Being a chick and not knowing SHIT about cars, I am always scared that I will get taken advantage of. With Midas, I didn't feel pressured into getting additional repairs or services. I had my oil changed & got my wiper blades replaced. It seemed like a busy morning for them, but I was out within an hour. You can make appts online! I live on the other side of town now, but if you live in the Drake/DMU area, I definitely recommend them. read more

Being an auto dealer without my own hired mechanic,I have been to countless repair shops. These guys are by far the best. I have had them work on many of my vehicles, and have never had a single issue. They are the fastest, most honest, best priced, best communicating shop I've ever worked with! And their location is great (for me at least). Most times (every time if you ask) they'll give you a free inspection sheet with an overview of your vehicle's state. They won't work on anything unless you give the go ahead, and they are honest about what work should be completed. If you're needing an auto repair shop in the Des Moines area, I recommend Midas on Ingersoll! read more

the price ended up being about double what they quoted me. told me over the phone they fixed the problem then when I got there they said it wasn't fixed. they even left their shoe guard in the car. they didnt even clean up after themselves. extremely overpriced and didn't solve my problem. read more

I love this super convenient Midas just blocks from home and work. They are super helpful and never try to upsell me! Highly recommend!

Damaged our vehicle while in their shop. After showing them proof they denied the allegations. Stay far away.

I took my 2019 Jeep in today for an oil change and free tire rotation. Upon leaving and not getting more than a mile or two into my commute, I noticed a rough handling and rumbling sound when driving down the road. Upon pulling over and looking, I had 4 lug nuts missing on 1 tire. Completely unacceptable. While I appreciate Josh and his crew driving out to fix it, I was offered no type of reimbursement or anything to rectify the situation. The last time I was in prior to this, I was missing the piece that holds my oil pan up. (Some type of bolt) If you guys want to keep customers, you need to make it right with people and not continue to do slop work. Tonight could have resulted in something bad and I don't appreciate it being more or less brushed off. read more

some of the best customer service and never had any issues! klay is great help everytime!

Ripped off by charging $98 for a standard oil change, and took 4 hours even with an appointment. Don't go to this Midas, the customer service sucks! read more

Been to this location half a dozen times now and am very happy with their service. They could have made quite a bit of money off me several times but never did; instead I have found them to be full of integrity and willing to help me save money on numerous occasions. They work fast and are happy to take you out under your car to show you what they do. The owner Josh is a great human and I applaud him. Thank you to Josh and all the techs! You guys rock. read more

They were ready when I arrived (early!), and had me done quickly. I worked on my laptop in the waiting area with their free wifi and was there less than an hour. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend! read more

Bait and switch kings Got estimate for 150-$200. Bill was $331. I questioned this and manager said he wasn't responsible for bids and pretty much too bad. Also got price to replace tail light part. Estimate was $102. After getting screwed on that above I went on line. Found it takes removing 2 screws and unplugging the old part and plugging in new part. 15 minutes. And $9 delivered for part These guys will rob you blind read more

i wish there was a no star rating .. that is what this garage deserves!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do not take your vehicle here or expect to get ripped off!!! and not jusssst ripped off but almost raped!!! this is a complete joke!!! full of harrassment and misgivings .. i would have had more luck taking this into a preschool class and having them fix it with tinker toys .. remember you have been warned! read more

Great service. Just got an oil change. I just moved here from California and what a breath of fresh air. This is the first time I've ever gotten an oil change and not been told that my car needs 100s of dollars worth of stuff done to it. read more

They went out of their way to help resolve issues that weren't resolved in spite of at least 3 or 4 visits and thousands of dollars spent at a different location. Josh was wonderful and helpful and I really felt he cared about making sure my daughter had a safe running vehicle. I recommend them highly! read more

I went online to book an oil change and got an email saying they would confirm within 30 business minutes. I never got a response, so I gave them a call the next day and was told they never got it, despite the confirmation email. The man on the phone said I could bring it in at that time anyway, but it wouldn't get done right away. I pulled into a very tight and full parking lot, was asked my name and for my keys. I got an uber home and got a phone call 2 hours later that it was ready with a quick analysis of what could use some work on my car. I came back and went to the counter and was told it would be $102 for an oil change. They never asked what I wanted, and instead saw a young girl and gave her the most expensive without getting consent. I paid and left and will not be returning. Thought I would try somewhere supposedly more budget-friendly, but it looks like I'll still be using a dealership. read more

I went for the first time yesterday to get my oil changed! They've got a handy dandy little chart that suggests the kind of oil you should put in your car the more senile your car gets! When I chose to go with the normal oil, they didn't harrass me just educated me and let me make up my own mind. Then the did a courtesy check and found one other required maintenance that I really didn't know I needed to do. After a little research of my own I found out that I wasn't getting the wool pulled over my eyes but they were doing me a good service. :) Tom, the manager yesterday, was very friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be back! read more

They helped me out when I purchased my car, very knowledgeable about issues I had with the car I bought (the dealer pretty much told me I was S O L when I drove the car off the lot. This where I will go from now on for my car maintenance and repair! read more

Took my newer car in for an oil change, and I gave into a transmission flush as well at their recommendation. There was an odor emitting from my car for over a week later after. I let it go thinking it was just spilled transmission fluid burning off. It didn't go away so took it back in to get checked. They said everything was fine, and that it was probably just the spilled fluid. Went on a few hour long trips after that, and my car kept over heating. I'd stop for 15-20 min to let it cool down. Made me late for a wedding one trip as I stopped 3x. Took it to Freedom Tire where they told me the transmission fluid was way too overfilled. Got charged for their labor and who know what kind of damage to my transmission there is now. Went to Midas for years, and haven't been back since. Waste of time and money! read more

They did a great job fixing my daughters fuel pump. We would recommend using them because they stand behind their work and are dependable.

Took my car (2003 Mercedes-Benz CLK 430) here to get a quote to replace 2 catalytic converters and a new tire. They got my car done in a couple hours and my car is running great, not to mention I'm very happy with the price. You can tell that Rich, the manager, has empathy when dealing with customers and treats others as he would like to be treated. Needless to say, I will definitely be a repeat customer, and would refer others to this shop too. read more

I am new to the area, and this was close to my apartment, so I chose this location for my oil change. I called in the late morning and was able to get in the early afternoon. It took less than an hour, and I just read a book in the waiting room. They have free wifi and a tv. Everyone was friendly and the price was reasonable and one of the least costly oil changes I've ever had. The owner/manager took a few minutes to explain the car report to me, which I appreciated. I will definitely go again. read more

Glad to see other reviewers agree -- these guys are great. I'm not a "car guy," but I'm not afraid to get under the hood myself, so I like to think I know a decent amount -- at least enough to know the difference between good service and bad. I've been taking our cars here for the past two years, and they go above and beyond to do good, honest work. They just helped me diagnose a check-engine light on my pickup and cleaned the offending sensor for me, saving me a replacement cost. read more

I hate them. I went in for an oil change and they didn't get the plug or the filter on tight. I lost a quart of oil in the first week. They spend an hour trying to tell me everything wrong with my car and trying to up-sell me like an idiot who would think my NEW tires needed replaced, but they couldn't tighten the plug and filter. They had ONE JOB. And they charged me 30% more than they said they would. read more

Second time in a row where Midas on Ingersoll mislead me on what they did when servicing my vehicle. The most recent time was a few weeks ago when I presented a coupon that gave me $10 off synthetic oil change along with a free tire rotation. I sat and waited for my car and watched through the glass the whole. My car was on a lift where it would have been impossible to rotate my tires. I watched and my tires were never rotated. I asked the individual checking me out when my car was "finished" if my tires had been rotated. He went back to the mechanic who worked on my car to speak with him. The individual came back and informed me that they just looked at my tires and deemed that they didn't need to be rotated. I had driven my car for roughly 8,000 miles since the last rotation. I have no idea what they looked at but they did not do what they were supposed to do in the first place when I asked them to rotate my tires. The first time was when the manager told me that I needed to change my cabin air filter when I literally changed it the day before. They didn't even look at it. I find it extremely hard to trust this midas again and will be taking my business elsewhere. I have been coming here for 4 years. read more

Midas in general is good. This location is good at the work but extremely slow at the progress. I made the mistake of buying tires from them and so far when I've had a problem, they've taken care of it but not in any type of timely manner. Today, I am sitting at over a 5 hour wait to replace a tire. Really? read more

I was able to easily book an appointment online the same day for an oil change. Josh and his team were helpful and prompt. When they didn't have replacement windshield wiper blades for my vehicle, they ordered and had them available the following day. Midas called to let me know they were in and to stop by anytime and they'd help install. There is free Wi-Fi and a TV available while you wait. It was a great experience! read more

Always a great place to take my car to get the oil changed, and have other services done. Nice staff and really pretty decent coffee.

I purchased a used car about a month ago. I looked up on YELP to see what car company had the best reviews for repairs. Midas on Ingersoll popped up number 1. I wanted to get an oil change, have an inspection of my cars engine, and a brake inspection. I noticed that I had some noise and gripping on the front passenger brakes. After the oil change, the tech came and told me that the oil change was done, the engine looked great, but they were having trouble getting two lug nuts off of my front passenger side tire. The brakes looked good, and needed noting done, but the tech could see through the tire I was missing the caliper hardware. I thought of course it would be the one tire the cant get off. The team at this store worked very hard for about 4 hours trying to get the lug nits off without using the torch so that they could save my rim. After exhausting every method possible, I had to give them the okay to use a torch to cut the bolts off. They called my service plan for my vehicle to see if they would cover the cost since I only had the car for a month, and havent even put 500 miles on it yet. The had me call the dealership to see if they would help. Needless to say, I was on my own for the cost. Midas went above and beyond service for me. They went to 3 different places across town to get the rim, the tire bolts, and the lug nuts since they were not in stock anywhere. They also found a used rim in great condition to spare me cost. Anywhere else I feel would have charged me an arm and a leg for the almost 6 hours I was there, and to travel all over to get parts. These guys were honest, and fair in the prices. They spent a lot of time, care, and effort to spare me as much cost as they could. Even though I was there a very long time, it was because they actually cared about me and my vehicle. I will forever be a customer to Midas for the extra care, and kindness that they showed me the day I was there. read more
