And such good value! If you choose the "Saver" option - i.e. after 24 hours you cannot cancel your reservation without having to pay the full price - these nicely furnished *** en suite rooms won't be more expensive than those at some fleabag in the city with shared bathroom facilities. Just make sure in advance that you really wanna go. All you can eat cooked breakfast is optional, and not cheap - I never book it because I prefer different kinds of breakfast (or no breakfast) on different days. The rooms all come en suite with a shower (Though this time, mine was sadly lacking any real water pressure!), a king size double with a very comfy mattress - good sleep quality is guaranteed - and more than adequate storage for your stuff. Efficient room service every day. Everything's kinda neat here - and everything's kinda "mauve". And that's the only reason I don't use Premier Inn exclusively when travelling in the UK. There's only so much mauve than I can take. ;) - Great location for Derby city centre and the directly adjacent Bus Station. Derby Midlands Rail Station is a 15 minute walk away, and the river's right next to it.

The location could not be better, you walk out the door and you are facing the shopping high street. The parking is great, you can park your car in the secure car park and leave it there for your stay, the car park is shared by the bus station and shopping centre I believe. The room was good, can't fault it. I didn't have much of a view but it doesn't really matter. They offer smoking rooms which is a rarity these days, I had a smoking room myself and they are situated a long, long way down the corridors from non-smoking rooms. So if you want a smoking room, prepare yourself for a long walk. The staff were very polite on the desk and in the bar area. The receptionist had good knowledge of the local area and was able to help us get around. The breakfast was excellent, probably one of the best hotel buffet-style breakfasts I have ever had. If you stay here I highly recommend making sure you make it to breakfast.

The team there has made my stay very enjoyable, they look after everything - future room bookings, information around town, events, busy times etc. The hotel itself is new, modern and clean. The food in the restaurant is good (breakfast and evening meals). The location is great - close to restaurants and bars ss well as a good running track along the river. I would definitely recommend staying here if you need to be in Derby.

I mocked. And a year later, for all my vices (and room availability issues) I had to stay at this damned hotel for nine whole days. It is an awful, awful place. The lights barely work, the radiator programmed to either refrigerate the room of broil it. Actually, that's a theme common with the shower and sinks as well. And someone's got to explain to me why the fuck they need to have two separate taps for hot and cold. It's a logistically retarded notion. You have one tap for freezing water, and the other one for scalding water. Separated by a good 7-9 inches (so they don't really mix). It takes on average 15 minutes for the one 90 year old to seat you for breakfast in the morning, and an additional 45 to come get your order. So no breakfast for someone who say wakes up an hour early before jumping into a taxi to get to work. So if you have a reason to visit Derby (after you've asked the question why a number of times) go find another place to stay - they'll be a holiday inn and a Hampton inn soon enough.

It's fairly cheap, they serve half decent food for breakfast (I found anyway - perhaps not worth the £8.50 though. But the company was paying), and the bar downstairs is a decent enough place to relax with a drink and catch the football, if that's your thing. I'm a bit baffled by the obscure lighting in the foyer and the piped trance music. But I seemed to be able to get past this by telling myself 'you're in the midlands. It's different up here'.
