First appt- needed lab work done, it snowed, took off work to have blood drawn, showed up and their lab wasn't even open. No one called to advise their lab wasn't open. Found out my diagnosis from the pharmacist when the pharmacy called to let me know my prescription was ready. Didn't even know what I had been diagnosed with or any information about the prescription. 2nd follow-up for blood work after being on prescription for 3 months.... Again, take off work to show up for bloodwork after fasting and "their system is down" but no one could pick up the phone to call and let anyone know. Worthless. read more

Came in needing assistance trying to figure out why my paperwork for my Capt License drug screening was kicked back for lack of being a certified testing center. Young lady behind the counter Britney was amazing. She was extremely busy yet she took the time to research and help me find a place to do this test again. Didn't have to to help me she could have easily said you need to find yourself the place on my own. And kicked me out the door. TRULY A CLASS ACT INDIVIDUAL! They are lucky to have her. Good Public service truly is not the norm. She deserves a raise ! read more

Does not do much at yearly Wellness visit other than talk a bit. It is important to us to get checked out thoroughly once a year since we are approaching 70. A family practice physician should be the focus of your healthcare and we did not feel that here. I'm always amazed at how unfriendly the front desk ladies are....not one bit of warm and fuzzy, gracious or kind or even welcoming. We've given this place 2.5+ years of our service and it's time to move on. And the two facilities (Powhatan and the village) are so dirty and outdated. read more

Just awful, cannot get a hold of anyone to send me my medical records so I can switch to another practice. Phone line is busy?? What's next with this place... Prior to above, I have called 5 times to refill a prescription with no avail. No one has called me back and the few times someone did answer, the associate said please be patient and we will get it done for you. Just unbelievable, I have excellent health insurance and have been very polite/courteous. And before all this, my primary physician left the practice and the office NEVER contacted me. I was dumbfounded at the lack of care or concern from employees. The front end workers are sub par, definitely hate their jobs. From the few experiences I had with Dr. Prillaman, were pretty good. But I am definitely leaving the practice, sucks due to the convenience factor but people, this place is not professional at all!!! read more

I have a lot of health problems that affect me daily. I have always been afraid of doctors because I have had many bad experiences with them. Julie Julian changed all of that for me. She talks to me as long as we need to figure out a solution to my problem, sincerely cares for her patients, and never makes me feel that my concerns are invalid. She truly knows her stuff medically, and is just an incredibly warm and calming presence. She works out of the midlothian village office. read more

On a routine check up Dr. Prillaman noticed an issue on my EKG. This led to several exams and treatment for arterial sclerosis. I drive 20 miles for the care provided by her and the practice. They do a great job. I've been with them for over 10 years. read more

I left MFP a few years ago. They had been my go to practice since 1992. One Friday, I had the flu and came to their new office as a walk in patient. There were very few Patients in the waiting room yet I sat there for 2.5 hours. When I finally asked if they had forgotten about me, they moved me into a room. I waited in there for another hour and a half until just before closing. Meanwhile, outside the room I could hear the Doctors taking phone calls and talking about their weekend plans. At 5:05 that evening I walked out to the receptionist, got my co-pay back and vowed never to return. I broke that vow this morning. I tore a ligament in my knee over the weekend and called their number at the time their website said they opened, 8 am. I was on hold, directed by their answering machine, for 45 minutes before deciding to hang up and drive over there. In tremendous pain, I dragged myself into their office where I counted 1 patient in the waiting room and 2 young ladies behind the counter just chatting away while the phones rung off the hook. They informed me that they couldn't fit me in for 4 days because all but 2 of their Doctors were on vacation. What kind of caring practice has the majority of their Doctors go on vacation the same week without even hiring pro-tenum replacements? Anyway, without another word from those two about alternatives, I dragged myself next door to Bon Secors. The angels in there said that they were very sorry but they couldn't fit me in until 3:30. Then they told me I should go to "Ortho On Call" and that they took walk-ins and would accept my PPO insurance. She told me I would probably be referred to an Orthopedic Doctor anyway. Then they went out of their way to give me explicit directions and made me repeat them back. Sorry to go on and on but if you're considering going to Midlothan Family Practice in Powhatan, don't do it. Go next door to Bon Secor, They actually care about the people that show up in their office seeking treatment. MFP is getting one star from me only because this application won't allow zero stars. read more

I left the Midlothian practice years ago when I felt like they valued the dollar more than the patients. After waiting upwards of two hours for a scheduled appt that was the straw, and I drove from Westend to come there. Now my sister has been to this practice (new I guess). She went on Monday for a xray for an injury. She has called 3x and has been told the xray has not even been read yet, REALLY ???? She is in pain, had to go buy her own sling and splint for her arm and no one knows if it something is broken that might be healing. She heard a big pop when she took off the sling the other night, I MEAN REALLY? She keeps calling and no one calls her back. Why bother being in practice if you are going to ignore people like this. This should be grounds for malpractice! read more

I always have been treated with respect. Doctors and staff are all friendly, efficient and know what they're doing. I appreciate the care they've given to me and my mother over thé years. I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking primary care physicians. read more

I have to give them a star to write this. I wouldn't give them one star if I didn't have to. Twice in the past 6 weeks I have called in the morning at about 9:30 and did not hear back from anyone until I called in at 4:30. I was having issues getting a medical condition under control and needed answers and was feeling horrible from the meds they gave me. The first time I was told they were having issues with Dr Sander's nurse being out and the other one was not doing a good job keeping up. The office mgr Kathy called me back after my call and was finally able to get Dr Sanders to call me back and he made a change to the meds (called about an hour later). A couple of weeks went by and I was keeping up with all of my readings and I called again as my reading were still up (I was concerned because I had an emergency room visit a few weeks earlier while on a trip to MI). Same thing. No call back. I called in at around 4:30 and asked for Kathy and she got with Dr Sanders (I had the email for the Nurse and sent my readings to her). I was told that Dr S would call me at his "earliest convenience" and that I was not considered an emergency (pretty pathetic). He called me at 5:45 (while I was on another work related call) and went on to tell me that I was being "compulsive" taking all the readings and I need to wait a couple of weeks to let the meds work. I did so and then booked an appointment for 3 weeks after the change to the new meds. Today, I got a CERTIFIED letter in the mail telling me "I, in addition to my staff are unable to meet your standards regarding response times as well as your care, a I (Dr S) am in clinic seeing patients and strive to respond to my messages as timely as possible". Then he went on to say that I was being "withdrawn" from his care and I could not be seen by anyone at any MFP location. I and my family have been patients of MFP for about 10 years and this is how you treat people. The only thing I wanted was a call back from the Nurse...Dr S didn't have to call me. Really Dr S. shame on you. Consider retirement if your that stressed. I was looking for another Dr anyhow as your folks and you are inefficient and disorganized and obviously are not as concerned with my care as you are with herding people through your office like cattle so you can pay your huge overhead. Even when I called in to Kathy the first time, the friction there between your workers seemed to be very apparent during the call (they called on a recorded line. I am an owner of a business myself and have been in customer service most of my adult life. you and your office need to hire a professional trainer to come in and fix your issues. Also, I believe my PHI may have been compromised and I will be checking into HIPAA guidelines to see. read more

Not really sure who/what Steve L. experienced, but ALL of my experiences with them in the Powhatan branch have been the total opposite. I'm sorry that he had a bad experience, but don't let his one review determine your visit. He sounds old and crotchety to me. read more
