My basement was not nearly as bad as other people's, and I wanted help cleaning and with mold. They got back to me within a couple of days while I was on other companies' waitlists. They could have come out the same evening, but I had them wait until the next day which was more convenient. They came out, provided an estimate. I had questions, and I was able to say what I wanted done (eg. I didn't want the air purification for $1000 since my HVAC system has an air purification system in it that takes care of mold spores or the wall paint to protect from mold for $200 since I am already on a list to have my basement waterproofed in a month, and the walls are going to be dealt with). They were amenable to the changes. They were able to schedule me for the next day and do the work. They provided me with updates of the project. They took out more drywall than anticipated, but that's fine. I'll refinish the basement later. Garrett and Justin were both helpful. I recommend them. Our house was built in 2000 so after 25 years of occasional leaks it seemed like a good idea to just check. Sure enough, lots of mold under the floor, behind the wall and under the cabinet into the hallway. Tyler salvaged what he could and thoroughly treated the affected areas. Unfortunately it turned out to be a bigger problem than I originally thought it was. It was more like having a friend over to clean the carpet rather than a contractor. Mike explained everything about problem areas and shared tips on how to prolong the life of my carpet. There were a few persistent stains that didn't come out entirely but that was due to my neglecting the carpet for six years. Mike brought in two industrial sized drying fans to speed along the drying. Something I've never seen from the competitors. I'm preparing to move out of the region, but if I were staying, Centtera would be my carpet cleaning service of choice from now on. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, they missed some mold, and I had to call them back to cut out more drywall. This was a big disappointment. I don't understand how it was missed. The missed mold was right up to the edge of the drywall, meaning the drywall they cut out would also have mold right up to the edge, and they are supposed to remove one foot past where the mold ends. I found it when I was putting insulation back in, and I could have easily missed it myself which could have led to the mold continuing to grow and having another big problem later.  Also, I was given a work authorization to sign, but with no written breakdown of what the work would actually entail: which parts of the house, the process to remove the mold, etc. I had to request this. All other mold mitigation companies I contacted gave me a quote with a very detailed written breakdown of the work to be performed. If you go with them, make sure you ask for the details of the work to be performed in writing and don't settle for just a verbal explanation of what they will do.

So I was just left to scramble on my own and I am still attempting to find someone to finish putting my basement all back together and it has literally been over 4 months now. Live and learn I guess. We also received a notice in the mail, that he had taken a high interest loan out with our address as the project name, and they were trying to collect payment from him. Essentially we paid him $30k to startup, he borrowed $30k from a lender. He never bought materials for our project, so he had $60k that was no where to be seen and not being used for our project. We believe he is borrowing from peter to pay Paul. Before this, he did a spiral staircase in our house and the steps are uneven. Different widths. He also didn't clean up after himself. Also, I guess a neighbor hired him after seeing his sign in our yard, apparently that went south and the guy threatened a gun on him. All in all, I wouldn't trust this guy to paint a door.
