Let me start by saying I have an Amazing, very honest Mechanic who does all the work on my car but does not do oil changes. My wife took our older cadi in for an oil change and whoever helped her must have seen "Older Car/ Young Woman" and $$$ signs. He tried to tell her that the water pump was leaking and she needed a new thermostat. He told her that it was a huge job and they would have to basically take the engine apart and out of the car to get to the pump. I know for a fact that the water pump is easy to get to and about a 20 minute job on this car. It is also newer and definitely not leaking. I will never understand this kind of shady behavior from such a huge name in car care. Preying on people who don't know much about cars is LOW. Sorry for the Rant. I am just sick of scandalous people taking advantage of others. I guess It's a good thing my wife brought the car in and not me. We will Never be back for return business. read more

Had the same experience as others here I see.... Mike behind the counter says I need a full synthetic oil change and I have a groupon for $19 synthetic blend and tire rotation Also need windshield wipers he says $10 installed and he'll give me $19 credit for the groupon... I hear everyone else while I'm waiting being told the same thing until one smart girl says "NO! I always get the cheaper oil change! The car is a Ford Focus not a BMW!" At checkout I learn its $10 each for the wipers and with the oil change its $55 on top of the $19 for the groupon !!! Called the dealership afterwards and they said to use a synthetic blend. $75 all together for an oil change and wipers on a 2014 Sonata??? Never rotated the tires either! Super shady!!! I should read these reviews before purchasing the Groupon deal for the break pads and rotors service. Very dishonest. My car is 2 years new and first time changing break and I need new rotors? There were 2 other shops I checked that they just need to service the rotor. Please take off your Groupon deal, lying is not a way to do business. I went to 2 Midas shops and both were the same so I would not bother to try the 3rd one. Right now, I am in the process to get my refund back from Groupon. Wasted time. Just came in for a oil change at 4pm with only 3 cars in their car bay port, 3 guys just sitting around on their phones laughing at each other, the guy wearing the pink/reddish shirt up front in the office was disrespectful & VERY unprofessional. The guy tells me he cant do a oil change today even though there's 2 hours left till they close & the midas employees are just sitting around messing around ON THE CLOCK! This place is super unprofessional & I will be taking my familys 4 cars somewhere else for my cars maintenance and give another company my money. I made appointment. I'm with Groupon. 1st time I came they welcomed me nicely, second time I came back they telling me top of the Groupon I have to pay extra. BS. Also one of the technician commented me very rudely about how much he hate to work on car is with Groupon because he's basically working for free! Very disrespectful. Made an appointment. Was seen at my appointed time. Told me they would evaluate the situation and call me. I already knew what was needed as I had taken it to the dealership, I didn't want to pay dealership prices! So within half an hour they called me and told me exactly what the dealership said. Horrible place. Went there for an oil change, which they advertise @ 17.99 for "most cars" right on their billboard outside. Then they quoted me 39.98. I asked about their own ad and they said "that's for cars that take up to 5 quarts and yours takes 5.5qt." So apparently the additional 0.5qt doubles the price. Hmm OK?? Bait and switch much? But whatever I needed it done so I just went with it. When I come back to pick up the car they say they found a leak in my upper radiator hose and it would be $200 to fix it. First off, I asked them to just change my oil, not to poke around my car looking for ways to get more money. Second, the upper radiator hose for my car costs $10 and takes 2 screws and to replace!!! It can be done in 2 minutes literally. They want $200 for that??? At that point, I knew I was dealing with ripoff artists. Third, I just looked at the hose now and it's not leaking anything so not only they rip you off on prices, they give false diagnostics as well. Finally at the end they charged my card and said it didn't go through. I showed them my bank app to show the deducted amount. They insisted it was just pending and they had to run it again. I was sick of dealing with them at that point so I agreed and figured I'd sort it out with my bank later. Just called the bank and sure enough, I was double charged, but thankfully the bank reversed one of the charges. I also have to mention they had my car out in the public lot with the windows rolled down and the key in the ignition! Total disregard for customer's property! I don't know if these guys are flat out crooks or just dumb but I'll NEVER do business again with them. Way to mess up a simple oil change! read more

Well, I, like the others came for an oil change. I didn't want to pay full price for a synthetic oil change so did a Google search and here I am. Even came w/ a tire rotation. Not sure how they are able to sell a synthetic oil change for $40 but if it's the real deal I'm not going to be one to complain lol I was able to make an appointment online, which was nice, and even received a verification call from the shop to let me know they received my request & penciled me in. The gentleman at the desk that helped me was very nice and pleasant to deal w/. I've now been here about 5 minutes, my truck is already in a bay and a tech is on it. I opted to stay and wait as to secretly watch them from the waiting room. There is a bar right next door which is always a plus when taking your car in for work to help pass the time. Done! And not too shabby, only 30 minutes and they had me out the door. The did bring my check engine light being on to my attention, i was already aware. I informed him that I had it scanned at Autozone and they said it was the evap error and I changed out the gas cap and now it's intermittent. I told him there was another part my brother-in-law said to replace but couldn't remember. He did some code searching and we figured out the part. He looked it up and found 4 stores that carried it locally. He then looked and said it's about $100 + about $40 for labor but I should do a diagnostic on it to be sure that's it. He did inform me if I did the diag and got the work done there w/ their parts they would put the diag fee towards the work which works for me. The last thing I felt was pressured to move forward w/ any of the work suggested. No extra secret fees when I went to pay or shady "this is broke" none sense, just tax. Not sure if they are now under new management or something but I received completely different service than all the reviews I read on here. Gave make model year of vehicle at time appointment was made .Get there sit around for half an hr just for them to tell me they can't do it because their software isn't up to date!!!...Now I have to drive all the way across town hours from now to try again at another Midas!!! I was in desperate need for an oil change on my leased Honda CR-V that only takes full synthetic oil from the beginning. I don't have a car care package with my dealership so I decided to shop around. To get a synthetic oil change at the dealership $49.99 and $25.99 for a tire rotation for my car model. At Midas, $57 and free tire rotation + fees for disposal and taxes. So pricing was not that bad, but at Midas they guarantee 30-45 mins ( with an appointment) for my kind of car service. Guess what, they hit right on the 45 minute mark. I'm so used to waiting 2 and a half or 3 hours at my dealership across town for some b.s excuse why it took longer. Customer service was spot on upon arrival, and checking out with two different customer service reps/mechanics. I loved the waiting area with the Netflix and coloring books for my son to color. Also they provided free snacks and refreshments. I was pleased with my service and I'm happy I do not have to drive way across town to get an oil change, and the fact that it only took 30-45 minutes to get my service done, wow! Tip: I had an appointment, seems like this location they do get busy I heard someone making an appointment over the phone. read more

I have never went to an oil change place ask for their lowest price deal and then been told that that means I should have brought my own oil. They advertise it 12.95 oil change special on their billboard but when you go in and ask them, all it is is bait-and-switch, they then tell you that you need to bring your own oil. Any place that does business in this deceptive way should be avoided especially when they're fixing your car. There are enough schemers and scammers in this business why take a chance. read more

He tried to tell me what size tires are on my car insisting i was wrong when clearly im staring right at my tire/rim size. This business- and that is true to all Midas shops do the same thing-- UPSELL -especially if you are wanting to have a brake pad service. They will always tell you that you ALSO need to get your rotor replaced!!!! So from a $120 charge for a brake pad and rotor resurface to a $451 charge. read more

He basically explained that Dodge/Chrysler isn't a good make of car and blah blah blah. He was loud and obnoxious. He wasn't friendly and definitely wasn't customer service oriented. This location is a great location. I talked to Judy on the phone and even though she didn't have any availability at the store in summerlin she recommended another store which was this one. She was professional and informative. When I got to this location I talked to Jason who was also helpful and honest about my diagnosis for my car. Beware, some locations don't have the same owners/management and when I called another location (on Durango) they wanted to charge me twice as much as this one. read more

We had taken our car to another Midas and had to get a fuel pump. Went back at least 4 times car seemed to be starving for gas. Customer service not to good and called Midas main office. It took about a week and another call but they had another store call us. It was Danny from Midas on Rainbow and Oakey. He got us in right away and found the new fuel pump was faulty. Changed it out and we have had no problems. Danny was not only a knowledgeable professional but also very nice. I know he will have our business from now on. read more

The Midas shop at 1850 South Rainbow Boulevard is incredible. Great shop, with amazing crew. Nice amenities like cooled waiting area, coffee, water, etc. The store manager John "Joe" Gregory was awesome. Great service, very understanding, and worked with me to get my 2013 Dodge Avenger up and going. The mechanic Hank was great too; he introduced himself and updated me on the vehicle constantly. I called from California to get my sons car worked on and was well taken care of by DeAndre over the phone. They arranged for my son to drop off his car and receive rides back-and-forth. The car was fixed quickly, there was one little problem and DeAndre was sure to take care of that as quickly as possible I appreciated the professionalism and trusting them to take care of my young son and his vehicle. Horrible experience told them that the winding noise in the back was the rear diff. They ended up changing everything but picked it up still the same noise they told me it was normal , went to sun auto had it fixed in two days, it was the diff. Went back showed them it was wrong. Came here thinking it would be cheaper than what my VW Dealership charges for an oil change which is $79. It wasn't. Midas quoted $20 more at a price of $99.99 being that my Beetle takes "Special European Oil." Just the way she told me that, I knew in my head that price was complete trash. If it's so special why is even the VW Dealership cheaper? Bullshit. I have Been here once previously for an oil change for a 2011 Hybrid Sonata. The total came out to be 90 bucks. I feel like places charge whatever they feel for an oil change totally disregarding the industry standard. If there even is one. So I was pretty overdue for an oil change and figure I'll go somewhere close to home and call to see if there's a wait. Well when I called they said sure bring it on in we don't have a wait. Well I had to get ready and by the time I got there it was an hour later and there was now a 2 hour wait!! So whatever it needed to get done and the guy said he would give me a good deal so cool I figured I'll leave my car. Well I left and figured they'd call when it was ready.. well that didn't happen.. I called a little over 2 hours later to check on the status of my car and he said oh ya it's ready sorry we've been busy.. so I'm like thinking to myself, you folks should've called but whatever at least it's done for my road trip to Cali the next day. I didn't pay attention when I turned my car on because I had places to go and things to take care of. Well later that evening when I was heading to work I see the "oil change required" light come on and now I'm instantly annoyed. I'm thinking do they try to cheat me because I'm a female and guys assume females don't know anything? So I wake up early the next day and call them and explain to them I brought my car in the day before for an oil change but the light is on still! The guy tells me sorry they must've forgot. Like guys, you had 1 thing to do on my car and it wasn't done to completion. Needless to say I had to go back that day so they could reset my car. That was extra time I had to take out of my day to do something twice when it should've been done properly the first time. Will I come back? Maybe, who knows. This place was amazing today and Chico is a gem- fabulous customer service. The van's wheel sounded terrifying this morning. After an appointment for my son (who has Aspergers) we came to get the brake checked out. I was greeted and given an estimate for a brake check. Not soon after, one of the technicians came in and said he needed to show me what was going on. It turns out we were driving on almost no brakes and a rotor was non existent or something to that effect. I know nothing about brakes. To further reveal our idiocy, we haven't had them checked in three years and have towed a trailer up and down the West Coast. I appreciate how kind and respectful the guys were as they explained what would need to be done and how often brakes should be inspected. The public servant discount they are offering for a limited time was very sweet with this painful bill. Further, They were kind to my son and understanding of his difficulties. They even let me know the wait would be over an hour and recommended different restaurants within walking distance. Because he is young they told me about the McDonald's up the street with the play place- much needed. Bravo. read more
