I usually wait longer, didn't mind so I thought that was quick. When I went to pay I was told my total was $101 & change. I had gotten a mailer, NOT a coupon from Abbotts days before & brought it with me. it said among other discounts, oil change for synthetic oil was $54.95. it also noted that oil change included tire rotation & multi point vehicle inspection. I showed them the mailer & she said she would adjust the price. she then told me that they didn't do the tire rotation. I looked surprised since I always had it done before with oil changes. The young man behind the counter said "there's no charge for tire rotation so you weren't charged for it, it's included". I replied "but you didn't do it". The woman behind the counter said that she could have someone bring my car back to do the tire rotation. I told her no, that's ok. I was annoyed at this point. I was going to initially be charged $101 & change for oil change but no tire rotation. When I got in my car to leave I noticed my "info screen " that usually showed the speedometer, was left on screen where it showed input for next service. I started changing the screen back to where it should have been & noticed on the tire screen, 3 tires were at 32 & 1 was at 38. So they didn't even check that. Something's changed there. it seems like they just want to get cars in & out quickly to bring more business in. I'm definitely not happy.

The transmission would not go into gear. She had the car towed to the Nissan dealership, who checked the car and stated the car needed a transmission but also needed a motor!??? Over $7800 estimate!? She didn't know what to do. I told her we use Lexington 1 Stop Auto and to let them them look. From the moment of her calling, Jason (the owner) arranged a tow truck to pick up the car within just a few hours. We explained what the Nissan dealership said, their response was -- let us look at it and be the judge...too many times dealerships take the sales approach method and may attempt to oversale the issue. Well he was correct! Within a day, the owner responded back: we found a used transmission and he sent us the history on it (and it included a short warranty). Secondly, we believe the motor can be saved, it needs servicing to remove the sludge build up. Let's try this before you spend $1000s on a different motor. Within three days, the owner contacted us. The transmission was installed and working properly. The motor was saved! Saving her over $2000 in repair costs. But the service didn't stop there. They fully explained what they did, and asked the car be brought back in two weeks to change the oil out since it was an extensive service -- this will remove any additional gunk that breaks free. Then they will inspect the motor once more to make sure it is sound. That's going above and beyond. My family member said when she spoke with Jason that he was very respectful to her (and her lack of knowledge of cars) and didn't talk down to her. She really appreciated his professionalism and felt that he was trustworthy. That made me feel good because I recommended them. Two days later, she said the car drives like it is brand new! Thanks to Jason and his mechanic staff, she got her car back for a third of the cost the Nissan dealership was quoting.

Our 3 ceiling fans & thermal/sunblock curtains along with our 18,000 BTU mini-split (HVAC) were working really hard to keep this room cool. Curtains had to stay closed during the day to keep the room cool. As soon as Solar Solutions installed the window tint to half of our sunroom, we could feel the difference. Now we can save money by setting the temperature higher and still be cool all day. Also, we were able to remove curtains to enjoy the view of our backyard. They were on time, friendly, professional, and fast. It was a one time expense that allows us to save money each month on our electric bill & enjoy our sunroom with family & friends for years to come.

Our original tint was starting to bubble so we were lured into this company by the Veteran owned title along with the random Christian paraphernalia in the office. We had the original tint removed and new tint applied. Car was left there all day and we were charged the most they quoted for removal and tinting. Upon pick up, we paid cash and were not given a receipt, only to be told to not use ammonia to clean the windows or roll the windows down for 24 hours. We noticed wetness from the application process and air bubbles here and there but chalked it off to the tint having to cure. One day while driving we noticed, as the sun was shining through, the back glass at the top where there are small round cut outs, the tint looks like there is either adhesive, soap residue, something stuck between the tint and glass that has never been there. We bought this car new and have never seen the window look this way since before the new tint job. We contacted Solar Solutions and were told we were in the system, to bring the car in to be retinted as the tint has a life long warranty. When we dropped the car off the guy taking the keys saw the problems and seemed as though the issue with the top of the tint should not be there. The car was left for 7 hours. Picked up the car along with a hand written paper receipt and noticed more air bubbles and the same situation to the top as before. Gave it a week or so to see if it had remedied itself. It had not. Air bubbles and just a mess of the top of the tint. Called Solar Solutions and one of the owners said bring it back and he would handle it personally. What a mistake! We would have been better off with the air bubbles and adhesive/soap residue problem. From the get go both owners, we assume as they never introduced themselves, addressed the tint claiming that was normal. Pretty strange how suddenly this is normal but was never mentioned on the initial phone call or the 2nd visit where they removed and applied new tint. Claimed they handle all of SLED's cars and they have this same situation. Not impressed at all. At any rate, to address the air bubbles they take the car into the shop and bring it back maybe ten minutes later. I notice a piece of tint hanging where before there was a two inch long air bubble where a defrost line is. I ask what it was (knowing they took a razor blade to my tint) and the owner accuses me of the damage he just did. I am completely in shock. He then demands I give him my keys so he can go take off the tint and refund me my money. After the treatment I received, of being accused of the damage this guy did, there was no way I was trusting them with my car again. They walked away from me saying, "have a good day." This was a Christmas gift to my wife. We would have been better off with some YouTube videos and a couple rolls of tint. Take heed of the reviews that are negative of this business. Of course the best job and best treatment can be given to the president or some hot shot with a corvette but what about the treatment to a nobody who can offer you nothing but their hard earned cash. If you want a couple of dishonest guys who don't stand behind their work, for a nobody from nowhere, this is the place to go.

Two days later, the AC stopped working again. On the second visit, I was told the compressor had a pinhole leak, which cost me another $1,100 to repair. That repair only lasted about two weeks before the AC failed again. I then received another quote for approximately $1,700 because they claimed they needed to remove the dashboard and replace another part. After almost spending $3,000, I'm glad I took the advice of my friend with 25 years of experience in automotive repair and got a second opinion from another shop. I was informed that the issue was completely different from what Pep Boys had diagnosed and that several of the repairs and recommendations appeared unnecessary. My son's air conditioning is now working better than it ever did after either visit to Pep Boys. I cannot believe this is how Pep Boys does business. I trusted them to properly diagnose and repair my son's vehicle, but instead I feel taken advantage of, misled, and overcharged during a stressful situation. Using a veteran discount to appear helpful while continuing to recommend costly repairs that did not fix the issue is unacceptable. I honestly should have looked at their ratings and reviews before ever taking my vehicle there. Based on my experience, this company definitely needs to be investigated for unfair price gouging and recommending repairs that may not have been necessary. I would not recommend Pep Boys to anyone.
