I was driving through AC and I noticed I was loosing air in my front right tire. I saw that Midas was near by so I went by there. They quickly identified the issue - the tire in question was just old - bad. Coincidentally the driver side front was bad as well. They gave me a good price and 4Hrs later ( they had to order the tires) problems were solved. The staff were great and very good about explaining everything. If I am ever in AC again and experience car troubles, I am going to Midas. read more

It is rare when you can say you had an excellent experience at an auto repair shop but that's exactly the exceptional experience I had today at Midas Atlantic City. They diagnosed the problem and and informed me of what the repair would entail and what it would cost. Scary stuff for an old widow - will I be taken advantage of as a woman or bullied into extra services? Not at all. Keith and Bill addressed the problem and fixed it. In addition to an oil change and the needed repairs they found a nail in a tire and fixed that too. The waiting area was clean and inviting with a tv on and fresh coffee available. BEWARE! I feel like I was SCAMMED! I went in to get a tire fixed for a slow leak. The tire was only 10 months old (which I bought new at that same shop with 3 other tires.) The tires still looked new since I barely drive my car anywhere and I live locally. So I dropped off my car to an empty shop (a yellow flag) and it was at the end of the month in August. (Was it Quota time??). A few minutes later I get a call telling me I needed a whole new tire that would cost me $150!! The mechanic claimed I had a screw, a nail and a staple in that one tire and it couldn't be fixed. That seemed statistically unlikely to me! I've had a screw in a tire a couple of times in past cars but what are the chances that in this case, the one tire had all 3 issues but the other tires miraculously had no problem. I asked why can't you just plug the holes which would be cheaper than buying a new tire. The mechanic said that they couldn't do it based on where the objects are located. I told him I'd return to the shop so I could see the tire. When I arrived, I waited and finally the mechanic told me to come to the empty garage to look at the tire. He showed me the "bad" tire and pointed out the 3 issue....Now I'm no expert but in my humble opinion, it looked like the nail was manually inserted because the end of it did not show any signs of damage from the road. In fact, the nail head looked like it was cut off so it was leveled with the treads. The staple looked like it was caught only on the thick new tread that can easily be pulled out. And the screw which did show a slight sign of road damage on the tip (which is expected if I was driving on it for a few miles) was located in the middle of the tire which I felt like it could've been easily plugged and repaired for a few dollars. In my opinion, that tire, with the barely worn tread, could now be fixed and they easily sell it to another customer as a used tire. He then tried to up-sell me tire protection for an additional cost to cover all 4 tires. I immediately declined and I just wanted to leave already feeling ripped off and taken advantage of. When it was time to check out he again tried to up-sell me tire protection in which I again declined. After ringing me up for the new tire he then explained that that as of April, new tires are automatic covered with tire protection which applied to the one I just purchased. What?? Now I found it interesting that he didn't mention that when he was JUST trying to up-sell me the tire protection for all 4 tires. In conclusion, It's unfortunate that my previous visits to the shop were exceptional (which I noted in a previous yelp review) but this mechanic made me feel ripped off and taken advantage of. (possibly to reach an end of the month quote for a slow business month. -in my opinion.) I will now have to think twice whether to return to this shop in the future. read more

GUYS!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF!!! went to AC for a short family trip, and found out that my car has a little problem with the rear brakes. did some research, and decided to give this place a shot after saw some good reviews. so i went there on wednesday morning around 9am to get a replacement rear brake for my Mercedes benz gle 350.. i spoke to the guy in the office, and told him i only need to change the brake-pad and the rotors. he told me to wait and sit, asked for my key, and pulled my car inside the garage. he came back to the office, worked a little bit with his computer, and print some kind of invoice and show me what he thinks they need to do to get the problem fixed. The total i need to pay is almost $1200. Hell NO...!!! he must be thinking i'm stupid. so i told them to get my Car out of the garrage, and would look for a different place. Thank God, i saw a small tire shop right behind their building, called "AUTOKING" so i spoke to the guy named Miguel, and he told me to go to autozone or auto advanced which only 7 mins away, and purchase the brake parts my self because he doesnt have it in stock. so i went to auto advance, got all the parts i need for $190 total, went back to Autoking, and they did everything for me. he charged me $100 and i tip them extra 50. GOD.. i saved $900 just because this guy worked at MIDAS was so GREEDY . i hope the owner could READ this honest review and fix their internal problem, so there is no one needs to get robbed in their emergency situation. once again, it happened Wednesday morning, Feb 22nd, 2023. read more

Since new owners took over service has gone way down. Prices went up for less. Went to get an oil change and and got charged twice as much as I use to they stated that they would rotate tires check air pressure and fluids. The didn't do anything other than change the oil. My tire pressure notified me that the pressure was still not right so I went back the next day and they informed me all the tires were way over and showed me a screw in the rear tire but stated they couldn't fix it. I took it to see if I could get it fixed and found out it was such a short little screw that it was just in-between the treads and the pressure was still very high they never corrected it just sent me on my way. I use to take all my vehicles there when Dave owned it for 20 years and recommended all my friends but sadly not anymore. read more

My daughter drove from Pittsburgh and her tire light came on. We stopped by and they looked at the tires ASAP and addressed the issue. Because the tires we actually over inflated they let air out and the car was fine. They did not charge for the visit - other merchants could learn from their customer service. Beware if you are in need for tire services Walked in and scheduled an appointment last week. Told the gentleman who was nice and very knowledgeable about what service i needed, answered all my questions and got me a date and time. Came back for the second time on my appointment date and it was a different experience. No greeting whatsoever. When they finally acknowledged my presence, i told them i was there to swap tires from one set of OEM wheels to another set of OEM wheels. Guy told me he had to go outside to check wheels. He walks out and after seeing the wheels tells me that there is a good chance the machine might probably damage the outer rim due to a bolt on their machine and that i should probably check elsewhere. He was willing to do the job, but made it seem like there was a good chance they were going to get damaged. I listened to his suggestions and decided to leave. Been doing this for a decade and never heard of this before. So before you guys walk in and get told the same thing i was, i think it would be smart to save your time and go elsewhere. read more

Spectacular service! I called for an appointment just as they were closing for the day. They were able to see me first thing the following morning and my car was up on the lift within 5 minutes of arriving. The service manager was most accommodating and filled me in on the problem as well as the solution. He fixed the issue, honored the warranty, all in all a great experience. Fortunately I found Midas in Atlantic City; not only did they handle the warranty issue but they advised me of several safety issues and I had them do that work as well. Had a service done here for a transfer case drain and fill. My car is foreign and a real pain to do this on, they had it done with in a few hours as i dropped the car off. Usually Midas is a little pricey but i was happy at 40 bucks being the method of how you had to do it. I would visit them again if i needed to get something done that i dont feel like messing with and im a part time mechanic that dont let to many people touch my car. read more

Went for an oil change on a friday afternoon. Friendly service. Easy process. They acknowledged a coupon for 19.99 oil change. Went to Wonder Bar for lunch. Came back and jeep was done under one hour. Total was like $23. This place often has deals. Will be back for future service! read more

I recently had a brake line burst in my Mercedes ML350 and had no brakes while I was driving, I had the fortune of Midas being right where my brakes failed so I pulled in, and what a blessing it turned out to be it was right after they had closed and "Dave" got out of his car as he was going to leave to help me figure out my problem and help me fix it. With a bay full of cars, he pulled me in and promised me my car by closing the next day. He had it finished by 230pm. Everyone I dealt with was more than pleasant and understand. And they did a great job fixing my vehicle for a very reasonable price and very expeditiously. I highly recommend this Midas for any of the issues they cover, brakes oil changes tires a multitude of problems that are handled with ease by their professional and friendly staff. I took my Nissan Maxima to the Midas in Atlantic City ,NJ. They said to replace the transmission it would cost 2,000 $. So i got the money and came back and gave them 1,300 to order the transmission. They then called me the next day to ask me, a computer tech. who does not know the first thing about cars, what kind of transmission the car had. Mind you, the car was right there in front of them when they gave me the quote. They then called me back and said that they gave me a quote on the wrong transmission and the price went up 1,100 $. So i did not have the rest of the cash at that time so i went back to pick up my 1,300 $. They gave me an envelope and apologized. The next day i went to deposit the money into my bank account and there is only 1,100$$!!!!! in the envelope. I called them and they said i should have counted in there. Two brother's own the shop. The brother ,Dave i gave the money to said he put the 13 one-hundred dollar bills i gave him in an envelope. The other brother who made the initial mistake, Mike, gave me the envelope back with not 13 one-hundred dollar bills, but instead 3 fifeties, the rest in twenties and a ten!!!!!!!!! I did not think they would beat me for two hundred dollars not to mention my time! read more
