I saw this doctor the first time I thought I finally found a great doctor. Then went for testing and had a follow up appointment booked for me at a different office, the last one was 10 min from house, the new one in Middletown was 25 min away. I get their 9 minutes late and the front desk tells me that Dr. Kuhn has a strict 7 min window he follows that if you are not there within, you will need to rebook your appointment for another time...uh, no I will need to find a new doctor. I am just glad I was able to see how the practice operates before I had any major surgeries. Be forewarned, if you are going to be more than 7 minutes late, don't bother even going, if you get stuck in traffic, doesn't matter, after 7 minutes doctor will not see you! The Middletown Ortho and Spine location is consistently late with appointment start times. I have never had an appointment where I have been seen at the time I scheduled. What's the point of having good doctors if you can't see them when you are scheduled to? I also felt the desk staff was rude and not respectful to the patients (Wednesday morning desk staff). read more

This group was profit driven before they were bought out. Now it's painfully obvious that's all they care about. Patients arguing in the lobby about copays and clearly in pain and being denied access to help because they couldn't afford the $15 copay. They hand you a tablet and ask you to sign your life away without being able to read what is being signed. The front office is the absolute worst. They proudly demonstrate a general disregard for people coming here looking for help. You ask for a paper copy to review and your told you'll be given a copy once the documents are signed. Just sign here. Only a moron would sign documents without reading them in their entirety first. If this isn't a red flag, their is no guarantee that the procedures they perform will have any improvement on your condition. Sounds like they have been faced with legal action a time or two and that their high priced attorney thought that statement would be a good idea. They also wanted to perform unnecessary tests just to bill the insurance company. Do yourself favor, find another office. My wife had back surgery years ago. By a "spine specialist" NOT. At the time she was over weight, we explicitly ask if her weight would be a problem. The surgeon emphatically said no. Her surgery did not go well, and she is still in pain. After her surgery the doctor came in and said wiggle your toes, she did, he walked out never visited her again in the hospital. When we went in for her post surgery appointment, he told us he no longer takes or insurance and his fees not affordable. Because of her continuing pain, we went to a neurosurgeon, the doctor said there was nothing he could do. The neurosurgeon told us the surgery was done through her back rather from the front as was the normal practice. Later we got the surgery report, and the lying SOB had written, the patients "morbid obesity" complicated the surgery. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I was in horrific back and hip pain and went to the orthopedic walk in. The first time I was first turned away because they didn't take my insurance and was told to just go anywhere and get a referral. My pcp did that but then 2 weeks later (Middlesex orthopedics said it takes 7-10 days to process a referral) Middlesex orthopedics told me they never received it and that I had to actually see my pcp anyway. I did that and they sent another referral. Then after 10 days and many additional calls to their office they finally told me they received the referral but now it's with the surgeon and it's "up to him to decide if he will accept you as a patient". I originally went to the walk in 2nd week of January and did not get seen until late February. When I was seen I was misdiagnosed! Even with X-rays. The PA was rude, and showed zero empathy toward me. Keep in mind I could barely walk. I will never ever return to this office. The surgeon chooses if he will see me?! Didn't he take an oath! Unbelievable- STAY AWAY. read more

I have had ok experience here with Dr sohn. I had injection into my back for herniated disk. It worked well. I appreciate being able to function again. However, here is a pro tip for the doc:it might be nice to introduce yourself to your patients BEFORE they are on a table with their pants pulled down over their ass. Does gender matter? Maybe. Maybe guys don't think anything of meeting people with a bare ass. As a woman, I do. Other experience here, while attending appointments with an elderly family member, was disappointing. We waited 45 minutes in the exam room (plus the 15 min early arrival they request.. so an hour). No check in with us. No apology. No concern over whether the 85 yr old sitting there in a mask that whole time was doing ok. Meanwhile we listened to all the techs/aides laughing and gossiping in the hallway the whole time. Popping into the room to check in and let people know they are not forgotten is a BASIC courtesy. Especially for older folks who may have difficulty tolerating the wait (for medical reasons). When asked about the wait time the patient tech adopted an attitude of defensiveness rather than graciousness. If you go there for the ortho walk in, they will reel you in to their sprawling business model. A follow up with a doc there, an mri at their radiology unit, and pt at the other end of the building. read more

I Had an accident on a Saturday, and went to a Middlesex walk-in ER. I had an x-ray done which showed a broken collarbone. The doctor I saw there told me he had been in touch with an orthopedic doctor from Middlesex Orthopedic Surgeons because the break looked a little complicated and I may need surgery. The Orthopedic doctor had ordered a CT scan while I was at the ER, which was done and I was told that this doctor would get in touch with me after reviewing both the X-ray and CT scan. I was under the impression I would hear back from him or someone that Saturday but did not. I called the ER on Sunday to inquire about the call back and was told that the doctor usually makes call backs on Monday since the office is closed on the weekend. I thought that was strange since the ER doctor had spoken to him on that Saturday. I was told that if I do not get a call back by 11 am that Monday, to call myself. Monday comes and I make some phone calls to other Orthopedic offices just incase and was able to get in early that same day by another office. By the time I get home it was 2:30 pm and I still had not heard from the surgeon from Middlesex so I call myself. I speak to a receptionist and I explain my situation and she says she will take my number and give the doctor the message. Nothing else was said so I was once again under the impression that I would get a call back that day. I work for a busy ophthalmic practice so I understand call backs may be at the end of the day. I didn't want to be that person to keep calling so I waited. I still did not get a call back. Tuesday comes and I call Middlesex one more time first thing in the morning. I speak to another receptionist and explain my situation again, and express some frustration because I am taking time off from work and I need to know what to expect. Right away, the receptionist says in a dry tone that the surgeon was in surgery all day Monday. Something that was not told to me when I spoke to someone that day. Then, she makes an appointment for Thursday because he was booked Tuesday and Wednesday. I can't say she was really rude, but she did not seem to care to help or understand my problem. Thursday comes and I come to my appointment. I sign in, sit and wait. I get called up to the desk and am told my appointment was in another office. The receptionist calls the other office to see if they would see me there and right away was told no because the doctor had to go to surgery. I was offered to see the PA who was at the office I went to. The receptionist seemed nice, but also did not seem to care to ask what my appointment was for and could not answer my question which was what was going to happen if I see her because this is a surgery consultation ? All she said was "I don't know." The only reason why I wanted to see this doctor was because he was the one recommended and who had asked for the CT scan, so he had that information already and I wanted an second opinion. I basically feel like no one seemed to care to help, or understand. I take responsibility for going to the wrong office, but I also did not get a reminder call. As I've said, I come from a very busy practice with 13 doctors. We see people for routine exams, surgeries, and emergencies and as crazy as it can be, our main priority is patient satisfaction. From day one, I was given the run around and not once did anyone apologize or try to help. I do not know what to say for this doctor as I did not see him, nor will I ever but I am a bit perturbed at the fact that he did order the CT scan, which he will get paid for, but never followed up with me. I will use this experience as an example when our office has our monthly meeting and discuss patient care. read more

Went to the Walk in Clinic today after waiting 2 hours at the E.R. Completely impressed with the staff from the second I walked through the doors. What a well run, organized and caring staff. I waited no more than 5 minutes and XRays were taken, diagnosis made and hopefully I'm on my way to a pain free future. I will recommend this over E.R. for those with Ortho issues. read more

worst experience ever! can i give no stars??? they wont ever call you back with your mri or xray results. they will over charge you, they will lose your referral from your primary care physician and then send you a large bill that the insurance would not cover due to the lack of the referral code. no one will answer the phone in the billing dept ever. the doctors assistant will not call you back. the surgical coordinator will not call you back. good luck resolving anything with them. i have been waiting over 2 months for my mri results and no one will call me back. the sad part is when i called in tears to the receptionist, he said that he hears this kind of thing all the time there. he said i am not the only one complaining about this kind of service. glad they got paid because i am still in extreme pack pain and don't know the results of my tests. do not go there!!! read more

Dr. Walsh at Middlesex Orthopedic Surgeons gave me 2 new hips (5 months apart) and I am now pain free and very active once again. The staff at Middlesex Orthopedic Surgeons are professional, courteous, and extremely helpful; they go above and beyond to respond to questions or concerns. I cannot say enough good about Dr. Walsh, he is professional and explains everything in an easy to understand manner. Most importantly, he is a first rate surgeon. read more

I injured my right knee and went to the urgent care and was diagnosed with an MCL strain. Follow up with Dr Walsh who prescribed physical therapy. My knee got worse with physical therapy so I was given cortisone shot when that did work I was given arthritis lubricant shots. The knee continued to deteriorate so I got a second opinion. An MRI reviled I had a torn meniscus and need surgery. It took 4 months and a change of physicians to get the correct diagnosis.' read more

FRAUD! Beware folks. Went here with back pain and was diagnosed with a herniated disk but needed a 1500 out of pocket MRI I couldn't afford to be 100% sure it was a herniated disk issue. To get pain medication I was told I had to do a urinalysis which would be covered by insurance - guess what? They lied. 600 dollar piss test to get 30 weak non-pain relieving acetaminophen with 5mg hydrocone!! Buyer beware. Unethical medical racket here who lies. Disgusted and will be fighting this railroading all the way. Also going to complain/pursue with the AMA. read more

Avoid at all costs. This practice takes on a tremendous case load and patients suffer as a result. My wife sought treatment for a minor back injury at Middlesex Orthopedic Surgeons, services were rendered over the course of several appointments. The following is a summary of our experiences: Excessive wait times: The waiting room is always backed with patients and there are typically lines to check in for your appointment. My wife's appointments and exams were always rushed and we felt our questions and concerns were brushed aside by the clinicians. My wife was made to feel like she was nothing more than an account number as opposed to a vulnerable patient suffering from an injury. Excessive case load: Over the course of several treatments and appointments my wife saw her surgeon at approximately half of those appointments. The practice employs physicians assistants to front the bulk of the case work. Do not expect anyone to return your calls should you need to speak with a doctor or clinician regarding your injury. On the plus side, the surgeons (when you do actually get a chance to speak with them about your diagnosis) appear to be extremely competent. Extremely poor billing practices: As the result of my wife's back injury the doctor recommended a course of three cortisone injections. My wife agreed with the doctor's recommendation and made appointments for the treatments. The billing group submitted the pre-authorization request to my insurance company and was denied coverage however failed to inform us, and most strikingly failed to obtain written consent from my wife to perform the treatments as an out-of-pocket expense (I was informed by my insurance agency that under the terms of their contract with this provider, the provider must obtain written consent to perform a treatment that has been denied pre-authorization prior to administering the treatment in order to establish financial liability with the patient). This practice performed the three cortisone injections in breach of their contract with my insurance company and billed us over $5,000 for the services. I left messages with the billing representative at Middlesex Orthopedic to discuss this issue on 9/01/17, 09/06/17, and 9/08/17 and my calls were never returned. I then called my insurance company on 09/12/17 and the insurance agent managed set up a conference call with the billing representative from this practice (she was dodging my calls but picked up the phone on the first try from my insurance company). During the conference call the agent from my insurance company informed the billing representative from Middlesex Orthopedic that because they failed to provide the patient with the required consent forms to perform the injections as uninsured services that they cannot bill us for the services. It goes without saying that my wife would have never agreed to these treatments had she known that they were not covered by my health plan. The representative from Middlesex Orthopedic responded that the appropriate consent forms were signed by my wife but have been unable to provide me copies, submit copies to my insurance company (required) or show proof that they were presented to my wife (she was never given the required forms to sign). The billing representative from Middlesex Orthopedic stated that they would be launching an internal investigation to determine the location of these forms and agreed to put the bill on hold until such forms could be located however have continued to send me bills while their investigation is pending. I then contacted my insurance company again to inform them that they were continuing to issue these bills and the insurance company had to send a formal balance bill letter to Middlesex Orthopedic to inform them that they were in breach of their contact with this insurance company and to immediately cease requesting payment from my wife. read more

Our child is a student and was referred by the university. We were overcharged & they did not follow their own office policy regarding explaining coverage at the time of service. They misread the MRI and we ended up having to take the MRI to a local doctor instead. read more

This medical office deserves ZERO stars! Dr. Bash performed not 1 but 2 surgeries on my husband and now because my husband is disabled and we have state insurance, Dr. Bash is refusing to see my husband. My husband is in constant pain and can not even stand up straight anymore. This office has no professionalism and they are trained to be rude and uncaring. Please do yourself a favor and do not use this practice for any surgical procedures. The doctors only want to get paid for the surgery and then prefer to forget they ever met you! read more
