of my favorite items of the day was the cheese and meat board from The Vintage which was so generous and delicious! The beer samples from Ambitious Ales were also fantastic! Getting around the event was simple enough if you were a young adult, but if you were older or had children, I could see it being an issue. They did have the double-decker buses which were fun to ride, but they were slow so getting around the event might've taken you a while given how big the route was. Another issue that could be improved next time would be managing the lines. Certain booths around the event had horrible lines. This was particularly noticeable at places offering beer as the full menu was basically being offered. This was also a problem at places getting too much demand and running out of the food they had prepared. But thankfully, I didn't see places completely selling out of items so no disappointments there. While I didn't encounter this problem, I suspect with all these waits, people had trouble spending all of their tickets because of the delays. I saw a few groups of people with large amounts of tickets nearing the end of the event. Overall, I loved this event. The spin on the tasting event with the buses was a lot of fun and made for a great afternoon of day drinking. I suspect that there were 2 buses running during the event, 3 might've been a bit more helpful in shuttling people quicker. But i would love to see this event come back, had an amazing time!

It's a cute little farmers market right on the corner of Cherry Ave and Fourth Street. Located in a…read moresmall parking lot with a few vendors on deck. It was our first time actually walking around and checking it out. I've alway seen the sign but always to forget that it was going on till it was over. Thursday morning from 8-12. Vendor vise, mainly produce. One floral stall, a couple produce vendors with farm fresh grown veggies and fresh eggs, two fruit vendors one with dried fruits and the other with a minutes of berries. There was also a stall with a couple varieties of mushrooms. Then lastly you have the baked good stall with baked sourdough breads and pastries, and another with granola as well as a vendor with olive oils, tapenade and dips. Lastly an art vendors selling her painting. It's a small little market but cute with what they have to offer. Of course it's mainly the locals that come by but when we arrived around 10:30, it was pretty quiet. Give or take a couple of shoppers and bystander walking by.

Ground was a bit uneven and less grass than usual and I think that's because there are a lot more events happening in this space over the summer. We still made the best of it. DJ's were better than ever, the stages are from Desert Hearts festival, lots of great vendors, lots of art and I even got lost (weird cause it's not a huge festival) and ended up finding some secret stages not on the schedule. It goes from 2pm - 10pm on both Saturday and Sunday then you have to pack it up and go. It's not an overnight camping festival.

A free service of the City of Long Beach, so it's nice to know my parking ticket money is going somewhere. With booths and entertainment and security along the way, and of course, the bustling bars and restaurants, this is the perfect day for a pub crawl by bike.

On August 16th, a friend invited me to check it out on their free-admission day (Sunday). Since my daughter was with me, I brought her along. There was this very interesting exhibit with work by Mercedes Gertz. I was so fascinated and pulled into her world, from her pieces revolving around the societal expectations of women and marriage and how that shows up in certain "fairy tales" to the part of the exhibit that delves deeper into dreams being a connection or road to the unconscious and the psychology behind it and how that all shows in her work. I was in awe and felt so drawn, I knew I had to go back and spend more time to admire her work without being rushed through by my daughter. Little did I know, her exhibit was taken down that same evening/the next day. I was so sad finding this out when I returned the Saturday after with a friend whom I knew would appreciate the subject her art touches on, especially the part about dreams and psychology. We still enjoyed the rest of the art, and even saw the small room at the rear of the gift shop and got to appreciate some time in the Sculpture Garden. It had been forever since I'd gone back there as well. Since a large portion of the museum was closed off due to the Gertz exhibit being taken down, they did offer us admission tickets for a future date. I guess I'll start paying closer attention to their events and exhibits again. It felt good to get out of the outside world and get lost in the art.

This museum was SO disappointing! The building is huge so I figured it would be able to house large…read morescale exhibits. Inside there were four gallery rooms for exhibits but the rooms, although fairly spacious, severely lacked art. I mean, the walls were very bare and I felt like they didn't have enough inventory to fill up the wall space. It was weird. Here you have this massive building and barely any art worth viewing. It was ridiculous. The entire experience was pretty lame and left me feeling unsatisfied. I should have known better when their website wasn't allowing patrons to purchase tickets online. The entire museum feels and looks mismanaged to me. It's such a waste of a good building, I honestly don't know how these folks keep the lights on because the exhibits are laughable. One thing I will say, the Guillermo Bert exhibit is definitely worth checking out but that's the only interesting art MOLAA has to offer right now. The people who run this museum need to get it together because the Cheech in Riverside is amazing and a true inspiration to Latin American artists everywhere. Sorry MOLAA, I'll never come back and I'll never recommend this place to anyone.

We got there and it was rather smaller than what we were expecting. Parking was accessible and easy to find parking. There are few vendors that sold your typical vegetables and fruits, a few food vendors, and handmade items. The food vendors available were a seafood & oyster joint, pupusas, fruit drinks, hummus, tamales, and breads. My boyfriend and I tried the oyster and a spicy handroll (we got salmon) for the oyster and seafood place. The oysters were nice and fresh. The guy even shuck it right in front of us. But in our opinion we too big. The oyster was big so when you slurp the oyster it's too much of a chew for me. And I understand the spicy salmon was premade. I don't really care for spicy but I thought I'd give it a try. It was too spicy for us. Too much sriracha for a spicy handroll roll. Before eating the spicy hand roll, I decided to get a drink because I already know the handroll was gonna be too spicy, so I bought a mango drink from one of the vendors. She had a great selection of fruit drinks. I got the mango. It was very light and refreshing. And very mango forward. Good thing I got a drink cos it definitely helped with the spicyness.
