Me in my bed
Melissa A.

I had to have a procedure a few months ago leading to a surgery today. I have never been to Mid State and feel that my care both times was exceptional! During my first procedure the OR pre op nurse was amazing! She was able to keep me calm and was just sooo sweet. My procedure went well and all of my Drs. Were amazing! After wards the recovery nurse took great care of me and engaged in meaningful conversation with me to help move the process along and help me get ready to go home. Flash forward to a few months later and I now needed surgery. Check in was easy and everyone was so nice even a 5:45am. The pre-op nurse was very nice and helpful when I was showing signs of anxiety. She reminded me that I was going to be okay and listened to me express my emotions. The anesthesiologist walked me through the process of putting me to sleep including what meditation she would be using and why. My Dr. was just as informative and willing to answer questions and explain the process. All of the nurses here were so supportive, knowledgeable and helpful. The food was great and the room was spotless. Mid-State is a great hospital.

Not speaking much about the entire hospital, but a part of it in general. I had emergency gallbladder removal on 12-7-19 and the staff from the emergency Care unit all the way to after care was a blessing . They were friendly, efficient and caring to me and never left me alone very long. The post-opp wing Connecticut Orthopaedic Institute inside Midstate was the best care I could have gotten. The staff Erika,Teeka & Anthony to name a few spends 12-16 hour shifts here and are amongst the nicest and caring people I have ever met. They had a full house on that wing that weekend and fulfilled every need swiftly. I didn't wait past 4 seconds before I hit my button & someone entered my room. Bravo to the team in this unit ,you made my recovery easier and less scary just having you all by my side .

Er is one of the worst in the state. Save your health - get the best outcome for you and your family. Go to Hartford or Yale .

I did something stupid and twisted my ankle. I mean, I play rugby and ice hockey so I can shake it…read moreoff. No big deal, right? Wrong. Whatever I did to it, it required medical attention and rather than clog the emergency department over my stupidity, I went here to the Mid State Mediquick Location. This place is fast, friendly and the staff from the physician assistants, nurses and medical assistants are very knowledgeable. After ruling out a fracture, they quickly wrapped my foot, gave me a walking boot of some sort that I probably wont wear, gave me a prescription for some pain meds and sent me on my merry way albeit hobbling along with crutches. Excellent location, I think I had to wait all of 5 minutes and everyone was so nice. Smarter choice than going and sitting in the emergency department and surely smarter than what I did to injure myself.

Came here when I lived in Wallingford about 10 years ago and they were excellent. I couldn't figure…read moreout why it felt like I was being stabbed in the ear so I made a trip over here to have it checked out. The wait was a little long; not terribly so. I was in a private room and started getting a little teary-eyed on my own when the pain got worse and the nurse noticed when she came to check on me. The doctor booked into the room a very short time later and quickly diagnosed me as having conjunctivitis in both eyes and an ear infection in both ears. The doctor was very sweet and asked if I was under a lot of stress since that type of thing doesn't typically happen all together, and she made a lot of excellent recommendations for avoiding cold liquids and sticking strictly with warm or room temperature drinks until I healed up. I have had a couple of ear infections since then and haven't had another doctor take time to mention that helpful tip since then. I'm not sure if the same staff is still there, but I greatly appreciated their concern and the time they took to make sure I had all of the info I needed to get better as quickly as possible.
